Lou Gramm and Foreigner nominated for Rock & Roll Hall of Fame 2024
Seriously !?!!??!!!
The entire Foreigner group should be nominated!!
After decades. They deserve itl
About time.
I'm so freaked out ( happy)for all of them except for "Mitch" "Mick" whatever his name is. He cheated so many of the band members out of copyrights on all the songs & Lou Graham was involved with writing almost all of the song's
Foreigner is one of the best rock in roll bands from the 80s 🪨 🎸 👌 👍 ☺
This song is from the 70s, but your point remains 😉
This is a 70s song but I agree very good song
Best pop rock band ever
correction this is late 78 79 band the first two fantastic the preceding albums head games , 4 , agent provoc , had power tunes but with a total front to back non filler. these first two albums is really all you need. i personaly dont need to here urgent or jukebox or waiting for a girl or that other sappy tune i wanna know what love is. crap. give woman oh woman any day or starrider!! war with the world. headknocker now that great foreigner not to forget spellbinder
Their 80's fase was more ballads
It ain't Foreigner without Lou Gramm.
I would have to agree, but check out the Tribute Band: Double Vision - lead singer Chandler Mogel
The original Foreigner!!! The best!!!
Late 70's /early 80's with Foreigner, Boston, Triumph, Rush, Journey, Styx, Angel, Kansas, Queen, KISS, Van Halen, Aerosmith, REO Speedwagon, Sammy Hagar and April Wine. Yeah, We didn't realize then that we were witnessing the greatest time in Rock music history and it would never be this good ever again. 40 years later these bands are still getting more airplay on radio than new songs do. That is a testament to just how good this era of music was.
Hey - stop living in the past. Look at all of the talented artists we have today...uh..well ...uh...how about..uh ...well O.K. there aren't any. Today's music is garbage. Rap? I would rather cut my wrist than listen to that. Pretty sure it is spelled CRAP, with the "C" being silent. Can't stand hearing some clueless teen driving down my street with that garbage blaring out of his shitbox toyota. Should start bringing a brick with me to help him adjust his radio. Long live rock 'n roll!
You forgot to mention TOTO remember Hold the line
@@waltersimmons946 Excellent point. LOVE Toto too, Walter!
@@bobpierce115 Alright
I'd be a little more generous on the time, extending the 'great' era to 1986. I really love thew New Wave era and (say) the solo music by Don Henley and Glenn Frey. Double Vision was one of Foreigner's best singles and albums. So was Head Games in '79 and '4' in 1981. Sadly, that album with 'Waiting for a Girl...' signaled the new Journey/crybaby direction the band chose to take, and lost their huge male fan base including myself, permanently. It has never changed the way I feel about the first four albums though. On a broader spectrum, we were going to enter a permanent "everything's all over with" which we've been in since about 1988. It's not just that the tap on great music was turned off then, the tap on EVERYTHING was. The 20th century had 7 remarkable decades from the 1920's-1980's which culturally (not counting the first Depression and wars) were a time of everything thriving, new ideas in clothes, hair styles, auto design and music. Everything was so sped up, especially after World War II, the following decades you could almost pinpoint year by year. And if it wasn't the year you guessed, you'd only be off by a year or two. For example, you had the early, mid and later sections of the '50s, 60's, 70's and '80s. What no one realized then (and you kind of hit on it) is that it was finite. Everything, all the good ideas, were all used up----for good; never to return. In 1920 Americans weren't looking back to the 1860's-1880's musically or in most other ways. The very idea is ridiculous. Today we have the opposite situation. We have all of this tech, tech, tech that's "replaced" everything I mentioned. There's no fun anymore (and I mean WELL before the pandemic). The automotive products of ANY era are a reflection of the time they're produced. With rare, rare exceptions today's vehicles are boring 4-door sedan rental cars, ugly crossovers, SUV's and trucks. That's it. You don't really need to wonder what they're going to be like in 20 years. The way people dress will be the same, music will continue to be gospel/crybaby elongating all of the vowels shit, just like the past 25+ years. Anyone who passed away 30+ years ago, hasn't missed out on anything but tech overkill, mass shootings (which I predict will be worse than ever starting soon) stress and misery. Think that pretty much sums it up!
The orginal Foreigner were special.
As the kids would say, this is a banger. Lou Gramm has so much swag without even trying
Just caught Lou Gramm live last night at the Kodak Center in Rochester NY with his All Stars and he rocked the house down! Standing room only. Lou's voice is the best, a true rock god, and so sweet and humble.
That's so awesome!
It was a great time. Brought back many good memories. ❤
My father used to blast this song in his suburban when he used to pick me up from school RIP dad I miss jamming out with you 💔

Dad sounds awesome.....
Great memory jimmy thanks for sharing I can’t tell you how much I enjoy reading people’s random stories from when they were kids . Not sure why but I read em and it’s like they gave me a present or something, and I always thank them for sharing that moment because it was theirs alone but now i feel like it’s my memory too now.... weird huh... 🤔 but it’s how I feel.
Lou Gramm will ALWAYS be my favourite Rock vocalist! He had everything, the best range of any singer, belting out a powerful rocker, or an exquisitely beautiful ballad! Also an excellent songwriter, and added to that, had the most incredible stage presence, meaning your eyes were focused on him for the majority of the concert!
In conclusion, Lou is genuinely humble and is a fantastic human being.
Love you Lou, wish you the very best of health and happiness for the future!
What he said - Agreed 1000% !!!
Así es, bendiciones para este ser humano tan hermoso, lo amo❤❤
i almost would say for sure lou grahm but one other cat is a close second and that of course mr. Don Henley of The Eagles. hotel california, witchy woman, best of my love
He's one of the best no question one of my faves
I only put Steve perry Michael Jackson and Freddie mercury above him
Respectfully, we disagree, but we're prejudiced. At his peak Lou Gramatico, left a local Rochester NY band, Black Sheep for the Apple and...
I think it was a Monday 🎉
Lou Gramm has one of the best voices 👌 👍 ☺
My son asked me to play this song today......he is 12 years old!! obviously recognizes what talent is.
Hey when I was little I listened to rap but as I got into my preteens I strayed more towards rock and now I listen to everything from Bach to bon Jovi
Good parenting on your part, excellent taste in music on his part! Win/win! 👍
That means he loves ur taste in music!
Now this is the true Foreigner that we grew up loving!! IT DOESN'T GET ANY BETTER THAN THIS!!
Happy holy
This song still rocks today, Lou Gramm great voice.
Ok
Exactly!
Absolutely. Listening lockdown August 2020
Agree!
Absolutely. Lockdown September
They don't make song's like this anymore! And I'm African American... Love the Old School!!
I completely fail to see what being african American has to so with anything but ok
That's okay. I like all genres of music. It feels good. It's good.
A man of taste I see 🫡
These guys ruled the raido in the 1970's!
Just a teenager when this album came out … Foreigner was painted all over my bedroom .. posters .. you name it !!! STILL MY ALL TIME FAVORITE !! You guys still have my heart ❤ 💋
Probably the best time for you to experience it
You know a singer is legit when cays are putting up posters
Hearing Lous story on how Mick screwed him was eye opening....always greed. Lou is a BEAST and had everything you want in a lead vocalist
Until he got sick and couldn't sing anymore
Drummer is underrated as hell
There is no Foreigner without Lou Gramm period❤🎹🎶Lou is eye, and ear candy, I ❤seeing double of him
You are absolutely right
or Ian McDonald.
So true👍💗
Foreigner is going to be playing in Biloxi Mississippi on my birthday that's the best present ever except I don't know if Lou gram is going to be performing it won't be a birthday present unless Lou gram is there with them
For sure. Such a great and distinct voice.
One of Foreigners greatest songs sung by Lou Graham. He is the greatest.🎶
Lou Gramm
The one and only Lou graham
Foreigner, one word. Amazing.
NoahUSA that’s 4
Exactly!🌟
Super amazing
FEDT NR HAN ER GULD VÆR EFTERTIDEN OG DE GODE GAMLE DAGE.
I was playing this song and my grandson heard it and told me man you guys had the greatest songs back then. Now he wants to listen to all of my old CDs.
This song has so many break downs that it's insane. Very very talented.
100% TRUTH! 😁
It's OK truth be told we'll have to break it down. And when he says I'll live all my years in a single minute. My man must be way tough. No doubt he walks down the street punching random people in the face and no one dares do anything about it.
@@j.m.4676 Actually, he's quite nice. Even cooked me dinner once.
I hope Foreigner gets into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this year. They were eligible over 20 years ago!
With Lou Gramm
Why? It's all political now. Like the Oscars, Emmys, etc....... Hall of Fame is meaningless.
@@citygirl5705 Right. HOF is a joke. They stopped being rock and roll when they voted in rap acts.
They are getting in.
This song is superb and so is Foreigner. Congrats to the boys on finally getting the nod for the Hall of Fame. I know it meant a lot to them. Lou Gramm said he'd be smiling all day.
I miss real music..
Yes, same❤🎶!
there's plenty of "real music" being made today, you're just not looking for it
These Bands ...Cant be Replaced!!!! 2021
Man, this song brought me back to the 70s. They don’t make music like this anymore.
One of the best rock bands around.
Lou Gramm is badass. I love me some foreigner since the early 80's.
This is the epitome of the perfect punchy rock song. Enigmatic lead vocalist, strong riffs and great harmony. I LOVE this song and vid ❤
This is the very first song I ever remember hearing on the radio. I was a child in 1978 in the back of the car while we were driving to my grandmother's house to see my cousins who had just arrived and I was so excited. I was impressed by the instrumental accompaniment during the chorus.
How old were you?
Mine is don't fear the reaper
No shortage of talent and hair👍
Also, there is no shortage of cocaine!
Check it out....NO MAKE-UP & NOT COVERED IN TATTOS!!!!
It's a heavy pop of supreme level. It's not easy to abstain from dancing. Sergey (61), Saint-Petersburg, Russia.
This here is the Real Deal! Way before MTV the internet Stupid Computers & mobile phones! Just Raw Rock & Roll Talent!!!
I'm 57 years old, this was my favorite song at the time - and this is the first time I've seen this video.
Nice mate! Enjoy it!
Crazy...i am also 57 (just turned) and this was once my favorite song, annnnnd, this is the first time seeing this video!...lol
@@blinderII Crazy, right? As popular as this song was, you'd think we would have seen the video.
Lou is an icon
why does this not have 1 billion views?!
RIP Ian McDonald
Lou and Steve both are the standard to which others could only hope to become half as good
"This content is culturally significant. Posting it on CZcams will ensure that future generations will have access to it and appreciate it. Thank you for sharing it."
Man they are good they sound exactly the same as their studio version !!!
How is this band not in rock n roll hall of fame??
What!? That's nuts! I didn't know that. Smh. You got all of these far less successful bands and artists from other genres like Madonna and hip hop artists, but NOT Foreigner??? That's why most of us see the hall for what it is. A joke to keep it short and sweet
I know, crazy!!!
That's cause it's not original anymore without lou gramm
They should honor Lou Gramm when they induct Foreigner into the Rock ‘n’ Roll hall of fame!!! 🎶 💯
They are being inducted. Personally, it's about time.
One of those amazing rock songs that shows ya that "softer" rock bands like Foreigner can blast out hard rock when they want to!
Apparently they were amazing to see live back in the day with lou gramm
YEA , they didn't start out as a soft rock band more or less. But that is the way some of the band members wanted to go , and probably their record company. I think there's a interview on CZcams with Lou Gramm saying that wasn't always his first choice .( if you know what I mean) But I always loved the original foreigner no matter what they sing.
Most of their songs are pretty hard.
@@tryithere Especially back in the day ! Lou Gramm was an amazing singer , singing in the late 70's those harder rock songs .He was and is an amazing singer ! He brought so much emotion when he sang those songs ! The females were crazy over him ! Lol.
Before "4" , I don't think anybody thought of Foreigner as a "soft-rock" band.
This is rock music! Great Singer, Great Song & people who can play instruments! One of the best songs ever!
Gramm, Jones, McDonald, Gagliardi, Greenwood and Elliott. Love this lineup.
Me too!
Lou, you are the man
I WANNA STICK AROUND TIL I CANT SEE STRAIGHT
I was born in the wrong decade I swear!! This is my shit!!!
I'll never understand why these vintage promos were not provided to MTV or VH1. We could have been enjoying them for decades. Many people died since then and never got to see them.
I never understood why they didn't make a video for "Waiting for a girl like you". This was the year when MTV went on air.
@@Basseck - After shooting a number of promos for their first three albums, it is indeed a mystery why they were negligent with Foreigner 4. A promo for "Urgent " was shot and then we had to deal with those lousy live version promos. How I hated them because it was tough for Lou Gramm to sing them well on stage.
Probably a Mick Jones issue as always with that band...... he was a total fucktard.
Timeless!!!
This band is very underrated
I think so too
They sold 80 million records lol. They're not underrated by anyone, geniuses
No Auto-tune here! Just pure talent! This is how it's done boys and girls!😎✌️❤️
what's so bad about autotune my guy? I feel like autotune gets too much of a bad rep dwag
so much true. todays music is such a noisy electronic garbage
Agreed. No one can sing without enhancement anymore. Probably because they're not really singers ?
@@cajunmane7272 because you skipped thousands of hours of practice to sound good. Instead of failing over and over again first. You know. Like life;)
@@cajunmane7272 It's just computer enhanced garbage with no passion. Real singing has grit. Same with all those MIDI instruments that are so perfect they are not unique.
I blast this song on my there and back from work, Lou Gramm 👏👏
Foreigner kicked everyone’s ass.
I agree EXCEPT for 38 SOECIAL
SPECIAL
You got double vision👀
Wooohoooo RRHOF finally!
Lou is right up there with paul rodgers as far as vocals
Same with Steve Perry imo
But it's hard to compare because they are both good in their own way
AND IAN GILLIAN AND BOB SEGER🌸
Wow. When you listen to the second verse you realize how much power and passion Lou's voice has!
I saw Foreigner in 1980. It was one of the first concerts I saw. April Wine and Rick Derringer were the opening acts. 44 years later and it seems like yesterday. Foreigner was great but it was that night that I realized Rick Derringer is one of the greatest guitarists in history. I still feel that way. But for a 16 year old kid, the entire experience was like nothing I'd ever seen.
The great Foreigner !
give the bass player some love
Classic song from Foreigner!
Pure incredible amazing 70’s rock. This tune is one of the very best.
When I was riding in my dad's truck and this song came on, I burst out laughing because for years I thought it was an original song made by Kyle Justin for an AVGN episode.
He killed it, if I'm to be honest.
kevin from eva?
who's timbo?
lol i just came from season 3 after it showed the song title at the end of his riff
boy those years went by too quick boy they memorable ❤ the journey is long Rock On🎉
I hate all the ads blocking the end of all these videos!
Amen and Amen
When I discovered YT there were NO ADS, no fees, no nothin' except good vids and GREAT MUSIC.
Back when artists created real rock music.
Foreigner is underrated even by classic rock stans. One of my favorite 80s songs, it was still playing on radio a lot when I was a kid (circa 1992-94).
I remember this song got a lot of buzz , a lot of radio airplay in late 1978. It charted at number 2. They could've gone to number one eventually without the ballads.
why the hell isn't Foreigner in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame?It has to be the nastiest snub of the m all. The hall doesn't know its ass from their elbow considering who they let in some of are lesser than Foreigner. Was it because it because their songs too hard or too soft. They did both very competently.
UGH!! Yoiu insult millions of fans over decades who LOVE this band by implying they're all "underrated".
This came out in '78...
Hardly underrated. Revered by millions is more accurate.
Foreigner good band good video
This is virtuoso level Rock singing. Incredible! My biggest influence.
LU gramm is Foreigner 💪✅🍀no question asked❤️🔥
💯💯💯
Saw Foreigner on a bill with Aerosmith; headliner, AC/DC, VanHalen, Pat Travers. Foreigner was great. A class act. They cared about their sound and music. They really gave us a great show. One of the most memorable. Great band.
All I want to go back to the best of times. We are truly in the worst of times. Listening to music soothes the soul for sure. The 70's and some 80's will always live in infamy .Long live Rock n Roll !!
Still rockin this in July 2023 💛✨
I'm rocking it in March 2024
Double vision,great rock tune!!!
Wish I could go back .,... 80s were the best!!!!
This is the foreigner that I know

Great band love them!! Double vision my favorite❤❤
Musicians had all around talent back then , lyrics, vocals, instrumental , showmanship and performance . I grew up in THE GOLDEN AGE , and I'm so grateful . love and peace to all of you out there.
This song reminds me of being 8 years old. I fucking love it.
That Double Vision always seems to get the best of me...
Another great classic 💯 Thank you for keeping the great classic tunes alive ❤
Best music ever .
In my heart,in my soul. Best.
What a phenomenal band. It’s all in the songwriting.
And in the singing. And in the arranging. And in the playing. And in the recording and mixing : )
This song rocks!
Lou Gramm pure talent ❤
A true rock anthem
Maybe its just me, but I think Lou had the best singing voice. Love Foreigner since I first heard them early 80s
Don’t forget mr. Steven Perry
Brad Delp
Best voice ever. Saw them in concert 1977
Freddie Mercury had the best. This fella is good though.
He didn’t. Dio had best voice. Closely followed by Ian Gillan.
