Tyler: I'm doing the responsible thing.
Also Tyler : *casts defense grid*
Watching the process of building the deck and then watching the deck play was a huge insight for a casual player. Thanks for that.
Where do I find this podcast? I wanted to see the process of building too.
100$ agree
Best vocal warmup I've ever seen.
Also, interestingly, the Toxic Deluge would go to exile since Dauthi would move to the grave after the spell resolves as a state based action.
I always forget the way wrath/damnation works is not the same as the way deluge works. Good catch.
Matt's pop off with Inalla is great to see as a fellow Inalla player!
This was a helpful reminder as to why 'defense grid, tutor for next turn, pass' is a terrible idea lmao
Tyler says there's nothing in his deck that would've stopped Thassa, but I'm surprised he didn't grab a Red Elemental Blast to at least try. He wouldn't have been able to cast Dargo if he wanted to hold up REB, but still...
Edit: AND passing the turn after casting a defense grid? Ok I'm really not understanding Tyler this game hahaha. Teach me your thoughts Tyler!
He was under Wrynmare and Sphere, so if he wanted to cast his commander, he could have only afford a free spell.
I LOVE that we got 2 games this time! More of that please!
Two games?? What a treat! Both were awesome, glad that the new deck turned out alright.
You know its a good game when you need a flow chart to follow along lmfao
I love how the "Begin!" At the, well, beginning are slowly becoming more and more deep fried, can't wait to see what it looks like in a year lol
Defense grid is a TERRIBLE card unless you're winning that turn, is very similar to casting wheels and passing the turn, you just give other player a free win.
Seeing Rumplestiltskin do well after hearing it be brewed on the pod was certainly a cool experience, and then seeing Inalla do the thing as a long time Inalla player made happy. Great games this week y’all!
Now when do we get the Play To Win fan club that has us use a decoder to find out we should be watching more play to win?
Defense Grid and pass... That's a bold strategy Cotton, let's see if it pays off for them...
Happy to see 2 games! I've been wanting to be a patron for so long! But can't work right now on my green card, rip. Glad to see cams deck one. Who knew tymna was good
Found a Dimir Araumi list that has complex reanimation loops similar to the scholar and its so much fun learning to pilot, might eventually turn into Inalla but for now im having fun
Learning how you build this deck and after giving a little thought and discussion with my pod we’re now also discussing on if I should make my own deck like yours Cam because seeing how that Tymna allows the constant card draw and Malcolm gives the mana and seeing that even though some Stax and beat down from other players still able to pull out a win really inspired me to think about if I should make Malcolm the partner for my Tymna deck but I might need to change the deck around a little bit and play play it a few times to see how it does but my original thought for my first CEDH deck is a turbo style deck to pull a win before any other player can deal enough damage or play any Stax or crippling effect to change my game plan so I’m half and half of making Malcolm my partner pair for my Tymna CEDH deck
The Serra Ascendant should have died to delayed blast fireball since his life total went below 30 and the ascendant had 2 damage on it.
Came here to find this comment! Lol
Hey y'all! I am trying to understand Matt's winning line but one part confuses me. When he grabs persist and culling with his scholar that all is good, makes 10000000 black mana. But then he changes the loop to persist and entomb to entomb his whole deck. When he changes to this secondary loop I don't see how he is getting scholar to the graveyard. Can someone please help me learn this line better?
He uses culling the weak to sacrifice it, uses persist to bring it back and then it brings back the culling the weak and the entomb
TWO games! I am blessed!
This channel is amazing honestly- the attention to detail is incredible, even down to the starting hand count at the beginning of the game
Great video as always, we are never debenefited when a Play To Win video drops
That fucking defense grid banter was amazing hahah
Where can I find those coloured mana token things? See them used with Korvold a lot
I how this is one of those like 42365 interactions all on the stack, I'm excited by that flow chat comment, LET'S GOOOOOO!
Where can I find the Inalla decklist?
I believe the word Dylan is looking for is detriment
that was a great win from Cam! wp!
As someone who is brand new to cEDH and has never seen Inalla before this video, it took me WAY TOO LONG to figure out how Matt was looping Persist and Entomb. I think I managed to brain blast it but someone let me know if I'm mistaken.
With infinite black, and Scholar of the Ages in the graveyard, Entomb a card, then cast Persist targeting Scholar. On Scholar etb, Inalla trigger copies the Scholar to return Persist and Entomb to hand, then the original Scholar returns Culling the Weak. Cast Culling on the nontoken Scholar to return it to graveyard, then repeat. Right???
Dylan's face in 'Begin' is so dang cursed
Music for first part of game two?
Great video!
Could you please tell me where dylan got that vampiric tutor alter sleeve? Its soooo cool!!
It’s an alter by legacy alters
I keep seeing the small tokens for tracking mana. Where did you guys get these tokens?
Minor detail, but anyone know why Tyler bolted the fyndhorn elves instead of the bop around the 4 minute mark? It seems like you'd rather hit the flying dork that can tap for all colors
Debenefitted ... will use for sure :D Also two hot games...wow
LETS GOOOO ANOTHER VIDEO !!
Toxic Deluge gets exiled since it's not a wrath. It doesnt destroy creatures, its the statebased effects that do.
How does one pay for Esper sentinel trigger with a mana crypt on the stack?
How did that Serra ascendant stay when he delayed fireball blast? It did 2 damage to everything creature and cam was at 27 which loses its pump because he’s no longer at 30 or above
where are dylans thrasios and tymna from? are they a specialty set or secret lair, etc.?
Nice game! if you want to cast tainted pact (in response to thassa's oracle) you need to maintain priority.
How does looping entomb and persist work? The scholar of the ages has to be sacced by culling ritual to get it to enter over and over right? I'm sure I'm missing something but not sure what
same i dont get what's the sac outlet for "part B" of the loop
EDIT : Once you're at infinite mana you can make copies with Inalla
Where did Cam get those ful art dual land proxies? Those are nice
For the between games cameo I’d love for you guys to do a toonami dbz theme skit lmao
is there a link for the inalla list?
Where did Cam got those beautiful dual land proxies?
Defense Grid, pass turn 😱
Is this the tymna Malcolm list from Friday’s podcast?
Any link to that Inalla list? The Persist, Culling, Entomb line was really interesting.
I believe that's just the standard inalla list ? I've seen dudes playing that at my LGS and they aren't exactly genius brewers.
@@thedoctor1471 Gotta double check but I think you're right
I dont really understand the way matt is wining the second game. The infinite black mana is logical but how does he loop persist and entomb because he need to get them back in his hand to loop them but for that he needs the scholar to die and reanimate, so i dont get how he kills the scholar in the second loop.
He makes infinite black mana and then can tribute scholar off every single time with Culling the Weak to get more black mana but it gets Scholar back in the grave to loop Persist and Entomb which lets him endlessly revive Scholar and reuse Entomb to put his whole deck in the grave and then Persist Thoracle back on field.
Also forgot to mention that every time you can pay for the Inalla trigger to make a copy of the Scholar which means he'll always have a scholar on board to get Culling back to tribute and remake another copy to persist and keep casting entomb.
That combo by MATT is lit.
I liked this episode a lot.
whats the music at 7:17 ?
This was a great follow up to the podcast. I'd be interested to hear Cam's thoughts on the deck. Seemed to go really well first game, I'd be happy.
jetmir is my favorite commander to play atm because of how obvious a threat he is, it really takes some politics to win but it always feels doable
Sperling is one of my favorite pros glad to see him playing magic where personality can shine!!
Loved the Swedish accent for a bit there Cam
Cool to see how Stax and mid range interaction game 1. And the game to line was played out and explained in such a clean way.
Watching Cam's deck in action right after the podcast in which you built it was very insightful experience : a lot of "oh yeah, they talked about this" moments.
That Ryuk token is SICK!
Matt Sperling is such good person!!!
I thought Dylan forgot to take 2 for the hallowed fountain but then realized his life was properly accounted for after paying 1 for the fetch. Could also just be that I'm running on 3 hours of sleep and getting home from an 8 hour shift 😅
I was sooo ready to be like OOOOOO Dylan didn't pay the 2 😂
Good games all around as usual fellas 😁
Guys its Rump*EL*stiltskin. But I respect the brew.
I'm wondering why Matt tutored for an Ad nauseam instead of just going for the spellseeker line as he has 4 mana and nobody was going to stop him anyways.
Yeah. He had to deal with the Dauthi Voidwalker, but could do it with Spellseeker + snap + Essence flux and follow up with the usual SS combo line.
There still would be Dylans Esper sentinel which makes him draw some cards, but Dylan was out of mana and therefore no threat to Matt.
@@mikegiannakopoulos6819 U are right, I mixed this up.
If Matt mistepped the mul to 4 esper sentinel it would have been so hilarious but obviously the wrong play lol
Woke up to two great games by play to win what a jam funny I just made t&t and I’m already taking it apart just can’t keep up I feel like my azami deck plays faster and police the table better but tymna Malcolm seems fun and more my play style so I might go that route
cEDH staple: Scholar of the Ages😮. Great games guys! Love how the podcast matched the deck of choice for Cam this week. Keep up the good work.
Yes! Time for Sunday morning CEDH!
Almost looks like Cam should lean on using stacks for what his deck is, considering he just has to attack and he gains card advantage and mana advantage with separate commanders.
For as poorly as the Tymna/Thrasios did both games i will still argue they were the highest probability to winning both games as they go into a special category of competitive where your commander option(s) gives you both card advantage and ability to win the game. And no Thrasios/Tymna is not alone, there are i think six other commander options in the category and believe it or not one of them is an uncommon.
Why didn't Tyler bolt the bird instead of the elf?
I think I saw some forgetting multiple tax effects existed?
Great games. Love to see an Inalla win. Loved seeing Rumpelstiltskin in action and a win!
I think that tyler could have killed matt when he casted toxic deluge making each oponnent lose 2 life with the ability of death rite shaman on the stack. Because deathrite wasn't with summoning sickness.
Unfortunately no, every instant/sorcery that had been played was exiled by Dauthi Voidwalker, so Deathrite didn’t have anything to target.
I was surprised Matt didn't grab a bounce wizard to make infinite mana and infinite wizard tokens to then win with inala activations
Venser and Aether Channeler/Adept go infinite with the dockside too and don’t require the graveyard either! Wizards are fun!
Not all inalla lists run those
Edit: "not all" includes this one. So no bounce wizards in this list.
@@MK-13337 actually none use it so i thought i should share
Where do I buy Cam’s mat from???
And if he is just playing on a tshirt, I swear to god 😂😂
That is the playmat you receive for joining the $50 Patreon
@@PlaytoWinMTG And here I was thinking you only got the post-bbjebus shout out. Thanks! I'll head over!
Yooo, can we appreciate Dylan’s Ryuk token? DN is my favorite anime. I built a commander deck based on it a while ago
I will say I've just watched the podcast 10 minutes ago and thought huh I hope Cam's deck works well. Now I get to see it! Talk about good timing
My favorite Goblin Pirate is Breeches
i dont know why but Cam's little "wow" when Dylan swung the 3 spirits at him had me rolling
It was interesting to see the stack involved with that Inala win. Haven't seen someone win with a combination like that
Sperling is the best, I only wish he brought out his slicer list. Still a treat to see him on here.
Can we get a decklist for Inalla pls?
Moxfield link has been updated
Can u play a game with FreedomWaffle playing his Dargo//Thrasios?!?!?!
For the algarythem
Once matt has infinite black mana he says he’s looping entomb and persist. How is this possible? Is it just implied that he also dumps 1 mana into the inalla trigger to also bring back culling the weak? Otherwise I don’t see how scholar can be looped…
I said it on another comment but I can retype.
Once he has made infinite black mana, he can keep recasting Persist, bring back Scholar, get Entomb and Culling the Weak, paying for the Inalla trigger to get another Scholar trigger but holding priority, saccing the one he brings back with Persist to Culling the Weak, putting it back in the grave and then playing Entomb, essentially looping it, putting his whole deck in the grave since the Inalla trigger will resolve, get back Persist and Culling the Weak and letting him do it all over again with the one being revived getting two of the three and the copy getting Persist and Entomb.
Another win for team gRiXiS wooooooo
Nice games! Yeah Inalla has weird lines you don't dee in any other decks. Cool. ❤❤❤
Keep the content coming guys!
Tyler playing something other than Kinnan? Is that legal?
BEGIN but green and high pitched
Dylan has to be cooked in this video lmao
IT DOESN'T MATTER!!!!😂😂😂
I might build inalla now, it looks really fun
It doesn't change anything but game one Serra Ascendent should have been dead. You feel to 29 and now SA is a 1/1 with 2 damage
Oooof, casting defense grid and not doing anything feels mega bad.
Pog
Dis-benefitingly un-bad. Matt came out swingin in that first game!!!
Love seeing the Inalla pop off
Defense Grid, pass is still probably the worst play you can make in cEDH
Haha cam going in on Tyler in game 2 was very funny and def reasonable
Hindered* i got you dylan
I am so glad to see that jetmir stax is becoming popular because it is so fun to play
I absolutely enjoy your videos while I'm stocking at work. It's a great mix of podcast vibes with the game play aspect still not lost. The patreon named Baby Jeebus makes me giggle every time. 😂
