Unless I'm losing my mind. Did Bailey have the mana to win in that first game? 6 total. Spent 3 on spell seeker, 1 to copy it with inalla. Then 2 for shallow grave which leaves 0?

You can't hold priority after asking if anyone has a response. Asking if someone has a response IS PASSING PRIORITY!

@@spicybagels you announce a spell, pay the costs, then pass priority. Asking if someone has a response isn't an actual part of the process and can therefore only correctly be interpreted as passing priority.
I suppose I should add the caveat "that as the caster of the spell..."
The opponents may certainly ask each other if they have responses.
