i love how ishai works in cedh. it's just this big bungus with evasion that randomly kills people if the game doesn't end fast enough. it just casually became a 19/19 with flying and could have easily ended the game if there where just a bit backing it up.
i play the same thing but run ways to give him unlockable double strike and trample at instant speed sometimes im gross and give him that sweet sweet lifelink

3:51 Cam would have had priority before Dylan. Priority does not begin again with the active player until the stack is completely resolved. Cam was the next player in turn order after the giver of runes was activated so he would have received priority first
No, the active player gains priority whenever the topmost object of the stack resolves.
"117.3b The active player receives priority after a spell or ability (other than a mana ability) resolves."
@@therealax6 You stopped reading too early. Read 117.3c and 117.3d.
@@thekilla1234 117.3c refers to casting, not resolving. (When you cast something, you retain priority and can cast more things. This just puts them all on the stack - nothing has resolved yet.)
117.3d simply defines 'passing' as taking no actions - this definition is invoked when the rules later on say that the spells resolve and phases end when players "pass in succession".

Anna activated Giver of Runes and put it's ability on the stack.
117.3c gives Anna priority.
Anna didn't add anything else to the stack (took no additional actions) so 117.4d passes priority to the next player which is Cam.
Dylan should not get priority after Anna passes priority with the Giver of Runes activation on the stack. Tyler's response would have been identical if Giver of Runes resolved and then priority would have gone to Dylan, but Tyler said "uhm" with the activation on the stack and Dylan said "priority starts with me because I'm the active player", which is wrong. In this situation it didn't really matter but if you're gonna bring up the rules then it does matter and Dylan should have asked Cam if he had any responses before declaring his own actions.

I'm pro proxy, but it's really hard to keep track of which cards were played in anna's deck. Glare didn't helped either.

Absolutely love Malcolm in any pairing. This pairing is much more superior to Breeches. The Drift of Phantasms transmute for Glinthorn is mint! Love the deck, Dylan!!

Would cam get a token after the rift went off because skyclave wasn’t on the board anymore?
He didn't say specifically but I'm assuming he put ishai back in the command zone, in which case no token.
@@Dragynstone1202 it still technically would be exiled by skyclave. He chose to replace the trigger with sending it to command zone. With changes that happened with death triggers it still technically should be “exiled” under skyclave.

The token creation refers to "the exiled card". If there isn't a card exiled at the time it leaves the battlefield no token is made.

@@wumpster5 That's how it would've worked with the old rules, but the new rules ("new" as in sometime in 2020, I believe) don't make it a replacement effect anymore: it's moved to the command zone a state-based action from exile (or from the graveyard), so that death triggers and the like will work. (Moving it from your hand or library to the command zone is still a replacement effect.) Since the card is moved _after_ reaching exile (it's no longer a replacement effect), Skyclave Apparition's effect doesn't track it moving further into new zones.
"704.6. Some variant games include additional state-based actions that aren’t normally applicable:
[...]
704.6d In a Commander game, if a commander is in a graveyard or in exile and that object was put into that zone since the last time state-based actions were checked, its owner may put it into the command zone. See rule 903, “Commander.”"

Am I the only one who saw the turn 1 swamp into deafening silence and had a lot of questions? i realise that scrubland was declared, but it took me a moment to process.

No, because Ranger-Captain of Eos only says that opponents can't _cast_ noncreature spells. Once the spell is already on the stack, it has been cast, and the ability does nothing.
But doing that in response to Underworld Breach makes the thing useless. Yes, the Breach resolves, but it's not really useful if you can't use it to cast noncreature spells out of your graveyard.

@@danielhughes7088 Deafening Silence says "Each player can't cast more than one noncreature spell each turn." they cast 1 non creature spells and 2 creature spells so its legal play. But they did mess up at 6:20 Archon of emeria with mana crypt and then casting hanger back walker as Archon says "Each player can't cast more than one spell each turn.". Otherwise they played the deck well good video Play to Win!

Good game but Anna’s board state was hard to follow
Perhaps I'm missing something, and please forgive me if I am, but why was Anna pretty much hated out of the game?
I get that they were playing a stax deck, but isn't Kinnan on the surface scarier?

I could go into a lot of detail on why but the tl;dr is that it's hard to win through Deafening Silence. Your win condition can't cast more than one non-creature spell, which Malcolm can do, but more importantly you can only ever cast one interaction spell per turn vs the 3 your opponents can cast, so in theory you can never resolve your win condition because you will always get out-gunned on the stack.
Killing Kinnan means you are left staring down a player with Deafening Silence that now has 1 less player to worry about and can take their time building up even more one-sided stax to win. Killing the player with Deafening Silence allows you to combo before Kinnan and can now interact with him as much as you need to if he tries to win, or interact as much as you need to when you try to combo.
Deafening Silence can obviously be dealt with in other ways like the Rift/Wheel combo Dylan did, but he can't know he's gonna draw an answer so he may as well start looking to remove it by killing the player as early as possible.
Dylan gave Tyler the win.
It was a risky call, but I would have done the same thing. No risk no reward.

1.Don't kill Tyler first.
2. Not ensuring that Tyler is beated before killing the second player.
