Hi..I’ll be moving to Quebec in two months with my family, my husband speaks French and English well good for him, I only speak English, I’ll rate my french to 2% 🤣 my kids are 2 and 4 years they only can speak and understand English. Language barrier is one of my challenges which I do not want to repeat since I lived in Chonavfor 5 years using translation, I know how much frustrating it is living in that kind of system. To your experience which city in Quebec would you recommend is better for people who fear struggling like you due to language Barrie and kids??? Thanks

Hi..Thanks for watching..You can reside in Dorval or perrefonds situated in Montreal because majority of English speakers resides there. I don’t think you are going to face so much challenges since your husband understands French but I suggest you start learning and continue to learn French language when you finally move.As for the kids they can easily learn French since they are still very young.Congratulations and good luck on your journey to 🇨🇦

One of the questions I have been asking myself is why do native English speakers want to settle in Quebec knowing that 90% of all Canadian provinces are English speaking provinces?
Why do you all make your life miserable.
I personally would never do that. No tike to learn another language unless I'm being forced to for a particular reason.

Why do you stay in Montreal?:- did Canada Immigration insist on residency in Montreal as a condition of immigration? If you have PSW training you can easily find work in eastern Ontario and the Ottawa Valley such as in Pembroke and Renfrew but you need a car there. You could also find work easily in Ottawa where they have public transit. You should talk to your friends at your church to ask if they could help you resettle in a better place for you in eastern Ontario which is not very far for you to move:- perhaps they have a sister congregation in eastern Ontario who could help you. You seem to belong to a Catholic parish so there are many Catholic parishes in Ottawa and one of them might be able to help you relocate to a more friendly community.

To save a few hopeful people, having lived in Montreal for 1 year, and being raised Canadian. I can tell you that not all of this is true. Yes you will struggle to integrate into the culture if you don’t know French, but you can absolutely live in an English community. West of Montreal (Kirkland) is very anglophone, so is westmount, and Decarer. There were cases when I spoke French yet was responded in English - I didn’t like that very much, but it is what it is.
Not only this, we have a lot of exchange workers from South American countries to support our fast food industry so there is a work. It just might not be the work you are looking for.
If you are still hesitant, I’d say become at least an A2 level French, or move to Alberta.
