  • Joel Nelson and Nick Lindner break down the in's and out's of jig trolling for deep water crappies. This tactic works well in summer around deep weed lines, as well as in fall over structure and deep basin areas.

Mimic minnows are Hmong approved 👌

If I want to know if the fish are biting.....I just watch my friendly Hmong neighbors, I swear they have fish radar. I'll be out in my boat crappie fishing, and we coordinate and they'll point where they are, and I'll use my boat to kind of keep the crappies "corralled" in the part of the marina we're fishing. The old mama-sons and the little kids love my dog, she "talks" at them and keeps them entertained, and tries to help me with the fish when I bring them in the boat, haha.

    What is an optimal speed?

.5-1mph kind like you're pulling crawler harnesses for walleyes.
