You gotta give it a try, it can be a blast. It's a little slower pace than trolling crankbaits, because the trolling speed is about 1/2, so you really need to use down/side scan to make sure you're in water where crappie are there and suspended so you have a shot at them. Jim, you gotta give it a try, it can be a blast. The bite this day was a little slower, because it was later in the morning. I don't think speed really effects the hookup percentages. Keeping contact pressure reeling them in, and getting them up on the top of the water and skiing them in is key, similar to trolling crankbaits. Thanks for watching, Semper Fi Brother!

Why would anyone troll for crappie? Just curious.
It's a really effective technique post-spawn and through the summer, when the crappie suspend in schools over deeper water. If you enjoy crappie fishing, I'd highly recommend trolling jigs, or crankbaits (I have a different video on that technique). Thanks for watching!
