    I purchased my 2023 Outer Bend off the lot and it didn't have the AUX switches as part of the build. I really wanted the factory look and eventually found the video @Middleton Motorsports put out on the install. After watching it several times, I sent some emails to Middleton on questions I had. They responded quickly and completely. Early last week, I made the decision to purchase the complete kit from @Middleton Motorsports and it arrived the other day. Yesterday afternoon, I installed the kit and tested it with some lights--works brilliantly. No programming or anything else needed. The kit came with the replacement fuse/distribution box, wiring harness, and the upfitter switches for the console. The video was VERY helpful in getting through the install. It's quite easy and I'm so glad I did mine this way. Yes, it was expensive, but since the AUX switches weren't part of my build and I wanted the factory look the easiest way possible, this solutions was my best bet. Anyway, I would highly recommend this solution, as it just worked.

      My outer banks (Lux/Premium) came with the correct fusebox panel from the factory) I ordered the switches and harness but haven't put them in yet.

    This definitely a 100% top notch video. I can't imaging what the labor cost would be for a dealer/shop to do this for you. This is why I ordered mine with these switches. Whew!

    Video doesn't make it look as bad as expected. Especially when you snap out the old box and snap in the new, that was the part that worried me the most. Come back with a decent price and I may end up doing this on the brother in laws Bronco for him. Thanks for the video.

    • @vipercrazy
      @vipercrazy Před rokem +1

      There were some components Ford was removing during assembly that could be installed later when components were available. For example, some Explorer trims that came with heated rear seats and rear climate control from factory had all the components for the heated rear seats and rear climate except for the module that gave the rear passengers access to those controls. There were other models that had other missing components and when parts became available, Ford released recalls to owners of affected vehicles so they could have their features working. Check to see if you have such a recall/notice. It was either this or vehicles sat in a storage yard waiting for these parts and owners complain that its taking to long to get their vehicle. There always the possibility of a misbuild, even though it's optioned, the feature just never got installed. Both of these scenarios would have nothing to do with the dealer.

    This is a great thorough video. Extremely helpful. Just one piece of criticism: he says not to over tighten the bolts on the fuse box as you are going into plastic however, please note that if you do not tighten them enough, your car will have no power. I was scratching my head on this for 2 days. I read on a forum that just about everyone who attempted this installation themselves ran into this same issue. MAKE SURE YOU PUSH DOWN HARD ON THE BOLTS WHEN TIGHTENING THEM. They will jump a few times until they eventually catch and get nice and snug. It’s at this time point you should be careful not to over tighten. The other thing I’d like to mention is I broke one of my bolts holding the airbag setting my torque wrench to 9nm. So I think the actual setting should be more like 5nm.

      You need to make sure they fully seat but once the connectors are seated you don't want to overtighten them. You can tell by how many turns it takes to remove them and install them. If the connector isn't lined up properly it will not pull into the fuse box.

    • @MiddletonMotorsports
      @MiddletonMotorsports  Před rokem +2

      We have sold 20+ of these units and the couple times it didn't work was when the connectors were not seated into the fuse box before tightening the screws. Both were fixed when the customers went back and made sure that the connectors were seated properly. We offer free support on these products so anyone having questions during install can call us at 608-831-7725

    Excellent video, TYVM for posting it, very helpful. Could you also please add instructions on programming the computer? I understand programming is technically not needed, but I do not want to be denied warranty service because there is a BCMC disagreement code.

      Are you sure this is the right part numbers? We used these numbers and we are pretty sure this fuse box is incorrect. It didnt look any different than the factory fuse box as in no extra prongs etc. for different fuses. We are a Ford dealership in Canada trying this solution for a customer and my service department is suggesting I order a different fuse box now that we installed the one posted and they are not working.

    I think with some digging around and removal of the sunglass holder only , you could find switches just like this and find something to mount in that same spot that looks factory. Maybe even use the inside of the sunglass holder to make some stealth switches that you can just open it and use them when needed and close it when not needed.

    Is there a way to remove the center interior trim piece at 11:46 without doing the side trims and A pillar trims and harness? I'm just trying to replace the 5 weather seal bolts that run across the windshield frame. They have a backing nut on the interior covered by the center trim piece.

    • @MiddletonMotorsports

      Yes it is, The only place it is not wired properly is from the Aux Switch Upfitter panel and the fuse box that needs to be swapped out. The rest of the wiring is all there.

    Would that new harness be the same harness in the base model if it came with aux switches for the factory? Reason I ask is if the new harness has provisions for auto dimming mirror than maybe I can add one to my base model that has aux switches if it has the same new harness you’re using. Thanks.

    Question I have a base model. Your system is plug n play system, do the Bronco's come pre wired for Aux lights because I found some wiring harnesses that are not connected to anything?

    • @MiddletonMotorsports

      This video was on a base model. The wiring was in there from the factory just not the switches and fuse box to support it. Our kit allows it to work.
