Goodmorning John be safe
It is utter stupidity to put your hand near the mouth of a horse you do not know intimately!
16:36 . It's stupidity to not read the signs that have been posted. One lady got pulled down by the horse. She thought the signs and our tourist who were warning her were a joke. She learned it was no joke.
Happy New Year, John.
Got to say, I watch these podcasts as much to listen to your commentary omg you make me laugh, wonderful 👍
Thank you for making the comment about tourists not getting out of the way of the horses without being told. I know they hear the horses when they are coming. The tourists are offended when they are shouted at but the most of them will not do as instructed until they are shouted at. The highest level of stupidity.😮
Exactly
Best thing ever was in the hot summer months when Pagan smiled after getting drink of water simply beautiful. Xxxxx
Yes I remember that?😁😁😁
The (new) horse without a hoof number is the beautiful 'Harvester' 🐴❤
Simplesmente um espetáculo de cavalo 🐴 ❤❤
Thank you for letting us know.
❤ ❤ 🐴 ❤ ❤
We did see Harvester a little while back. Several senior horses this weekend - Harvester, Hastings, Hydrobad, Infinity. And also some young ones - Yvonne, Yeastvite and Youngman. I can sort of see a 0 on Harvester’s hoof and maybe a 7 before it?
I agree. The hoof paint's shine makes it more challenging to make it out. Also, the task of stamping the hoof may have been poorly done.
Thanks, John.
Cheers. D.
People really need to stop putting their hands in and around these horse's mouths! When you present your hand flatly, it's indicative of the way a horse is given a treat, so they chomp down. If you don't have your hand completely flat, you can't blame the horse for nibbling on what they may sense as a treat, your fingers. When the horse bites, as people feed their hand to them, the horse gets the blame! Where there are no regulations concerning these horses and guards, this will continue to occur!
Keep educating the masses John! 👍
I was taught that visiing family in Ireland when I was 3. just in case..I have never forgotten it. Well done Dad.
Well said Kimberly! ...l cringe when people stroke/tickle the end of horses noses, inviting their fingers to horses mouths ! Isn't it obvious the horse will bite? Who wouldn't bite if someone starts playing with your lips? 😅
@@jennybrown3848
Thanks Jenny! You'd think people would be more alert to the obvious dangers of sticking their hands in and around a horse's nose and mouth. But it seems that most people that do this are just oblivious!
Good on you! Heard the conversation. Was that Buska you were talking to ? You two are the most
ethical of all.😊
Yes, had a brief chat with Buska. 👍🏻
I agree, couldn’t sleep last night so watched a couple of Buska’s videos and subbed to him. I’ve noticed the absence of those twins, hopefully they’ve gone away with their tails between their legs.
A new sign is needed. NO hot drinks near the horses!
Given the huge numbers of tourists that put themselves at risk going too close to the horses: it is amazing how few are actually injured.
I've been stood on by my horse when I had one. And trust me, John. It bloody hurts. In actual fact, he broke 2 bones in my foot. Lol
Ouch! I’m sure that did hurt. My horse stepped on my foot too. Fortunately, we were in an arena with deep sand and I had fairly thick boots on too so it did hurt, but it was tolerable and nothing was broken.
Same thing happened to me. My stallion broke two toes through my boots.
The horse and guard shouldn’t be punished for what happens to the idiots
Bravo for educating the young man.😉
I Believ I saw the edge of a Yamaca under the young man’s hoodie. If, indeed he is part of the ultra orthodox sect, he probably would not have guessed or been advised that his staring at close range to the Guard was not respectful. That would answer my question as to why Chassidic men tend to stare at length at the guards.
These horses have so much patience, stroked, patted, reins pulled, screeches from people who stand close to the horse and then it moves. Love your commentary and your laugh.
It's because they are military trained subjected to noisy environments, like crowds and sudden bangs etc very much like british metropolitan police horses units
Tourists seriously need to be EDUCATED about this place, before they visit. This STUPID Indulgence of the tourists is INSANE. Tourists should stop assuming, seeing this place, and touring the Great City of London, through Rose Tinted Glasses. !!!! 🇬🇧💂🐎🌹👓
The horses aren't dangerous! Idiots (being the greater percentage of humanity) are in their obvious stupidity. A horse cannot see at the end of his/her nose because of eye placement. At the end of a horse's nose are whiskers (unless shaved) as the only tactile evidence a horse has. A hand at nose end suggests to the horse an offering (like a carrot or apple) to the horse who will nibble in anticipation. Good luck to stupid people with curled fingers. So tell me who the more intelligent species is on Earth. For the most part, I don't think it's humans.
Here's a scary thought. What if the Lady was from London?
John, she actually stuck her fingers in the horses mouth. How crazy that was.Serves her right.
Not from a military horse: one day I was at the horse farm where I boarded my horse. I was talking to the farm owner about my horse, when another boarding horse (not mine) reached over a stall door, top teeth on on the front of me, lower teeth on my shoulder blade; picked me UP off my feet!!! By her teeth. It hurt immensely and I was shocked how much damage that horse did with her teeth. Do not mess with teeth. (Signed lifelong horse devotee)
Interestingly, the lady who the guard had to stop from petting; the horse didn't like her energy to begin with...upon her approach.
I feel sorry for the lady but her own fault it clearly states that the horses may bite or kick not the horses fault
A lot of people denie the warning sign and believe horses are friendly and wouldn’t bite
I forgot to mention those horses were raised and trained like soldiers, security guards. Don’t expect them to be gentle. They’re just annoyed from being touched countless time.
Horses from farms. Theyre bloody kind.
@@christophermichaelclarence6003 i totally understand with what you are saying they have to be treated with respect and to be honest so does any horse.
@@annarnall4750 Indeed. Respect the horses. Just take a quick photo
what people need to remember that these horses are part of the military and no matter the training you are clearly warned the horses will bite!
The Captain is impressive
The Captain is gorgeous. 😍

Just this site im housebound and easily spend couple of hours on here . Love the way you collecting horses names. I always like to know them
Please keep this going best thing on utube thankyou. I used to be up were you are everyday 4 or 5 years ago. I feel I'm still there thanks to you xxxx
So glad you called the guy out. The guards really do deserve respect. Where do the police disappear to, was it coffee time????
Why do people always criticise police? Yes maybe they were in a break. Are you allowed a break at work? Do u spend your entire work day on your feet, highly vigilant for the full time, on alert to keep everyone safe, ready to put your life on the line? No? They are allowed to have a break and sometimes they are not “Johnny on the spot” but that doesn’t mean they deserve bad mouthing.
The Ministry of Defence Police are there to ensure public safety as well to oversee security inside the yard. The weird guy was not a threat, but his body language was utterly bizarre.
@@LondonCityWalks it certainly was strange! I think it’s terrific you call out poor behaviour towards the guards.
When I worked for them breaks were taken in shifts
My favorite Guard sitting on the most splendard horses every time he comes out. He is always so calm while keeping alert. Another enjoyable time John. Thank you: Kiwi
I grew up around horses. I was taught at a young age, dont stick your hand out like your going to feed them if you dont have anything to feed them. If you are going to feed them a treat, hold your palm flat so your fingers dont get bit.
I’ve no sympathy for ignorance. Good thing I’m not a Kings Guard! Love your clips. Thank you from Bermuda.
Victoria is a very beautiful horse and very big. Wow, wow, amazing.❤❤❤❤❤
The mystery horse has lovely whiskers. 🥰 Guards, horses and public seem very relaxed today. Great video thanks John. 😃
Hope the guards don’t get in trouble for these stupid people
Great to see this Captain, John!
That Captain is the one in the documentary about the Horse Guards .
I absolutely love how you put people in their place! Love your videos. 😊
Hahaha where’s Wally staring at the guard will definitely become a meme at some point. Very disrespectful though. So glad you told him.
Well touch the horse you get bit. Your own fault
It was great seeing the magnificent Pretoria again. ❤❤
Thanks John!
John I stated she was lucky the horse didnt take the hole finger ,i got called a Callous Englander, not only stupid but ignorant, i stated im Australian ,i know how bad it could of been as I have trained many young racehorses
ANYone familiar with horses, knows she got off lightly..... I've stated the same as you tho possibly in more colourful language and anyone that wants to call me ignorant can have at it..... Don't change the facts.
If they read the sign they would know NOT to put their hand near the horses mouth
Hi again, fantastic video very interesting, well done you telling that tourist not to stand too close, there’s always one. 😂
I learn so much listening and watching.
London is so beautiful and these gorgeous specimens of horses just fascinate me! The heraldry and uniforms transfix my imagination! Hello from Marcia in California 🌴🌊
Thank you Marcia! 🙏🏻❤️
Such beautiful horses on duty. Along with the Guards in the saddles, they all look so majestic and regal.
Such a beautiful sunny day.
Mornin’John looks lovely there today, snowing in Ottawa 😿
Horses Magnificent as ever😊
💙💜🩵🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🐎🐎🐎
Very sunny and cold in Northern Ireland today too. I’ve my heat thermostat turned up to 25 🥶🥶
If you stick your fingers into the horses mouth, what do you think will happen. Horses have very sharp teeth and have been known to actually bite digits off. Why don't they realise that the sign is clear. Fingers always bleed badly the skin on the finger tips is very thin and the blood near the surface. In have no sympathy with someone stupid enough to put their hands near the horses mouth, the horse does give them a chance to stop mauling their mouth about. Then gets fed up and close their mouth harder and it is really much harder to remove the hand from the horses mouth, he isn't to blame. This wouldn't happen if the tourists were kept away from the guards and horses. Don't blame Valerian it was totally the tourists fault at all, I hope he does come out again.
Hi John 😊 FYI I thought you said you were asked not to give out numbers. Thanks for the fun and information you give us.
The hoof numbers are on public display. I won't be announcing those -as well as- the horse names. 🐴🐴
I’ve noticed all these horses that the guards ride are very very beautiful and handsome animals well-built some very stocky, and look like they can really endure a long days work, but to be chosen as one of the special horses, they have to have some kind of special quality to thembecause these animals are just beautiful❤❤❤❤❤
WELL SAID IGNORANCE OF WHAT THESE GUARDS DO REALLY ISNT AN EXCUSE. Y WOULD A PERSON FEEL HE CAN DO THAT
Hello from Yuba City, CA. Oh my sad the lady got biten by the horse, but there again it is an animal and can see what is in it's mouth so for all it knew it was a treat. It's like here in the states ignorant tourist get out of their cars to get close to the Bison in the State Parks. We recently was blessed to be able to visit a park with Bison and the last thing on our minds was to get out of the car.
Whilst I understand that the King’s Guard or the powers that be do not like the shouting at tourists they are missing the point. While there are many different languages amongst the tourists each and every person in the world understands what a shout means.
Pretoria is very aristocratic, he has a very graceful carriage of his neck.... Extremely handsome horse.
You’re right John those horses are absolutely gorgeous. I bet you when they check them in the stables the pic which one that’s going out with certain guards and which ones will be picked to be on the team they’re really scrutinized on the dispositions, but like all horses, some have a little bit of a cranky side to him, and if you have to stand in front of all those people at an hour at a time and then picking and poking at I would get a little nippy myself
Dear John: I missed the exciting live event today due to a blizzard. Might you be posting it here in future for us non-twitters? Fingers crossed. Thank you!
Yes please John. would love to see it.
Best to _not_ put fingers, especially, or hands generally, _near_- or -_in_ a horse's mouth !! Even the mildest animal may find it difficult to resist the temptation to search for a 'Polo' (mint sweetie) or cube of sugar!!
Afterall, our dear late Queen Elizabeth II was renowned for treating any number of _her_ equines with the odd 'Polo' or three - though of course, from the flat of the palm, as one should!! 🐴❤️🙂🐴🙂🏴🇬🇧😏🖖
Don"t punish the horses for defending themselves. It is their task to protect not only themselves but their Guards . Both would defend each other until the end Respect Always A J
Hello John. I must say that Pretoria is, for the most part, very, very beautiful. The place, that is.
The very tall guard who shouts and rarely smiles is playing with us. He knows we like hearing him shout, so he won't. 🙃
The young guy trying to stare out the Guard was a nasty thing to do. 😮❤
Not nasty, ignorant.
I hope you let people know the rules because it’s very annoying when you see how they are treated
Thank you John! There are some goofy ass people there I swear I dunno what they are thinking. I love how John is like the father figure there giving them advice on what to do and what not to do lol, which is a good thing because some of them needed it badly. Its really funny though some of the sarcastic remarks id be saying stuff like that too lmaooo
I’m not an expert horse person but I have always admired these beautiful horses and the guardsmen. Pretoria is a stunner and I’m sure his guardsman knows it.
This is my second time watching this and commenting! This is my favorite guard on your left, he does not tolerate idiots, he just backs the horse up and gives them that look! I Love your videos by the way, I watch them every day.
You're so funny! "Remove alk the peasantry"! LMAO 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Hold palm flat and fingers curved back if you just have to stick your hand near the horses mouth...common sense.
Its 41.
The sky is that lovely blue with that lovely glow reflecting off the buildings. Looks cold and nippy, weather wise. Thanks for the video.
Your information regarding the oerson who wanted a copy of his "mis-behavior" is not surprising. I keep saying they touch the reins on purpose. They want the shouted reprimand. It's like a badge of accomplishment. The guards quietly saying "no" is better. But, it's still an achievement that the person will go homecand brag about.
Thank you for another awesome video. John you are such a good narrator. Those horses are magnificent and the guards are outstanding carrying out their duties. Much respect to them. God bless.
I hope the horses aren't moved because stupid tourists can't control themselves 😢
I couldn't find the "Live" TikTok. All I found was those creeps. I wish you would do those with the guard on CZcams.
Maybe they should consider adding pictograms to the signs. They work a lot better at, e.g., beaches helping non native speakers worldwide understand that certain activities are inadvisable.
Every regiment has a signwriter. My brother was signwriter for Royal Highland Fusiliers for year and painted many crests, wording for both official and social purposes.
Signs should read “You have entered an active duty military installation. Obey all commands. Please respect out on duty soldiers.”
When I sing Victoria, just looking at your camera straight on. She is so regal wow she is gorgeous.❤❤❤❤❤
if someone gets bit then they have no one to blame but themselves....the sigh says clearly that horses may bite....but i've seen so many stick their hands over the mouth....so they should not be surprised if they get bit....don't feel a bit sorry for anyone that stupid
1:04:38 - that would creep me out to have a guy standing there staring like that. What was he thinking?
His entire demeanour was extremely unusual. Then when he turned I got Hannibal Lecter vibes. Thankfully he didn't fry my liver with a Chianti... 😂
I think they do it for attention myself.
Loved the mother and daughter in matching coats.
@john another great one still feeling worst for wear i bet its freezing my friend got nip last week lol couldnt stop laughing xxx
Good evening John, great video today especially with the difficult light 👍. With regard to the signs maybe they should have one either side of the box as not everyone comes from the side where the signs are now so don't understand how dangerous it can be when they go near the horses.
Silly woman, hope she ok but like any animal they will show signs of distress or irritation and sadly now the poor horse is being punished for her stupidity
That horse could have easily taken her fingers off....they can break bones. Horses have extremely strong jaw and neck muscles. They can lift an adult person with their head and toss them.😮
We watch your video almost every morning with our tea! I love the information you give us. You make us laugh every day! I hope we can say hello to you when we come to the UK in the Spring! I have my mum and daughter-in-law watching your channel as well! I have waited 22 years to get to my favourite place in the world! The UK! Our first stop, will be the horse guards! We will keep our distance, and thanks to your videos, we know what not to do! Have a great day John! Bye...from The Great White North!
I saw #41, I also saw my favorite policeman at the gate!
Maybe that odd guy was doing ,'Performance Art!!!'. 'Mr Cape Man' was Sherlock Holmes! Out on an investigation!😂😂😂😂
Yeastvite should be called Canada as their blaze looks like a maple leaf.
Brilliant video, i keep watching them...Thank u...Jeanette Ann Staffordshire...
Good evening John xxx
Had plenty of weird people when I was a guard in the 80s, some just stand and try to make you laugh or pull faces.
Goofy lady kept sticking her hand under his cloak to pet Praetoria.
Based on conflict of recent years, I’m guessing she’s named after conflict troops were involved in. Might be wild ride. Hyderabad
London City Walks when is my favorite coming back Ormonde ❤
they shouldn't blame or punish the horse if someone is stupid enought to stick their hand in the horses mouth
Ormonde only has 3 white socks and his blaze isn't so big
His blaze looks like an adjustable wrench.
Good on you for speaking to the guy stareing at the guard ,very weird.
Thank you for the video, first time in days, the sun is shining, also into the Netherlands. Nice see the sun in the arches!😊
Yes READ THE SIGNS. HORSES KICK AND ALSO BITE. Learn Before You Come. IN YOUR COUNTRY WE WOULD BE IMPRISONED. SO GET WITH THE RULES.
Playing catch up on the videos I missed over the holidays..thank you ❤️
Thoroughly enjoyed this video john. Thank you.
Omg that’s wild that poor woman fingers wow
Wow! You learn something new every day on your channel!! I had NO IDEA the horses had their number’s inscribed on their hooves! How about that!! ….Thankyou! You live and Learn!! 😘🙋♀️👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Hi John!! Excellent video and i would like to thank you for telling that moron about standing trying to outstire our Magnificent Guard when he was on duty..... complete prat. Magnificent horses and the police horses such beauty's. I'm sorry about the lady's fingers but if they read the sign they should know IT'S NOT A LIE 🤔🤔 Thank you John. ❤️❤️🇬🇧🇬🇧.
The best part is, the guy trying to stare the guard out confidently because he knows the guards wont do anything/cant do anything. We all know if that soldier gets that idiot in a room whats happening. Tourist be learning a lesson on how to treat people.
@pammy5260 That particular Trooper is a super good guy, but would have decked Wally instantly had that been anywhere else. Absolutely unacceptable idiocy to stand that close and attempt to provoke a reaction!
How stupid are people who cannot learn from seeing these injuries happen, or take advice from experts.
I think the horse with the white blade going towards the left nostril is harvester ❤X
Every body should have respect who ever they are. Our guards horses & police should have respect they are doing there job. protecting everybody.
I believe tourist do not have the slightest idea that they are at a military facility and that the guards are soldiers fulfilling their duties. Nowadays everything is a show, might be like a Marvel exhibition for some people and that the guards are actors and the horses can be messed with. It makes me angry to know that horses are to be punished due to idiots that are warned but put their hands on the horses head and mouth. Don´t like that at all. Greetings from Argentina.
I know it takes all kinds... however, it is rude, to say the least. I am referring to the young man staring at the Gatesman. I hope the lady who was bitten recovers and learns to love animals. I won't hold my breath though, given human stupidity she will probably not learn anything except fear! The horses are always lovely; their level of care is top-of-the-line. I guess I've missed the live, ah well, I have Buska to watch and Ab... too yet. Take care, John.
Jonh😂😂😂😂 !!!
I really like that you give a commentary of what is happening. I have learned a lot in a short amount of time. You stand out from the others.
Do you have another vocation, or is CZcams your main job because you spend a big part of your time putting out this quality product I would think.
