  • Here is a bit of an explanation of a variation of Shuzo Fujimoto’s clover tessellation that I call, Little Houses.
    •-•-•
You will need a square of paper creased to 16 division grid with 16 diagonal divisions.
    •-•-•
There are some really nice intersections in this pattern that can be used in endless different ways.
    Happy experimenting.

This is not a beginner’s tutorial; I recommend learning to fold a clover tessellation first if you are new to tessellations.
There are plenty of videos available.
I also have a series of three tutorials on clovers and hydrangeas that may be of use.

Thank you Mr E!! I was the one who asked for help with this, so I really appreciate it 😊
Up until this tutorial I only managed to make this one and the big one by first making both a 3 x 3 and a 6 x 6 clover tile tessellation, then I sunk some tiles and retiled others to create the roofs of the little houses!! They both looked the same as yours, but I knew there must be a better way to get the roof sections folded in place. I couldn't for the life of me seem to work out how you folded out the roof sections at each stage 🤦‍♀️ but now it all makes complete sense.
    Thank you once again!! 👌👌👌

      Thank you very much 😁
They are two of my all time favourite papers.
The larger one is a kind of blotchy pattern.
Google “Gradation Dream origami paper” and it shows up but I have never bought myself.
By luck I have been gifted it three times!
The little tiles are folded from 7.5cm harmony print paper from Grimmhobby. It also comes in 15cm.

I'm not exactly sure why, but I get sucked in. I've spent all day (unintentionally) trying to make the larger tessellation. I made a few of the one you demoed from 15 cm paper and then one from 7.5 cm to practice for making the larger one from 15 cm paper. You said you'd like to see what we do, and I'd like to show you, but I don't know how. I haven't yet succeeded with the larger one and I wanted to show you my more or less failed attempt to see if I was at least on the right tack. Is there any way I could do that?

What grid is used for the original house tessellation? You said for the small one 16x16 grid but not for the bigger one.
