Question for you guys: Before this, I used to make two separate standings list. One ordered teammate/team wise and another ordered by their scores. This time I ditched the former. Is that okay or should I continue doing both?
Edit: Also, I've tried several times to get this to work on both laptop and mobile but it just doesn't. If you're seeing this on mobile, then sorry about that. I can't really do anything.
Edit 2: Credit to @dan45far for suggesting this idea. Let me know if you prefer this version of the list over the current one. This one should in theory work perfectly on all devices.

This seems simpler and clearer than having a separate list. Just my thoughts, but I like your current presentation.
Amazing work man, thank you!
Ah, the return of the 🐐. I think keep the points standings only as it’s much clearer to see and keep track of who’s where.
thanks for the hardwork...but just one drivers n a constructors is enough

Max and Fernando have been incredible this year
their cars have been incredible.
@@ddha0000 yeah just take away everything from the drivers like they have no part in it. Hate negative people like you. Stroll is in an aston and look where he is. And lets understand this aston is no where near red bull and we all know alonso is the one who can get the maximum out of the car. He would be doing a better job in Mercedes or ferrari then their drivers are doing right now

Giving Kevin a 2 for an incredible overtake and defending for then to be kept out on slicks by Haas, while giving George a 7 for going off track on inters and yeeting into Checo and getting a penalty is just...
Yep. I guess it's because George "made a great call", in other words, he just got lucky, again. At least this time he got penalised for his bad driving.
The British bias in unreal, George is the most overrated driver
Also Devries finally beats Tsunodo. Devries 6 Tsunodo 7. Some weird bias going on
…is just… the typical and humongous British bias in this British sport… 🏎️🇬🇧
Two guys who genuinely enjoy each other’s company 🌞
Uh George Russell 7/10 with a bad qualy and going straight on with a rejoin that caused a wreck? Come on now..
Yeah to rank him the same with bottas, the McLarens and Gasly seems criminal honestly 😅
For them was Perez fault, he's the one getting 0. Sainz crashed got a 5, Russel crashed into Perez way got a 7. The difference is Russel got lucky, he didn't break anything in his car and the car went facing the right way, Sainz lost a few places.
@@mariop8101 Which it kinda was partly. Seeing as from Checo’s POV he was going too fast in double waved yellows which mean be prepared to stop.
@@gameofender4463 Look at all the people agreeing with you every time you comment this! (/sarcasm since this is the internet)
Ya, 5 at best for Russel
Danish bias, but giving Kmag a 2 and a 3 for taking a big gamble that didn't pay off seems harsh, especially in a race where he didn't stand to get points unless something happened. He drove a decent race until then and defended against Stroll and Perez really well. He also made an excellent overtake and preserved his tires. Giving Albon, Logan, Zhou, nyck double his rating for their performance is unfair
Agreed
Agreed 100% and no Danish bias. He had a much better race than Hulkenberg and kept it clean. You're right, they had to gamble and you can blame the poor strategy on the team, but none of it was Kevin's fault
He sucked and so did the haas.
Logical bias.
You are correct, the best kind of correct
George deserves a 4/10 this weekend. Qualified behind LH + bottled a podium + messed up joining the track + crash with perez + penalty + ratio'd on the radio
And still managed to finish right behind 7 x world champion.
Dude, if you’d seen the recent post from F1 showing both angles. Even Red Bull fans think it wasn’t George’s fault for the collision with Checo.
As they said Perez was going too fast in double-waved yellows. Their words, not mine.
what happened on the radio?
@@FedeDragon_ saying he was quicker than Lewis and wanted the cars to be inverted before being dropped by 11.8 seconds
@@gameofender4463 double yellow were seconds earlier & perez was slowing down before they hit. Also the fact it happened on the inside line on a blind corner. This was on George
Oscar had an amazing weekend for a rookie, no mistakes when everyone else seemed to be making them in the rain, finished in the points, and had that amazing overtake around the outside on lap one.
Yep Oscar is looking the real deal
7/10 for Norris, while Oscar gets a 8/10 is a bit harsh imo. Of course it was Oscar's first race but the times Lando clocked in at the end were super impressive... At least equal if not more points for Lando
If Charles hadn't impeded who knows where he would have started
If you add the LEC roadblock in quali and the messed up strategy in the equation 1 higher than Oscar is very much deserved imo
Didn’t lando also have an extra pit? I swear he was miles ahead of oscar at some point.
Exactly. They mentioned his pace in the rain and yet it seemed like they just took it for granted. I mean, in the last 9 laps he closed the gap between him and Carlos by more than 20 seconds!!
Dude brought down a 50 second gap on lap 68 to 25 on 78 (the final lap). Incredible pace from him.
I wonder if its time for daddy to put his arm around Lance and say "Son I love you but its time for a change".
? He ran over debri in quali at monaco chill a bit. There are far worst driver on the grid
@@ehrlichgesagt863 The issue is all but one race he has under performed. When you have 1 driver scoring close to 80% of the team points thats a issue. He has only had 3 points finishes and averages 0.447 slower than your team mate thats a issue.

What would be an above average performance then? Lapping the whole field twice?

Yuki's radio is always great.
This past race we got : "are you guys trying to kill me?"
Anyone else wanna see Max try for the triple crown?
Mario Andretti said recently he'll try his best to convince Max for Indy 500, which apparently Max doesn't wanna do. He does want LeMans & Alonso wants him to join. I could see him trying
@@mohammadnashitsiddiqui2168 In fact he said that he would try to persuade Max AFTER he had won 8 titles in F1.
And sure, Max is currently not interested in Indy but as you said... he does want to do LeMans with Fernando. I bet if they would win LeMans and he has 2 of the 3, the lure of that exclusive title held by only one person might be bigger.(So far only Grham Hill did it)
@@mavadelo lmao he will never win 8 titles
@@rodsitamara A: I am just saying what Andretti has been saying and
B: Stay salty dude.
@@mavadeloThe reason Max isn't interested isn't because he's "uninterested", he just doesn't think that the dangers of ovals are worth the risk. Wayyyyy higher likelihood of casualties on ovals, especially in Indy.
I would love you guys to rewatch a famous/crazy race from the past (like the 2016 spanish grand prix) and give driver ratings just like this! I think it would be interesting to see both of your opinions on old races maybe when we next have a 2 week break ;)
*Hamilton started on mediums, pitted for hards, and then inters.
I feel Russell is a bit high. Had no pace compared to Lewis, caused a crash with Checo, was out qualified by Lewis, and overall was much outperformed and sloppy. I think a 5/10 would be more accurate.
A bit weird to give Yuki a 7 eventhough his car broke down. And then giving Nico a 3 for having a bad car.
Better balance needed here !
Yaa, how on earth Lance has more score than Hulk this season, it's very difficult to ignore the car pace no matter what!
@@formula_none1445 I'm not talking about the points on the board but the driver. The haas is set to finish 9th team this year. Alpha tauri 7th or 8th.
@@Unfight1 I'm not talking about the points either, I'm talking the scores given by these two!
Did you not see Nico's divebomb at the start? Also he was just slow even compared to Kmag.
Welcome back from Monaco! Love your content. Can I ask one thing - please watch the highlights of the driver pen interviews before Driver Ratings. You sometimes miss out on little nuggets of info. This weekend the reason Sargent struggled around the hairpin is because he has got a puncture on his new set of hards.
Fingers crossed ye chaps get off to another race weekend soon. Well deserved 🎉
You guys should keep a running tally of each driver’s total “points” based on their score in these videos. And then at the end of each weeks ratings we can see the rankings overall for the year. Would be a nice way to see performance across the year
Yeah they do, it will be a video mid and end of season
Check the comments. A viewer has been doing it.
Aston got Alonso's strategy wrong, pitting for mediums. That's why Verstappen gets 10/10. Riding it out on ultra-worn mediums, awaiting the rain, then keeping it on the track to get intermediates.
Alonso proposed that strategy himself
@@Black_96_Dragon alonso had doubts and left it to the team (even mike krack said that it was their decision, taken with the pit's perspective)
@@Black_96_Dragon no he didn't.
I mean even if he pitted he couldnt have catched up because there was a lot of traffic between then. They both just lapped 5-7 cars a couple laps ago and those car where so slow.
@@Black_96_Dragon no the team decided it.
As a ferrari fan giving leclerc a 7 is criminal, though he had a good qualy he screwed up his race with the penalty and was slower than carlos the whole race. The only reason that he finished higher than carlos is because of a strategy issue (and him spinning). Should be 5 at best

Tommy had so many bracelets on, that’s how you know he had a good time. Bravo!
Always a good day when we get P1 content. Keep it up guys.
How does zhou have a 6/10, when he legit got destroyed by bottas in quali ( 5 thenths ) and then finished a minute behind him in the race😂😂😂
ah. one of those know-it-all kids who only read the stats and ignore the race. in case you are legit new to the sport, here's rundown of that monaco is like. 20 cars on a super short 3km track - everyone impedes everyone in quali, no one gets enough distance from slow cars doing cooldown lap. so luck is an even bigger factor in monaco for quali. also, track evolution, like this video mentioned and you ignored. as for race, if you actually watched it, you'll find that on lap 10 (out of 80 laps), there's already a 20 second gap between p1 and p10. 20 second difference in 1/8 of the race distance between point scorers. again, short narrow track forces everyone to impede everyone else instead of overtaking. that's how monaco is. next time try watching the actual race.
@@Ballacha He has a point. You need to chill out before you respond, immediately devolving to insults was unnecessary. It wasn't a good weekend from Zhou.
chink commie bias probably

Who shit in your Corn Flakes this morning to put you in such a combative mood?
@@Ballacha ok, ok, you can stop sucking it now, also what the fuck are these arguments? yeah he did finish 5 thenths, and youre saying its becouse of luck or what? thats so stupid bruh, theres no excuse, he didnt have a car problem, no red flags, nothing, in the race he was a bit closer to bottas, but still way behind
They were mentioning somewhere and I don't remember where, but Toto said (I'm pretty sure) a rookie needs at LEAST 3 years to get to grip with the car, so I feel Logie Bear finishing low is okay for the time being. Nyck De Bries on the other hand, while he also is a rookie, he has the issue of age. He is definitely improving, but can he improve quick enough to stay in the car...time will tell
I think you need to have a team ranking too, ranking the pit wall because there are some daft strategy calls that are affecting the drivers performance
The mic tap at the end 😂😂😂
I needed this.
Weird to see/hear Guanyu Zhou be called Zhou Guanyu again.
Anyway, I think a rookie in Monaco scoring pts deserves a 9 especially in these mixed conditions, all while challenging his well established teammate, Lando. Pastry Piastri deserves a solid 9.
I swear they rate him lower because they have oh-this-is-a-high-expectation-f2-f3-etc-champion-kid-prodigy-vibe-driver but honestly, he deserves more than just a 7. The guy had a year out of F1 on the sidelines not driving, dealing with very public contract drama and it’s his first year in Monaco. Compare his first F1 Monaco performance to the other greats on the grid’s first Monaco and honestly, he did exceptionally well.
Hulk overtook 4! Cars in lap 1. got a penalty for a light touch and got screwed by bis Team. A 2 ist is a joke
Light touch? Have you watched the race?
the best outro on this channel ever, first time my neighbours didnt complain about the sound level!
How did Carlos get a 5 out of 10 when K Mag who had a cleaner race got 2 and 3?
Carlos spun once and reared into Ocon once. I don't get what you all are talking about, saying he had a messy race
Don't you think it's weird that we get such an action packed Monaco GP and yet the top three still ended up the same as the start
Not really
The racing didn't have any action. The only action was for 10minutes.
@@MuhammadNiz007 10 minutes more than usual
Max’s racecraft is so out of this world that it sets a unrealistic benchmark; Alonso definitely deserves a 10 in this race. Don’t think he would’ve won with the Inters on his first stop, but he drove so well all weekend.
Alonso almost certainly would have won if he took inters on his first stop. BrrrakeF1 broke the telemetry data.
Will you guys ever do classic/old/crazy race driver ratings like Japan 2005, Austria 2002, Germany 2019 etc?

My take away from this weekend is that the rest of the top teams really need to start innovating their floor designs. The comparison between redbull and the ferrari + mercedes is pretty shocking. It's like Merc and Ferrari forgot that the floor can be developed I really don't understand what's happened here.
We’ll everyone sure got a good view of the floors this weekend while they were up on the cranes…. 😢
Matt, I liked the fangirl scream’s during the third sector 😂
funny too see the wtf1 vid from a day ago has less views than this ion 40 mins, just shows its the people that we sub for not the brand
I was listening to this driver rating podcast on spotify, and it just ends abruptly in the middle of Tommy speaking about Ocon potentially being the only mid-field podium we might get this year. Thought I might let you know. Thanks guys
Edit: I went and found it on Google Podcasts, and they had the whole thing. Twinkle Twinkle... 😂
Wow don’t even mention the great pass Oscar did…
How George came away with a 7/10 is beyond me. Slow in Quali, gambled and got lucky, then threw away a P3, rejoined the track unsafe and hit Checo… 5-6/10 at best.
He didn't get lucky he was on the best strategy. Better question is why Lewis wasn't on the hard tyre too. We see time and time again at Monaco that the best way to make up places is to go long with the overcut and yet every year teams keep trying the undercut. Even if Lewis had lost a place off the start the hard would still have been the best tyre because he'd have cut out a pitstop
For starters, i really enjoy your videos and watch all of them since the start of this year, great content and chemistry between the 2 of you. The one thing i would want to say is, why do you give drivers with a poor car a 2 or 3 out of ten. The car can’t go quicker than that so the lowest i find fair is a 6/10. Example is Hulkenberg and Stroll. Stroll had an absolute horrific race and only scores 1 point less then the Hulk who did a good job given the car he has. I would like too see a better contrast. Still loving the videos guys 👌🏻

I don't like him, but he already is. Both he and Alonso are popular villians who are legendary for their ability. One is just going to win a lot more titles than the other.
@C Bailey Why is Max a villain?. He isn't pretentious like Hamilton. He is very shy off track and doesn't get caught stepping out on his partner (Norris and Checo ahem).

The Kmag DRIVER rating seems a bit harsh.
Until the spin, which was on the hard tire in wet conditions, a bet by the team to keep him out, he had run a pretty excellent race with a daring overtake.
7 out of 10 to george is criminal , was not on pace with lewis all weekend . couldnt outqualify lewis with all of lewis sheningans during qualifying . bottled a podium and called for team orders after making a mistake . finished 17 secs behind after claiming he was faster..

I honestly expected a 1/10 because he didn't finish in the same position as he started, surely that's worth one point?
OMG, Didn't know you were giving out Zero's.
Russell getting a 7 out of 10 after such a massive fuckup is insane.

Not a fan of Max, but I was blown away so hard by the Q3 final lap that I have to give it a 10 for respect on his pure mad skills
the ending 😂😂
Monaco was only the 2nd race this season that Piastri never had any problems ie Miami break by wire or Baku food poisoning
Kmag honestly had a good race, until it started to rain. He made some nice overtakes. And was up around 10-13th place but, my god why did Hass not just put inters on his car.
Agreed - I enjoyed his efforts in Miami also. He’s trying hard with what he has to work with.
@@srest-hn6zu K Mag deserves a better team & car at this point
Love the silliness at the end. :)
Regarding Pérez, I think it's not just because of his crashing in quality and lacklustre result that I'd give him a very low mark, but more than that, that he was giving interviews in Jeddah about how he was there to win the championship. Well, if you want a shot at that, these are things that you shouldn't do. In all honesty I don't think he has the consistency to be able to challenge Max.
But I don't want to praise Max too much. I mean, he deserves it, but anything can still happen. Or perhaps I'm just nervous that something will because I'm Dutch. ;)
You deserve all of these achievements! And more! Great job guys!
Carlos was clear of Charles and I think you guys forgot that Ferrari F up Carlos by boxing him earlier than medium runners on hards. The fact that Charles was 16s behind George and Carlos was just 2.2s behind.

I'd rate Zhou higher. Pulling off the most overtakes in Monaco for this race is really commendable
Yep, Sergio Perez took the role of Keystone Kops from Ferrari this weekend.
Sargeant must be the only driver to be passed in Monaco by three cars in a single lap that wasn’t the start. Like seriously when it started to rain later it felt like he was way out of his depth.
his tyres were already gone by the point, but yeah... even on Inters Sargeant just couldn't keep up

It's not the first midfield podium. We had a midfield car second in Australia 😅
Stroll and Perez knew how fast their car was, but lacked the patience to wait for an opening to pass the 'back markers'.
On the other hand, at some point, you have to force an overtake otherwise you'll never advance in the fields to the front...
I really love you guys but you have to something about the ads during the podcast... It can't be that it takes me 3 minutes after starting your podcast that I finally get to hear it .. (on Spotify not yt)
IMO, Carlos was rougher than a 5 - 3 or 4 maybe. Was lunging at Ocon, way overaggressive, skated off the track in the wet, and nipped by Charles in qualifying. Couldn't get the overtake done anywhere and incurred damage to his car - if he would have given Ocon a puncture, it would have clearly warranted an even lower ranking
It would be great if you also gave the teams a grade. I don't think it would make the video too long, but would be fun to poke the teams for bad stategy calls or pit stops and the like.
Bruh, Im starting to notice qa pattern with these GR ratings haha. Rating him so high all the time even tho he was mid af

Hulkenberg in that awful Haas actually finished ahead of Perez on track. Nico only classified behind due to a penalty (he didn’t really deserve)
He absolutely deserved it! Did you not see his divebomb at the start? Him finishing ahead of Perez on track means what exactly?
@@iSkyline1 they both made the corner with no damage, how is that a penalty? It was actually a brilliant pass given the fact it’s Monaco. Remember Max and Charles fighting for the win in Austria a few years back and the contact they made which had no penalty?

Fun fact: If they’d drop the championship points for 9th and 10th place for all races this season so far, it would not change anything in the driver’s championship.
Carlos Sainz: Let's push Esteban through his tires
Ferrari: Yes Good Choice... *_we didn't mean that in that way_*
Stroll rating was generous, should have classified him as per his result.
10 out of 10 for Stroll senior IMO
I would give Nando a 10/10 had they put on the intermediate tire. While I don't think they could get a win even with the right strategy, as it stands, there is just this part of the race that they didn't maximize.
18:02 does that mean we get P1 with Matt & Katie?
I think Sainz deserved a better raiting than Leclerc this weekend. The move against ocon was stupid. But he got really screwed by ferrari this race. Started on the hards, but still pitted at almost the same time as Ocon, who started on mediums... And on top of that he was the victim of a bad double stack pitstop when it was time for the inters. This could have been easily a podium.
Giving Lando the same score as Bottas and Russell is crazy. What more could he do? He was blocked by Charles in quali too and was the fastest by far at the end of the race
Total BS..That's what it is, Lando should get more score just for his wet stint. Also Oscar wasnt on pace with Lando during inter runs at all.
He could have not bin it in Q2 which put him in the position of having to rush out in Q3, rather than just having a normal Q3. He would have started 5-7p IMO if not for his mistake in Q2.
@@philipthomas8277 the mistake didn't matter at the end he was able to do a second run and improve his time (probably P8)
@@pierreyammine1599 I'll let Lando correct you in his post qualifying interview czcams.com/video/choXp4ZL9kk/video.html
Alonso on his outlap on the mediums went straight after the tunnel (unintentionally) that's how he gained a lot of time on the outlap. If the rain rain had eased at that moment and he undercut Verstappen what would be the consequences?
I think its a bit harsh on Lando saying Piastri is that close because without Norris’ extra pit stop he wouldve been 30+ secs further ahead
Dry race pace was pretty much even though. It's his first ever wet race and at place like manaco. Of course he'll be off the pace abit of his established teammate in circumstances like that.
What could've been if Fernando didn't pit for Mediums and went straight to Inters
I personally feel Lando deserves better. Maybe an 8/10.
He was impeded by Leclerc in qualifying, but who knows how fast his lap would've been (most likely between P9 or P7). He was the second fastest guy on inters, behind only Max. Most notably though, McLaren gave him a similar strategy to Alonso, and he was put onto hard tyres for 2 laps before pitting again for inters. Without that he could very easily have finished between P7 to P5. The only thing holding him back is that he did crash in qualifying by himself.
If he didn't hit touch the wall he probably wouldn't be in that situation of getting impeded in quali.
@@henrywilliams8313 The track was improving, so it's safe to say he would've improved his lap even if he didn't make contact with the barrier. Besides, the key thing to note is that he was put onto the same strategy as Alonso, and everyone missed it. His "poor performance" in the race is mainly because of Mclaren's mistake, otherwise he could've finished up in P6 or P5.
Personally disagree on KMag. Made progress, had the pass of the season and looked good before getting roughed up by both Stroll and Perez and getting left to drive around a water slide on 55 lap old hands, and was one corner away from getting away with it. Personal view
Remember Lando an extra pit stop. They could of put him on inters at first stop. Instead one lap on hards, then bring him back for inters.
Of course Alonso could could of won the race if he pitted for inters......not.
A one stop for Lando ,like Oscar had, would of put Lando ahead of Oscar by another 25 to 30 seconds.
Oscar is good, happy to have him on team, let's keep it in perspective.
Max gets a 10/10 for if nothing else the fact that he made a set of Medium tires last almost 60 laps!
man how you say sixth with sainz is funny as hell.
Gonna say that’s harsh for Lance. He picked up damage in q2 off Lando’s crash at tabac that ruined his last lap (first two sectors were purple!), and yeah he made mistakes but he was carrying damage from the first one. Yeah his race wasn’t great but his practice performances and his quali until he had damage deserved higher.
All the practice I saw, some timed laps he was 1 second plus off Alonso… stroll was shocking this weekend.
@@Hammertime4404 in Q1, he was actually faster than Alonso, so something went wrong in Q2, cause you can't just go from being one and a half tenth faster than your teammate, to being Half a second off
