I don't know it was possible to create a "holy grail" knife that accepts disposable razors but you've done it.
This is great. I'm a huge believer in the idea of having a disposable bla utility knife for tasks where you don't want to risk ruining your expensive knife. This knife is essentially the best of both worlds. I'd love to see a value-engineered version for us mortals.
You don't want to ruin your expensive knife so you bring out your 475 utility knife. Makes a lot of sense.
@@SwiftGQI prefer to call it a $475 holder for 20 cent utility blades.
You don’t need to wait , there’s one made of carbon fibre from olight “otacle u1”
Awesome work and engineering. Love it. I've started carrying a Milwaukee button lock crapper razor instead of any folder due to lazy sharpening habits. This is way up my alley but probably not in the neighborhood of my wallet unfortunately.
This knife looks awesome. I like that I flips open and closed. And that’s a cool latch. I know a lot of work went into it but that price tag 🥴
Cool design, if I ever find myself with an extra $500 laying around I would definitely pick on up.
This is literally what I’ve been wanting for the longest time!
I love the fact this one utilizes almost all of the razor blades edge. Other brands it's only around maybe half or less. I would love to see an affordable model in addition to this one.
Yeah that knife is bad ass but at $500... yikes.
500 bux is not at all worth it.
@@jonnythedemon if you think $500 isn’t worth it you haven’t handled a knife made by the Hawks before 😂
If I had the money I would own everything yall have designed...especially this!! Love it!!!!!!!!!
Wow this is incredible. I would absolutely buy one of these. Also super interested in a regular blade with that lock system. You've really got something different here. Great work.
Thanks man, I appreciate it. I'll probably do some with a regular blade someday. . .
I'd buy both as well.
I absolutely love the locking mechanism! Looks like a super satisfying knife to fidget with. Only thing now is to make a left hand version and you’d have one of the absolute best disposable blade knives on the market
the price is absolutely gutting, but the design radiates your thoughtfulness. Wish i could!
I've been trying so hard to find an edc utility blade design that I like. Finally, I found it.
This might be exactly what I've been looking for the whole time in my search for the perfect EDC razor knife. I'm subscribing!
I have never liked the replaceable blade knives that any one has ever put out!!
But this... this has me! I love everything about it. The design the aesthetics the functionality the materials. Its one the wish list for sure. Great work.
That is really cool! I want one. Nice job! 👍😎
A great knife. Really beautiful. Truly classier than hell.
Beautiful! And fixes so many problems I have had with others!
Wow.. to say I’m impressed would be an understatement. Well done!
Came back for a refresher after receiving my Shortcut! It's wonderful!
dude you design some of the coolest knives I've ever seen. I so wish I could own one of your designs.
That is the most beautiful edc knife I've ever seen. Great design 👌 👏 brother.
One of my faves knives is a Stanley 199 carpet knife. I also like serrated. I NEEEED THIS! Fahk mi 475 dollhairs to open 😱🥵😫🤐 oh well, still possibly the best utility knife ever or ever will be made. Worth the price. You have all my admiration and appreciation and respect.
Thank you :)
I need one of these in my life.
looks pretty good for a first draft ! i'll give it 2 further iterations (generations) down the road before i even consider testing a unit . so far imho nothing beats the *Tirant Razor V3* , it has reached full maturity status , am loving it !!
Definitely the coolest razor knife I've ever seen.
Damn, I want one. Told myself I was done buying expensive knives and yet here I am, willing and ready to buy one. Love every bit of this knife. From the beautiful titanium build, the unique and strong lockup mechanism, thoughtfully designed pocket clip. Really hope I can get in on the next drop
Oh man, this is the knife that I've been looking for! I can't wait to pick it up during the next drop.
That is slick! Love it
My god, such a beautiful knife that I don't have to deal with sharpening 😍 My wallet is crying already
Just amazing.
DUUUUDE!! Very nice! You've got skills brother, great work!

I like knives, but I'm not a serious collector or anything, but MAN I'm about to start. This is one of the coolest things I've seen.
i love this design!
Super cool knife! You just can’t go wrong with the hawk knife design! Love my deadlock model C! And just put my new order in for Shortcut razor blade knife! You better be quick! It’s going to sold out!
Just landed one from your very first production drop in the evening on Oct 17th! Woo-Hooo!!! Will go great with my Gearhead and my 2 Mod C Deadlocks. Looking forward to getting when they ship!

I want one! It would be an everyday carry for me also!
Next level wizardry here ..outstanding in all regards..🔥
Love the looks and the action. The clip design is great too. Works perfectly on the Deadlock. If only it had a reversible pocket clip.
Looks amazing! Just signed up for the newsletter
That thing is beautiful.
Awesome, great job sir!
Dude this thing is SICK!!!
Love this knife man…cant wait to get one
wow I'm impressed that's super nice!
I didn’t know I wanted to edc a box blade until I watched this video
One of the coolest knives I've seen in a while! Fell onto the floor holding my nuts when I saw the price though.
So dang true...
It’s for those hard-working multimillionaires that need a utility knife on a daily basis.
I bet you 90% of these that get sold end up in safes
When I get mine I’m going to use daily!!
@@montanaplease seriously tho. I'd definitely buy this thing if it were about 2-3 hundred bucks cheaper.
@@Tyufoe96Really wish they’d do what Cold Steel does for us peasants - make a Hawk Shortcut Scout that’s 5X cheaper than the premium model. Maybe Hawk could make it out of aluminum for like 1/3 the price?? 🤔
This is freaking awesome 👍
Very nice!
waou i want one ...or two, thanx for sharing this awesome wrk project..god blesss and love from denmark(philly orig.)
Holy shit dude. Don't mind if i do, but I think I'm going to make a traditional knife with this blade setup. Thanks for the inspiration!
That locking mechanism is fascinating
That's cool as hell!
Love it, I can't wait to start seeing some dealer exclusives
I need this!
Interesting little unit, might grab me one. Great video man
Beautiful but not $475 beautiful!!
I just need this cause I can never keep up with my chip clip , I know I won’t lose this and my chips can stay fresh longer ! Awesome clip design!
Perfection
Nice!
Holy shit I didn’t know I needed this!
Ooooh that is sweet!
I'm new to the channel but not knives. You definitely exceeded the expectations i had when clicking on this.
I also subscribed , great workmanship if i may say.
Thank you I appreciate it. It's always nice to hear that from people that are new to my brand.
In! ❤ Great work, Gavin!
This would lend itself to 3D printing really well. I feel like it could easily be recreated to print this out. I love it! Great knife!
The first prototypes were printed. The lock isn't that great in plastic, but could probably be redesigned to work better in plastic.
@@blademaker25 you should see if you can get these metal 3D printed as a subline, so for the people who can't afford the premium price for those premium materials/work, might go for a more economical version. Just a thought. I love your work!, Very impressive!
Have subscribed, great knife.
Hope you consider a more affordable build options for this knife with future development. A true dream razor knife. Hope to see more MUDD knives in the future.
Can't wait, Gavin
Sold me on two. Hope to see them available soon.
You never disappoint! Outstanding design. To bad you didn't add the wrench to the body. But still it's amazing.
I want one, it looks cool with the serrated blade.
Love everything about it! Absolutely would buy! Genius sir
Looks like a very well built knife, tell your lathe buddy HI (Mark and Mason ) tell them Zane said Hi
awesome
I like it. I’d definitely drop it in the old toolbox
@Gavin Hawk The 'Shortcut' is indeed a gorgeous quite unique design, but when comparing it to other recent 'titanium bodied' pocket utility knives, paying just shy $500 is excessive (in my opinion) for it's small physical size and it's all but 'single use' primary function, as a glorified box-cutter. Stanley blades are notorious for only being good for their intended purpose, like cutting paper and cardboard, scribing and scraping, as they're way too brittle to physically abuse any other way, unlike more traditional solid bladed utility knives. I found I was spending more time and money swapping out chipped Stanley blades, whenever their points kept snapping off. The fact that there is such a wide range of Stanley blade shapes available, makes this and other such EDC's utility knives still a very useful tool to own. The 'Shortcut' is only a light duty knife in any real world usage scenarios. With all that being said, The Deadlock is a stunningly beautiful knife too, but again I'd be reluctant to purchase one at an astonishing $1100 and not single encrusted diamond in sight. 🤣
Keep up the great videos and knife builds. 👍🏻
I agree, I am not cheap when it comes to buying tools, they enable me to make a living and I buy the best quality I can, that being said, there is no way I would pay that price tag for a box cutter, it looks like a nice box cutter but not $475 nice. I am not saying there is not a market for it, there are plenty of people that have more money than I do that will not mind the price, you can see that in the comments, its just way to expensive for me.
Hey, just a perspective to consider, it’s an ultra custom knife from literally the BEST mechanical knife designer on the PLANET. You don’t tell Ferrari their cars are too expensive for their “single purpose”, you pay more for the absolute best design from the best maker. He can only make a few hundred of these things a year he can’t sell them for $19.99 at Home Depot next to the Stanley. Or even $200. He’s got a whole manufacturing facility and a dozen employees to support and 300 knives at $200 would only be $60k. Just perspective to consider man. His prices are so reasonable for the quality of what he produces and the huge operation it takes to make a thousand or two thousand of the best knives on the planet per year
@@steveh8586 You're right, in that respect, so that's why I'd buy a used Ferrari, the markup on new stuff is absolutely crazy.
@@Zodliness Like a used Picasso painting, yeah. New $10, now only $150,000. When supply is close to zero and everyone wants one, and it’s the best on the planet, usually cost goes down. Like a Used Hawk ET knife is $600, new it was $80. Oh wait….. looks like you better review your understanding of supply and demand my friend. He’s worth every penny and the price is more than fair.
No way, I'd pay $475 for a razor knife, no matter the quality or materials.
Awesome design!!
Next version needs a small popoff tool to loosen the blade... maybe the beltclip can somehow be detachable with a bitdriver on it....☺️
Very nice and I would enjoy having one in my pocket at all times. Shame I live in the UK where I am not allowed any kind of lock knife , even in a draw at home in theory . But I love your work .
I would buy one immediately
wow that looks really nice I would love to see this with a regular knife blade instead of the razor that is a really cool lock & handle design.
I designed the razor concept first, then the lock. Now that I've refined this lock I might come out with a regular knife using this mechanism. I have a lot of designs that I want to make, but limited time.
@@blademaker25 yes you & your dad are wizards when it comes to locks & design 👍
Thank you
