Tangent! Engraved by Tom Ferry
zhlédnutí 2,6KPřed 10 lety
This is number 1 of 10 prototypes made for the USN show in Las Vegas. It was engraved by Tom Ferry, who is rumored to be a wizard. This knife is proof of that claim! I will be making more of this design with all sorts of options on handle materials and blade materials. Just send me an email at Blademaker25@msn.com Gavin
Blade Show 2013

This is a sneak peak at our new knife the "Links". It's a non-locking toggle mechanism. And when you grip the handle the knife is secured, and for extra security there is a safety that can be engaged. Our table at the Blade show is 11D

This video shows the various Cyclops knives that I'm taking to the Blade Show in Atlanta Ga., as well as a sneak peak at our new prototypes.
What i'm taking to Blade 2011
zhlédnutí 9KPřed 13 lety
Here are a few knives i'm taking with me to Blade 2011. The first design is a custom cyclops, with ti frames and a damascus blade. The next design is an old one brought back to life, called the Toad. And the last one is a totally new design called the 'Beetle'. It's a non locking knife, but is secured when the user grips the handle. Enjoy :)
So what your saying is that I can plant one, and grow many? I'm in.
500us 1000 can nice but wow
I don’t think so. Thx.
600 bucks?!?😮/ take my money😢
My life will never be complete untill i own one of these exquisite pieces of craftsmanship.
Holy Grail or The Ark, $475??? U got to be outa your mind..
$475 price❓🥹
Beautiful
Wow, impressive!
Looks robust..
Q? Have you ever done any "stress" tests on your designs? In other words, if you were to stab say a piece of plywood, for instance, how much force would it require to force the blade back into the handle? Similarly, how much sideways stress can the blade take before the handle breaking etc? This may sound extreme, but when you spend big cash for a well engineered (obviously) knife, it would be good to know what you are getting and the capabilities of the tool you are buying. No disrespect.
Pretty spiffy. Complicated design for sure.
Gavin how is your dad it’s been awhile since I’ve been in Boise now I’m in Wendell is he doing well? Please let me know I’m the gal that sings and met you & your dad at a gas station in nampa Sassy lee
Hi Sassy, its good to hear from you. My dad passed away last year at the age of 82.
@@blademaker25 how I’m so sorry I have been thinking of him alot he’s a great guy RIP I’ve been trying to find you guys glad I did are you doing well ?
@@SassyLeeHillius Yes, things are going really well. The knife business has been really good.
I’m alone yelling to myself about how genius that mechanism is.
beautiful piece, but VERY bothersome the razor is not centered. for the price and attention to detail you guys are known for, hard to believe what I'm seeing now that I've got my hands on one.
Yeah, I could have made the knife much thicker, and the blade would have been centered. Typically a center blade 'test' is to make sure that the knife was made correctly, as in the blade was ground correctly, the blade isn't bent, that the hole in the blade is perpendicular, and that the handle holes are drilled correctly. Its a way to easily spot poor craftsmanship. In this case, none of those things apply. Again, the knife would have had to be much thicker to get the blade centered, when it doesn't need to be. Which would have thrown off the aesthetics of the design. So it wasn't for a lack of attention to detail. The blade is intentionally off center to work within the concept of this style of knife.
@@blademaker25 guess I thought everything would have been the same- other than the pocket where the blade sits be sightly deeper and the plate securing it proportionally thicker. end of day, still a gorgeous piece and I've probably flipped it 1000 times since just getting it yesterday.
@@BeastMan617 I need as much thread engagement as possible for the 'blade clamp screw". Otherwise it could be centered, so I need the thickness on that side :)
@@blademaker25 Competitors knives are both thinner and centered. If your primary concern was thickness I don't think you would have chosen such a bulky belt clip.
@fatherjason sure, but they also use quick change blade systems that leave the blade loose. And having a grip clip is a must have for me...putting a thinner clip doesn't make the handle thinner. I guess the bottom line is I like it, the way I designed it.
Why no plunge grind?
Damnit I missed out again. I guess I’m not getting the newsletters. Any plans for future deadlock drops?

Question about the shortcuts: if I got in on the $50 deposit pre-order am I good to go and you will just charge the remainder when my spot come up or will there be a separate invoice process? I'm hopeful for the former because my inbox is a disaster and I live in fear of missing invoice notification.
We will be sending out another invoice when the balance is due. The invoice will be from paypal, and we will send a few. If you want, send us an email with your phone number, so if we don't hear back from you, we can give you a call.
My short cut is on the way 😁😁
Click, sold out
Score 🙌 Got one within the first minute of the newsletter drop.
OOS within 4 minutes
30 seconds.
I called my bank just to let them know ahead of time not to freak out when they see this purchase haha. I want the magnacut bad. - was instantly sold out.. unfortunate
You win some, you lose some. I have won in the past but last night not fast enough! I know how you feel 🙂
@@88HD_ I have been trying forever. It’s hard to keep enough money in my account to make the purchase haha. I’m only after a plain titanium one with carbon fiber I never seem to be quick enough. Hopefully eventually I’ll get it.
@@Mr..HeisenbergI got in on the first drop of Ti with standard carbon fiber inlays late 2022, delivered early 2023. I was able to secure one of these white storms. I may be selling the standard carbon fiber inlay one.
The white storm Model C Ti is 🔥
Damn, I want one. Told myself I was done buying expensive knives and yet here I am, willing and ready to buy one. Love every bit of this knife. From the beautiful titanium build, the unique and strong lockup mechanism, thoughtfully designed pocket clip. Really hope I can get in on the next drop
@12:00 "USE NO OIL" Counterintuitive as that seems, Thanks for that very important info & reasoning. PEACE
Ill take one, which kidney do you want 😂
It is a two kidney knife.
@@XPLSV357 damn
is this a serious offer? I have one and could use a kidney
im down, do i just email a pic of my credit card?
That looks awesome....my birthday is on the 27th.....
Have to say I use my Shortcut every day and love it!
Yeah me too....I still play with it sometimes if there's nothing to cut lol I can almost work it left handed now.
I don't think my life would change much if I were wealthy, but this would be in my pocket.
I love watching these types of videos and this one is better than any other videos I have ever watched. Beautiful design and I’m a new fan.
Was all about it till I seen you almost cut your hand. Also the price
Would be better to use the razor blade to open and close the screw Having to use a separate tool is annoying
You'd make a good firearms engineer
This is amazing. I really want to get my hands on the Model C. Does the Model C have bearing rollers under the button like the Model A? That's a feature I didn't catch until watching this video. Sounds so smooth!
Wow this is An incredible piece I would absolutely love to purchase one but I doubt I’d be able to do so but is that a Lanyard hole in the pocket clip?
The hole in the clip is there to give access to the handle screw.
@@blademaker25 ohh cool thank you for the reply
Brilliant engineering dude. It works and looks like magic.
$475 not happening, but it looks cool.
I really hope I'm blessed enough to get one of these someday. They are amazing. God bless.
this is beautiful but quick question before i get ahead of myself , have you ever shipped one to the uk ?
Bury and tumble it
Keep being awesome! I fully enjoyed our interaction at BladeShow 2023
The handle needs a better design
If someone's payment doesn't go thru let me know. i still really want it. sold out instantly or shit. may as well just drop the dp on a deadlock
It's still live. Keep trying. Site is getting a lot of traffic.
@@blademaker25 , Yo, So back in March, you reached out with a spot for me on one. I was just wondering if those are expected before August. Although frankly Id rather just start sending you $100 a week and eventually getting a DL, I'm preparing to start dropping real youtube content now that I've hit 33k subs. Regardless, im happy waiting, just wanted to check in
A cheaper aluminum or something version would be swell.
What an incredible mind to make such a beautiful knife.
$475! Good lord that's a lot of money! Hard pass at that price.
make a high polish for the anodizers
Wish this was more affordable - I do love my Tirant v3 though
