  • The best gold for resin? What I wish I knew when I was starting out. This video is about the different gold pigments you can use and the effects they have in resin. What kind of look are you going for? Mica powder, acrylic ink, acrylic paint, resin pigment paste, metallic powders, gilding flakes, and alcohol ink. Each has their own distinctive effects. This is a long video, I have created chapters below and pinned a comment so you can skip through it.

Thank you for the lessons. There were many things I had not thought of so let me share with you how to make your own pigment pastes. Any color mica powder to the resin part of the mix only stir until you have the consistency of paste. I use the small plasic jars to mix up my colors. I still have some thst I mixed over two years ago. A small mix goes a long way so don't do big batches. I suggest that the resin mix you use would be the same resin you use for the paste. Also the thicker you mix your gold colors to a resin mixture the better it is after heat the resin, it will give you a gold nugget look thoughout the streaks. Thanks for your lessons. You teach a great class!

@@ResinAsYouWish it works I promise. The gold doesn't go all nilly willy. Any color. I love sharing what I know works, but it does upset the people who sell pigment pastes. I like mixing colors like gold and an emerald green powder together, just awesome when heated after pouring. Have fun and oh yeah I ordered the two way tape, can't wait to do as you showed!

This is for everyone…Please don’t have you’re animals around while you resin, their lungs are much smaller & their sense of smell much more intense & unless you have a respirator for them, you can really do them ALOT of harm..But otherwise thank you for the informative video.
