In Mushoku Tensei Jobless Reincarnation season 2 we saw Rudeus learn that Nanahoshi (Silent Seven Star) is also an isekai character from Japan. While Rudeus is enjoying his second chance at life despite the bad parts, Nanahoshi wants only to go home. In this video I look at their different perspectives on their isekai situation and how this is an interesting contrast that Rifujin na Maganote explores in the series, which you don't see in other isekai light novel and anime series.
There are no spoilers beyond Mushoku Tensei season 2 episode 9 in this video, but if you want answers about Nanahoshi's situation or spoilers about her future, please check out the following videos:

Nanahoshi really has it bad. Being transported in another world with no magic, risk of being sick, and having no means of defending herself naturally. It's actually a miracle that she was somehow able to survive prior to meeting with Orsted.
You are entirely right, on all accounts. The thing is though, Orsted arrived shortly after her. IIRC he was in the area when it MTI happened. Also a key point you made about the magic and her risk of getting sick, all i can say is thumbs up!
Not to mention she's gotta keep going sleep for a month then wake up for the next 80-100yrs until she can maybe hopefully go back to her world.
Nanahoshi reminds me of that IRS agent that's been tasked with taking my money; dropped into a situation where they don't belong and don't fully understand, to which they have no hope of adapting, and which they'd rather not be in. A big difference, though, is that Nanahoshi can walk into a room without setting off multiple traps.
Yeah she only triggered a reverse trap
@@lucasvanwijngaarden670 I beg your pardon?...
@@cs1045 Fitz.
She's a girl mistaken for a boy, aka reverse trap. And Nanahoshi certainly triggered her when explaining her involvement in the teleportation incident.
@@lucasvanwijngaarden670 ah
If Rudy hadn't changed so much since arriving in the six sided world, Nanahoshi and him would be 100% incompatible as friends. I have to agree that being Isekai'd is worth it for Pursena.
i'm anime-only, but i'd guess that nanahoshi also changed a ton since isekai-ing. if she was still the hottie from hs, she'd probably be insufferable.
Yeah, I noticed that too. It's a nice change of pace to meet an Isekai character who actually wants to go home. I think this is how most people would actually feel. Even those who are lonely and downtrodden still have people in this world they love and would miss.
The aspect of Nanahoshi that interests me is how she is turning into old-world Rudeus. She hates the new world, and she withdraws herself from it as much as possible. She wears a mask so even in public nobody sees her, and she sequesters herself in her tower like Rudeus isolated himself indoors. I have no doubt that if Nanahoshi could have achieved her research without ever talking to anyone, she'd take that option as Rudeus hid himself in light novels and whatnot.
Personally I'd have thought Rudeus would have recognised this pattern and maybe put more effort into making sure to help her avoid this fate, but it might also just be a bit early. Or maybe I'm just wrong, but it looks to me like Nanahoshi is trying to abandon a world she hates and will plunge herself into an esoteric personal hell in the process, and Rudeus may be the only person in the new world that would ever truly understand it.
Are you anime only?
@@OverallghostYes
You're quite wrong on a number of levels. First: She isn't withdrawing herself. There is a difference between being in the best place for your research and being an isolationist. She literally toured the world to find a solution. There is none, so she is making one. She is literally bending the world to her desire to achieve what was never done before, nor will ever be done after her.
Second, her research is like... completing a puzzle by assembling pieces out of bits and odd-shaped baubles, scattered throughout the entire world, and of which not one singular person would take a second look at. No one in their right mind would try this.
Third, while it may seem like a "personal hell" to you, you're forgetting that she isn't of this world, in more ways than you can imagine. For instance, she is magically mute, and if you'd want a taste of that, imagine having no taste in this world, from birth. Would it not be a personal hell to not understand why others swoon over chocolate? Or be buzzed by the bitter taste of black coffee? Or be enamoured by the taste of your S.O. lips?
So, she isn't accepted by this world, and it will make a significant point later on. The spiral that you're referring to isn't occurring... yet... But, Rudy will see it, don't worry.
Lastly... No, Rudy would not be the best person for Nanahoshi. There is a character that has gone through what she has, and much more. One that suffered more than the show will ever touch upon.
That person would be Laplace.
I can understand both, and this is yet another reason I like Mushoku Tensei.
Log Horizon has several examples of different perspectives on how people treat the "other world", and also how the natives of said world view the "outsiders".
But it isn’t as complex and deep as in MT. Log Horizon, everyone has the same setting of Isekai in which whatever Perspective they have, good or bad is ultimately judged and be faulted at them in a personal manner. In MT on the other hand, everyone’s reason for hating or loving Isekai isn’t based on their own personal perspectives but was forced to them by circumstances. Which makes you think of “what ifs”, what if Nanahoshi had magic, would she still hate the world? What if rudy didn’t have his family. Things like that.
@@banir3736 the reason Nanahoshi hates this world, isn't *just* because she lacks mana, so I'm sure she still would, it would just make her research (and her overall stay) much easier. Even if she didn't hate the world, it would be reasonable for her to try and find a way back, after all, she left her whole life behind. Also, where, in the entirety of the isekai anime, are the characters not in a forced circumstance? As much as they enjoy being in the world they find themselves into, out of all the isekai I've watched, there was *maybe* one case where the person actually chose to go, even considering cases (like Log Horizon) where there is already a familiarity with that world.
I’d have a reason to go home, but I’d make sure to try and have a fun hell of a time while figuring out how to get back. With the limitations that Nanahoshi has in that world however, it’d be tough. Having access to special abilities and combining that with knowledge of our modernities would go a long way to make things fun, and if unable to return, then comfortable. Wait. I’d be Kazuma! 🎉🎉🎉
Yay, more Natalie!
So glad your feeling better, although I’m sick one now 😂😂 thanks for the vid as you all are giving me something to listen to while I can not sleep
In the time where I needed her the most(close to my bedtime), she is finally back.
Think it would depend on my experience there, but I probably would feel isolated there like Nanahoshi, possibly worse off since I'd have to learn a new language, and get by somehow until I figure out how to get back or if it's even possible. Wouldn't want to go back home if I end up arriving back like 50 years into the future, I might as well stay at that point. Idk if I'd feel like the world is fake though like she does, certainly would still suck and I'd probably be miserable, but I'd deal with it somehow.
Also, nice outfit, Natalie. 👍
I can understand both perspectives of Nanahoshi and Rudeus, the parallels they have are interesting. Rudeus was lucky to have been born with a loving well off family.
Also I'm not sure if I missed it but is there a reason why Nanahoishi wears a mask?
There are 2 main reasons. Being Japanese she looks pretty different from other humans in this world, which mostly have western looking faces. Don't know why, that's just how she described it iirc.
But the bigger reason is that she doesn't age. She's afraid people will notice and people will want to experiment on her looking for "eternal youth."
@@DarkSonicSpear that makes sense, thanks.
Mushoku is so goated for bringing up such themes and ideas. It's just so cool. Nice video as usual!
Couldn't agree more!
Glad to have you back. Things are really starting to pick up now that S2 has a few episodes under its belt. Looking forward to when we have the post-debut livestreams going again. Make sure to look after youself and get well.
Cool thing on Nanahoshi's view and objective. Nanahoshi literally have the objective of old school isekai/fantasy anime. I don't remember when going back home stopped being the goal of the main character on Isekai anime but take a look at all the classic fantasy anime, Inuyasha, Zero no tsukaima, heck I'll count even count digimon. Everyone's objective is to go back home.
It's like a modern-ish take on isekai vs. the classic. Kinda cool meta story telling.
Yup. I distinctly remember they ALWAYS tried to go home and did. I wanted the opposite to happen, but now modern isekai have them stay so much that the "old model" seems fresh again, lol
Love when you upload Natalie, I honestly understand both sides cause I would probably react the same way if I was in either shoes.
The 2 things I would miss most if I was transported to another world.
1) The internet (technology basically)
2) Plumbing.....read up on medieval bathrooms and sanitation.
It's so easy to forget how much modern plumbing does for you.
In a real medieval world, yeah, that'd suck, but they probably do stuff with magic in most of these isekai worlds.
i'm waiting for the 2nd season to end so i can binge watch it but i figured i would comment anyway. usually when you have a dichotomy of between two characters that got isekai'd, it's usually in terms of conflict (being petty rivalry or hero vs villain), so hearing about Rudeus and Nanahoshi makes me this about "normal people" being isekai'd. a normal outgoing girl with a normal, happy life is no doubt going to be less receptive to the wonder and adventure of being in a new world, like you said.
Also, glad to know you're feeling better. i had covid once and that shit was horrible
its weird how Rifujin does all the things many people complain about in isekai but he wrote all this way before the claims even started. I mean aside from the stuff that many X users got fussy over, but they would complain even if this was a fairly tame show so I don't think we can count on those views very much.
either way Nanahoshi is a great contrast to Rudeus. including a few certain scenes in the future i cant wait to watch anime onlys reactions, great writing like that is why I love this series.
spoilers up ahead maybe
1 little thing I would like to point out 10:13 in volume 14 she does mention that she hasn't had her period since she's been in this world though I don't know if it was different from the WN to the LN.
Yeah, a few people have corrected that, think I just misremembered it. I'd take that as a win if I was her though.
@NatalieXHunter fair enough, lol. Don't recall any woman saying they love having those.
I've been wondering if Nanahoshi could get pregnant without a period and what that might do to her. No spoilers please.
@sub2ampio well if she's not getting periods then I'd assume her reproductive system is paused in some way, though I don't know if she ever has sex throughout the series so your good on not being spoiled.
It’s TWITTER not X!!
Finally a Natalie video
What a blessed day
This is an important conversation. This was a great start.
This series has so much character growth, not just for Rudy but every character. I love your details when explaining to us non-light novel readers the story behind the story.
As someone who has had financial struggles and had to press the RESET button, keep on fighting Natalie! Don't give up! There is always a light at the end of the tunnel.
She is back !
My family knows I wouldn't likely come back lol
I'm the kind of guy that would sign up for a 1 way trip to Mars for a slim chance to colonize it lol
Thank you for reminding me of Those Who Hunt Elves. That was fun
wait, wait, wait.. new nataliexhunter vid just dropped.
After relisting to old dragons tail ive binged a bunch of your old content while at work with an ear bud in. I hope you're doing well my gamer
Natalie, I'm incredibly happy to see your new video, thank you so much for this, wish you best health and a million dollars
Was really missing your output on the show... welcome back! Hoping to see you again soon, too... :D
glad to hear you feeling better, thank you for the mew
Welcome back! always glad to see your mushoku tensei videos
You're back
I don’t think I can fully close Mushoku Tensei as a whole and move on to whatever continuation Orstered-Sama blesses us with… until I get a special chapter of Rudeus bringing Nanohoshi a fully Japanese dish with the SOY SAUSE he discovered in Biheiriru Kingdom. Last we heard of meals from the two of them, they were missing this key element and I kinda want to see Nanohoshi enjoy a day in the Six Sided World with the meal a meal that brings Japan Closer to her.
Uhhh... Nat? Minor correction, but she [doesn't] get periods anymore, remember? Also, that's a minor emotional spoiler that won't get mentioned 'till season 3 (along with some other oddities about her body).
11:57 A third reason is also to make her surrounding feel more comfortable for her. Especially when it comes to introducing school uniforms (a familiar sight for a high schooler) and adding more culinary recipes.
Anyways, glad to have you back (again!), Natalie. I guess if you were to ever catch the Ronna, then it's when they name it Eris, haha!
As hard as things have been, it's good to see you get back up everytime. I pray for easier times ahead for you.
I guess I misremembered that (it's a couple of years since I read the novels), I thought she did. Still, she can get fat!
Nanahoshi must be pretty extraordinary to have setup herself up the way she has in the series. Maybe her talents were wasted in her original world so that's why she was summoned.
That's not the reason, but I don't want to spoil you!
Spoilers just make me more eager to see for myself. But for the sake of anyone else reading the comments I'll wait.@@NatalieXHunter
I feel that Nanahoshi weird attitude about avoiding changing the world is pointless and cowardly. The chance of her disappearing is ridiculously low when you consider that Rudeus has changed the world so much as to shock even interfering busybodies like Hitogami and Orsted. Given that she's traveled with Orsted, you'd think she would know better.
I think that's just another excuse to distance herself from everyone else, and to justify herself not helping or interacting with them.
It's just her theory that the world would erase her, and it could be travelling with Orsted was what made her believe that in the first place - he would have told her what an anomaly she was. Still, I think she also just doesn't want to get too involved because she doesn't want to become attached to a world she plans to leave.
glad you are back natalie 😊
Sorry to hear you got 'rona, I hope you get better soon!
Yay! Welcome back (and get well soon)
Yay new video!
That echo went crazy in this video
Don't worry, with some luck your Eris might do as the original one and jsut leave you in the middle of the night one day XD
If i was teleported to that world like Nanahoshi it would depend if i had a happy life or not tho, aside from that, i guess i might try to go back, but maybe i would give the new world a chance as well, or do both, i would have plenty of time.
What about you Nat? what would you do?
I'd stay, but I'm the kind of person who has moved to new places a bunch of times anyway and never really thought about going back to where I came from (I haven't been back to my own country for about 12 years, aside from for a funeral, so clearly I'm not someone with a strong sense of home). I'm also a lot older than Nanahoshi so it's a bit different. When I was a teenager I probably would have felt like I was missing out on a future in my own world and of course as a kid you tend to see your friends and family a lot more, so would miss them more.
@@NatalieXHunter wait, i tought you were from Italy or England, are you saying i have been fooled all this time? XD
yeah, living in another world would be interesting, but Nanahoshi's case is complicated since she have a lot of drawnbacks in the MT world tho
Welcome back
I would love to say something enlightening, but you covered everything so thoroughly that there’s little left to say without treading into spoiler topics intentionally avoided.
I miss you sow much Nataly!!❤❤❤
Sobre todo te extrañe en las charlas de Ed y Espi!!, espero escucharte en el proximo capitulo!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤
Yeah, it's too bad that we won't get to finish her story in the main series since she's going to be a main character in the sequel and I wouldn't be surprised if Rudy's daughters are like the main characters in this series for the sequel like Rudy's daughter with Roxy will probably be the main female protagonist and also Christina, probably since she's going to be like the princess. Probably taking over for Ariel after what happened to Olivia and I wonder if in the sequel will get to know what happens to Olivia after the fact cuz I don't know what kind of punishment she got cuz it kind of just ends Nanahoshi will probably be in the heroes party in the future
I think Akihito will be the main character in the sequel, but others like Nanahoshi, Rudy's kids, and obviously Orsted will be important too - probably also long lived characters like Elinalise will be there to give a sense of continuity, too.
May GOD blees you every day you are important to alot of us . thanks
So fantastic and i learn this and more from ya but not details till now
Its nice idea and fare point its nice hearing ya but pls dont push to hard ok X3 get well soon
Yes thank you!!!🎉❤
Haven’t commented in awhile! Life’s been crazy for a lot of us 😅 just wanted to know ya didn’t lose a viewer from near the beginning of your channel!
I’d be happy! Beast people would make it worth it
I'm missing you and the sunday livestreams
Thanks!
Thank you so much!
Hope you feel better soon. I think Spirit Chronicles might have a similar scenario of reincarnated meeting summoned/teleported characters in more depth in season 2 (however, the meeting of similar characters already happens at the end of season 1)--not sure how many of the summoned characters will want to go home, but presumably at least some will.
As to your question, I think there is a good chance that like Nanahoshi most people of Earth who might be teleported would get sick from the air in the new world and without an immunity might not be able to survive there for long. So assuming I was summoned/teleported like Nanahoshi, I think I would also try to go back to Earth as soon as possible for that reason alone (my own safety). That said, if it where possible, I think finding a way to go to and from the other world repeatedly, a la Gate, Saving 80k Gold in Another World or Isekai de Cheat Skill--such that you can have a life in both worlds--is probably the better option for relatively safe worlds like MT.
She have no magic 🪄 & basically she is 11 century area when if don't have power you die 😨 & wars between kingdoms everywhere
Nice :D
Thanks! 😄
I would take being transported with all my knowledge to another world as a baby.
Yeah, I think most people would, the question was would you take being transferred like Nanahoshi was?
@@NatalieXHunter I think I would, can't be worse than real life.
Being stuck in a 17 year old body would be deemed an absolute bless to a girl.
El Hazard is one of the first old Isekai I think of as well as Maze Mega Burst Space.
Hazard was a group of students and a questionable teacher to to a insane situation magical world with sci fi elements. I do recommend it to those that have not seen it. But like a few other old series knowing where to start is confusing. It has to side chapter like movies that are not exactly non cannon or cannon. Since they could be either. As far as I know it was an anime original. The confusing part is it had 2 TV runs that mirror each other but are different uses of the characters. Watch all of it to form your own opinion on best version. Teacher character has a wonderful ability that mocks his personal issue. The more sober he is the stronger he becomes. All total its about 30 episodes I think.
Maze Megaburst space is another I'd always recommend and in its case I suggest the english Dub because the comically bad along side the good is the VA cast. Love its OP as the mumble in the singers voice turns it into a self mock. Mace in your face is what you hear and the line is Maze in your space. But its story is a solid case of unexpected in detail. MC is both male and female with a body that swaps between the 2. Magical Mecha fights Plus its take on Isekai is rather odd and not often repeated. Tho at first it seems much more typical. feel free to ignore the girl that says "Ukyu Hajimashito" at beginning of each show. English or Japanese I found her voice annoying... and she is a main "love" interest type of role. Pretty sure her character is meant to be annoying. Story is about gathering the infinity stones to stop Thanos... close enough they represent an element of magic and are unmatched in their prowess so close enough to Infinity stones. Bad Guys are way over the top in their approach to goal solutions like Thanos so close enough. 26 episodes as all anime should be in a season... I say semijokingly.
Truck-Kun is the tool how the “one” summon ppl from other world 😂
I listened to this in the car and there was definitely something I wanted to comment. But I forgot it while driving unfortunately.
Anyways, I'm glad you're back. I hope you'll make a speedy recovery. And I'm looking forward to more of your content.
Hey Nat take it easy stay safe
Take care sis, get well soon.
Thank you 😊
Cute outfit
You've been missed! Was a bit worried why you went radio silent for a while.
Reminds me of final fantasy tactics for the GBA
I wouldn't pass on the opportunity to get with elves and catgirls
I like Nanahoshi and get why she wants to go home but I've never understood the why doesn't insert protagonist want go home and when you ask a simple question why would well friends and family that's a reason to go home that's a reason to find out how to travel between worlds and what those who have no one to go back why would they go home and this is where someone gave me the worst answer well they don't have modern stuff like netflix twitter and other social media sorry you think any normal person given the choice between live in a world full of magic demon girl i mean folk beast girls folk where you can work as much or little as you want and you can bring your family and friends or netflix shit job well these people honestly think people will be like netflix please nah I'm say the majority of people magic world
Well, not everyone's life is just watching Netflix and having a boring job. Some people like their lives, or at least feel like they're doing something worthwhile. Imagine if you were like, a heart surgeon. You might not love your life, but you'd feel guilty abandoning it because your job is saving lives. Or you might have an ambition you can only fulfil in this world. It's not all 'friends and family', I mean, a lot of people move to other countries and have to make new friends and rarely see their families, but don't really get homesick at all. It's more just, you're giving up one potential future for a different one, and that trade off is going to be different for everyone.
Stop asking for trouble! You already had enough of it!
I’m not that of a superstitious person, but I’ve seen it over and over again that life kicks you while you’re on the ground and it won’t stop until you stand up and fight again…
Basking in your misery, praying, or complaining only seems to make it worse.
I know someone who prayed to god for decades and it only got from bad to worse and she nearly killed innocent people by driving recklessly with her eyes closed. Don’t let it come to that!
That's a bit unhinged... I can't drive and don't believe in god so I'll probably be fine.
How is Nanahoshi better in the old world? Japan is still going thought it's lose Decades, which also happened during the time of the writing of Mushoku Tensei. On top of that she befriended a living god in that world, that was able to give her magic Rings. That work even though she has no magic herself.
Well, a 17 year old probably isn't thinking that much about economics, she probably just wants to go to college and do all the normal stuff she had planned.
@@NatalieXHunter We don't have a lot of information on Nanahoshi, could she have gotten into collage? There more to getting into one then just good grades.
I don't think it's ever stated or even if she's old enough to have been trying yet, but that would be a typical plan for someone like her to have.
Nya
Do you think magic could work in his Earth?
If so then his return to Earth might be a good vacay at best.
Loce you
1:59 😺
Are you planning on continuing/finishing your reading of Jobless Oblige? Or doing any other readings? I really miss listening to your voice reading me stories on my drive to/from work :(
The Jobless Oblige readings kill me in the algo (because nobody wants to watch part 12 of a series they haven't been following so CZcams assumes nobody wants to watch it at all), so I'm not doing those until things pick back up for my channel and I can afford to take a hit like that. I do plan to do some side story readings that will be single videos, but not until I get over the 'rona because my voice can't handle it right now.
@@NatalieXHunter awe fair! hope you get better soon!
Thing is tho Rudy didn’t save her right? He managed to push her friend out of the way but didn’t make it in time right. I’m an anime only and just assumed he didn’t reach.
He did save them. Nanahoshi and her friends didn't die, but only one of them was found...
It's amusing... early on, before "isekai" was a genre of its own, most main characters that got isekai'd would strive to return home. Fushigi Yuugi, El Hazard, Alice in Wonderland, that movie w/ Jackie Chain and Jet Li, etc... And I never liked it, I always thought the better story was being put in an alien world and adapting to it and making it your new home.
But w/ modern isekai, it's completely flipped and Nanahoshi's perspective is the "uncommon" one.
She does not menstruate. That’s one of the reasons she feels so wrong.
Comfy?
Is that a patreon like thing?
Nanahoshi is a bit of a weird case to me. She’s IMHO a clear-cut case of an INTJ type of person (who are really rare in the real world, even more so female examples). These are NOT particularly attached to other people in general. They’re usually highly intelligent, rational to an unusual degree, and suppress their own emotions to a point that it comes to bite them back in the butt. They’re intuitive, highly pragmatic, hyperfocused, and strategic-minded, but also Machiavellian.
It’s not like they can’t feel for other people, but when they meet someone the first thing, they ask themselves is: as a tool how can it be used? Because that’s how they see everything in their life.
They’re not overly invested in anything, but they are not that outgoing (very introverted) and tend to struggle to make new friends (even more so developing trust, and allowing themselves to be vulnerable). So, what they’ll miss the most are the few people they care about in the old world and all the lost potential of control. By the latter I mean all the information they gathered about the old world that have now become pointless. It’s not like they want to control everything in their lives, but they hoard information and access to potentially useful resources and they frigging hate jumping headfirst into the unknown. They’re not necessarily risk averse, but they want to have a good idea of what they can and can’t do and how the world reacts before they do something…
Such people wouldn’t miss most of their acquaintances and they’re not that attached to the superficial things in life, such as status symbols, or self-indulgence. Still, they obviously can enjoy food and music, and miss such… The more I think about it, I believe that what hurt Nanahoshi was her losing her ambition and being thrown into the unknown, which turned out to be a world where she feels less in control than the old world…
Shame INTJs are rare, lol, they're kinda my type! I'm an ENTP though.
@@NatalieXHunter They're definitely overrepresented as villains and quite surprisingly as protagonists in anime...
ENTP is the second most common villain type and I don't know what it is, but INTJ and ENTP tend to have a strong, but weird relationship...
Personally, I usually have respect for INTJs, but I either like them or not with little in between...
Which are your favourite INTJs or enTPs in fiction?
The first that come to my mind are
INTJ: Mizusu Gundo (Tomo-chan is a girl; one of the few examples that feels really fleshed out)
ENTP: Ai Magase (Babylon)
ENTP: Hans Lander (Inglorious B-sterds)
I'm not 100% sure about Ekidona (ReZero) and Kurumi Tokisaki (Date a Live) about whether they qualify as ENTP.
I've seen Echidna listed as ENTP before, and I can see it. Also Rintarou from Steins;Gate. I haven't seen any of the shows you mention though!
@@NatalieXHunter Ai Magase and Hans Lander are about as scary as one can get with words alone, without even uttering a threat. Babylon was a bad show if you ask me, but how Ai managed to turn the tables on her interrogation was just amazing...
Date a Live is my guilty pleasure anime. I don't even like harem shows in the first place, though comedies can work... Kurumi is the one girl who stays outside of his harem and has the most complex character of them all. Plus, getting occasional help from a homicidal maniac makes for interesting storytelling... Except for Gundo, they can all be regarded as villains.
Like 7star no magic but come across Orsted... yeah I would want to stay there. Sure as of that point no magic. but magic items are still an interest and I would search for the elves and what not for friends; I'd be more optimistic about still having a chance at gathering MP.
Which leads to roving each land. If I found Kishirika I would see if she might be able to give me special eyes; under the assumption that they possess magic and therefore might spark it in myself.
Live or Die I would at least not be in this ugly world politics and war where the haves deny things from the have nots... worst of all only humans exist here as a sentient race.
But a world with Goblins and Nymphs have so much more to offer.
I mean, it's come to something when the politics in a world with slavery and wars for succession as commonplace seems appealing compared to here. I think it'd be more interesting, sure (as long as you make it out of the wasteland if you arrive like Nanahoshi) but I really don't think the problems people have in medieval type fantasy worlds are easier to deal with than the problems we have...
@@NatalieXHunter Logically I agree with you that Medival Fanasty worlds have a lot more dangers to face.
But the existence of Adventurer Guilds to me at least make them seem more free and less constricted.
Here I could give it my all for decades and still fail because someone else got in my way at a critical moment... but if your apart of an adventurer guild then your hard work is a lot harder to interfere with... at least that is how I see it.
Say I never met an Orsted and I remained in that waste land that 7star arrived in... that would be worse than my current fate. No denying that. No friends and monsters trying to kill me constantly. No magic to defend myself with. No thank you.
But I get dropped off at the magic academy like her... I would try to learn everything magical and monster related I could. May not end well, but my optimism would be fueled by the fact the world has magic... if it has it then so could I... somehow.
Honestly forget if ever mentioned... but did Nanahoshi ever try blood transfusion? that might be able start magic in a person without it. You'd be no rudeus mind but you might be able to reach base villager level.
I feel that if Dr. Strange was the soul that was transferred to Rudy instead (full med doc knowledge plus the sorc sureme stuff) then he might of found a way to break the age limit on magical improvement of self. I know weird to bring him into the mix. But he's the best doc I can think of that also knows magic.
So what if Rudy was European and didn’t know how to speak Japanese, would Nanahoshi still figure out that he was from another world?
Yes, because of something she knows from Orsted. She suspected he was from another world since the first time they met, when he didn't say anything in Japanese or know she was from there. I assume they would have just talked about it in the local language instead of Japanese in that scene.
3 things.
1. if anything I think Nana choosing to still go back home, despite not aging, is the bigger wtf to me. perhaps she's still young, and young girls don't think about THE WALL IS UNDEFEATED until they hit said wall.
who wants to bet that as soon she hits the wall (reaching wizard age aka 30 and up, except for women) she will be wanting to go back to their world? except when she did she's also forever 30 in their world?
2. "I like this world"
"I have no regrets"
also rudy: throats his knoife Sara arc.
3. finally eris belongs to the streets. you leave rudy, you don't deserve rudy.
Pfffft I'm over 30 and I do alright.
@@NatalieXHunter you married though?
what meds are you taking?
who's gonna pay for your meds?
who's gonna pay for the husband's meds?
LOL no, I'm not, I came out of a long term relationship last year, which is how come I know dating after 30 is actually not difficult at all. Believe it or not, not all relationships work out, so sometimes even women who got together with someone before 'the wall' end up single, as do men. I know people like to think it's all very simple and that women are stupid and don't want to be in serious relationships until it's too late for them, but that's a complete fiction if you look at people in the real world.
As for meds, none, but if I was on any they'd be free because I don't live in America, so it's a moot point.
@@NatalieXHunter you're not under meds "for now". wait it a few years. and no, no man wants to date a patient at that point.
as for your relationship, that's the best you'll ever have. again no one wants to have anything long term to a patient.
but back to Nana, she wants to go back to the original world for now, but wait till she's under permanent meds. she'll REGRET even entertaining the idea. take it from me, who's sentenced to metformin for life.
@@komocakeps527 you seem like you're projecting a fair amount there. On what basis would you assume a person you don't know is going to need medication in the future? That just implies you base your ideas about everybody on weird stuff you've seen online. Sure, I was heartbroken when my last relationship ended, but that's a normal sadness most people will go through at some point, not a mental illness. And with time you feel better, not worse. You really need to stop ascribing your view of women's lives that you got from the internet to real people you don't know, who are probably a lot more experienced with the world than you are (what with having hit 'the wall' and all). You just sound bitter and naive.
Nanahoshi does remind me a lot of older Isekai stories, where the characters feel they don't belong and, even if they get past these feelings, they always have at least one episode dedicated to introspection and thinking whether they'd rather go back or not, to the point that some even momentarily have gotten cold feet and thought "maybe I shouldn't finish my mission here"
I am pretty sure Nanahosho said she doesn't have periods which is the opposite of what you said on the video.
Just a small thing but hey
Really, I thought she said in the novels that she still did have them, but it's a while since I read it so I may be misremembering that detail.
@@NatalieXHunter When she had her breakdown she said it when she listed stuff that were awful and/or off about her or her situation.
Well thats what I remember anyway. Maybe I'm wrong. I didn't check but I'm quite sure about this

I tried to think of a funny comment but that failed...
40 minutes ago 😮? Who says you need to be a subscriber to stay up to date on uploads 😅
There's no shame in accepting help from your family to save money! I think we're going to see many more multigenerational homes as the global economy trends further down.
(p.s. I'm in a very similar situation, so you're not alone.)
Yeah, but my dad lives in the middle of nowhere so it was terrible, I could never live there permanently. I can't drive so I'd have to walk like 4 miles in the blazing heat just to go to the ATM or whatever...
@@NatalieXHunter Sometimes a change of pace is nice, even if you don't appreciate it at the time. Sorry for the boomer non-advice, but I feel compelled to offer some sort of words of comfort.
Welcome back.

My life isn't *that* bad but dang I sure as shit want to get a whole dimension away from climate change, especially if I get the "start as a baby" package.
