Adult Swim made a huge mistake declining Pibby. It would’ve been one of the most insane current adult animated series ever, like how Smiling Friends was.

I’m getting an uncanny feeling of how people would feel in an alternate universe about FOX cancelling Family Guy, and it never, ever being revived.
Not that Pibby would have ended up that way, but I feel like there’s another future where we cursed the day we ever laid eyes on it. I don’t know for sure though.

It's such a tragedy that we may never see these concepts and ideas play out. It looks so cool. This had so much potential to be the one of the greatest animated shows ever made. What was Adut Swim thinking?

Adult Swim and CN aren't doing great financially, so they are not willing to take as many risks are they used to. Learning With Pibby is a huge risk, as well as a huge cash drain, since not ALL of CN's shows were owned exclusively by Warner Brothers, meaning that they would have to pay to use those show owners any time their characters or backgrounds were used in Learning with Pibby. This would be a risk though that I think is worth taking, just because of the hype that the show idea has.
Adult Swim did the BIGGEST FUMBLE OF THE CENTURY, the potential, the designs, the concepts, the story all of these would have played out so well if adult swim made Pibby green-lit.
Honestly, i feel like Adult Swim really wanted it to be greenlit since they're giving a nod to Pibby with the billboards, their twitter bio etc. They had no choice but to reject it because there is a LOT of copyright issues and licensing that they need to work with.
Honestly, if Pibby really is cancelled, the art of her getting corrupted seems like a fitting send off.

I love how now the corrupted characters are not just the same but with white eyes and some distortion, they just turn into mean characters that swear a lot and are agressive, but can also turn into monsters if it's needed.
Ngl it's cool that Dodge is sharing all of this, it seems that the show being canceled is a good thing now because we can see even more pibby content!
Imagine hearing Characters like Bugs Bunny, Steven Universe, Finn and Jake, or Gumball swearing, that would be pretty funny

I can see Pibby become a full on Max original movie, with iconic cartoon characters going full on body horror. Like the Animaniacs fused into one messed up black and white monster with sharp teeth with blood all over. Scooby-Doo as a skeletal with flesh remains of his formal self. I can see this work as a movie, as we need more animated horror.
Sounds like a good idea ngl. 1h 56m-2h 20m of that would be amazing(Hell, I'd take 3h 15m!).

I agree it should become a Max original film series. I would love a part where piby meets Superman and Superman complains that his new show is too light-hearted for adult swim and kids can't watch it cuz it's on that Network even though it and unicorn Warriors Eternal look kid-friendly on the surface. Now if only Batman Caped Crusader would also find another home on Adult Swim since that show is for adults only, unlike my adventures with Superman which should have aired on Cartoon Network and not Adult Swim which means Teen Titans Go will have Less airings weekly to make room for this misplaced cartoon. Imagine if Teen Titans Go was on Adult Swim instead of that show. Kids won't watch it anymore because if it's on Adult Swim it'll have more adult content.

I think it's insane how there's a whole fandom for a series that doesn't even exist.
I was really interested, even though I heard very little about it, but a kids show with a dark twist is very up my alley. Let's hope we get more content from this

Honestly, I feel like the main reason Pibby hasn't gotten greenlit, is because a show chalked full of references to various cartoons would by a copyright nightmare. Especially when you have to rely on every single show allowing you to twist and mutilate their characters, something I'm sure a lot of big companies wouldn't like. It'd be highly profitable, but very hard to get everyone to sign off on it.
I mean, down the line when a bunch of characters go into the public domain, I could totally see a show do something like learning with pibby with characters that have been around for a while.

I'm sorry if I come off as rude, but the notion that we'll be alive to see any of those characters in the public domain is just really funny to me.
Most of the characters in the trailer won't be in the public domain until, at the earliest, we're all old and in retirement homes. They might not even go into the public domain ever, if these companies keep getting their way.
Yeah that’s how I see it too. I genuinely doubt it’d be accepted to have fuckin LT or T&J characters die in gory fashions or get mutilated in an official show. Realistically, it’s gonna be a nightmare to get all these companies on board with having most of these family friendly characters appear in a show that’s most likely gonna show them getting brutally killed or disgustingly morphed into a monster.
How would they be able to get them to voice act? The voice actor for gumball already has controversy with dream and I don’t think he needs anymore “pibby” undertakings

I love the idea of The Darkness not only Corrupting Cartoon Characters, Corrupt IRL People, but can also Turn Cartoon Characters into Elrich Horrors. Like something you would see in a Meatcanyon Video.

Learning With Pibby was literally one of the most robbed shows in cartoon history. I guarantee you that if it actually released, it would have been a modern day classic.
We can't give up on this, I just know there's someone out there in adult swim, wanting the series, we have to show interest in this series, we have to bring it back!

Ngl 2:07 could work better than just be an outright “dark evil hamburger helper” meme archetype if they made the violent traits in corrupted characters a little less subtle. Imagine a story in Pibby where Yosemite Sam is part of a group of cartoon survivors but ultimately is left out to die because of a notable change in his mental behaviour.
Fr. He just started losing his mind because of the Multiversal Glitch then ends up falling victim to it.
At least now that Pibby is unconfirmed to be a thing Dodge is free to share the concept art he created, non-disclosure agreements and things like that prevented him from doing it until now.
I wish pibby becomes a webcomic, it would feel so nice if it did. Every page could have such detail and have a big impact on other ideas for other webcomic creators
The whole pibby having her hand corrupted reminds me so much of Sonic Frontiers when every time sonic free his friends during his journey in Starfall Islands,he gets corrupted by the cyberspace virus
I don't think Adult Swim should be blamed for this considering just how many people they need to ask to be able to use their characters

You know it really shows how the corruption doesn't have to change the form of the character, rather it does what it does, it corrupts them and makes them into a much eviler version of themselves, my guess is that when the corruption is desperate it would mutate the bodies of the character in order to fit its needs.
I just wish they don’t stop using the whole “deformed face” thing, I love how It looks In some characters Like Finn

It's still a shame that this show will never get green lit 😞. At least we got some behind the scenes of this show of what it could've; can you imagine the potential this show could've had if it got pick up. I guess we don't always get how we wanted things as they are 😭.

At this point, I feel like even Warner Bros. and Discovery don’t want all these cancellations. David Zazlav is the real one to blame here.
I feel like that this is secretly being worked on, and he is really teasing the production. We’ll know that when Greenley posts more art.
Man. You gotta keep in mind how intense it was being pushed, but the amount of other characters in this just shows why it didn't get the green light. Ain't no way the most ambitious crossover of all these characters in the world would actually get greenlit. It was honestly hopeless from the start. Only thing I can say is I hope my comment here ages badly. I so truly want to eat my own words on this and see it happen no matter how much I know it wont.
