    Thanks for the response Mike. The concept of this feedback video series is great. Your set/studio looks great by the way, I had a very similar concept in mind for myself...will have to rearrange now :P

    Awesome think tank fellas! You never disappoint with your videos Mike..... always bringing the smoke, thank you brotha! I was gonna mention also, the old and new style deps 250 and the new style 175 have those fins on each side of the hook hangers also (the old 175 just has them on the front), just like the Nates glide you were showing. They do a fair job of breaking up potential hook rash, and another design feature was that they helped to veil the flashing of the split rings. That totally increased the baits realism in my opinion! Okumura really went down the rabbit hole designing the slideswimmers, he set the bar pretty high with it! I love the look of that Nate's glide by the way, phenomenal bait dude!

    So glad to see the videos starting back up man . I have all but memorized the old ones lol. Your first hand experience with tactics and gear make your information that you relay to us so valuable. I got my first order of Citizens in during winter. Now that winter is wrapping up and it finally stopped flooding here it's time to go stick 'em here in middle TN with the big swims. I am more a glide bait/hard bait guy but the potential of the weedless citizen really has me excited. best, Colin

    Love the new shop Mike! I could see this series doing well. It answered a few of my questions. I noticed you mentioned grinding in fish, and adjusting that to your gear. I throw lighter hooks, and splits on my hard swimbaits. The hope is so fish don't notice as much. I've noticed people on youtube don't seem to play their drag with swimbaits. Is there a reason for that? I think I've only lost 4-5 swimbait fish in the past 2 years, and they were barely hooked.

    Awesome idea Mike! I hope you are able, amidst everything else, to crank out some vids. I’ve been a fan of your thought processes since the Swimbait Nation days and I appreciate all of your contributions.
    I’d like to ask you your thoughts on a Bass’ lateral line. More specifically, how important you think the feel of a bait is to a gnarly old girl. After years of reading In-Fishermen writers discuss the topic, hearing Ken Huddleston’s musings in STE on vibrations and the way a bait feels to a fish, and finally, my own experiences......I’m convinced it’s one of the most important attributes a bait can have. I’m of the opinion that “feel” is often the answer to so many questions about baits and bites from trophies. As you said here, there’s a reason those proven baits are proven and still around. At the end of the day, they are getting something right.

    Great video. Lots of insights shared concisely. You covered split rigs and double split rings but what about using doubled 65 lb braid on trebles to reduce if not eliminate leverage problems?

  • @tylerdawson9800
    @tylerdawson9800 Před 5 lety +2

    Now for the next video, how do you feel about downsizing line size on glide baits to get more movement and response from the bait? For example; throwing a 250 on 17 instead of 25. Sometimes I feel like people are more worried about losing the bait instead of getting the most out of the action...

    Are you going to make a weedless trout bait like the battle shad but in a trout pattern. It would be a sick bait and I would 4 sure buy one.

    Question do you think big baits work all over the u.s. or just in certain states? I'm here in Indiana and I been experimenting with baits I'm talking 8 inch 9 inch baits and I only had 2 followers. Many people where I'm fishing is only throwing traditional baits

    Hello this might be a weird question. Has anybody thought about using a Californian Tri helix 8’ rod as a swim bait rod???? It’s normally a yellowtail rod 8’ but would it dual purpose as a swim bait rod for bass??

    Question: I’m from NC and have been using the hud 68 and hud bluegill for the past 6 months with lots of success. I will be moving to Utah in 2 weeks. I have now idea about fishing in the west. What are some suggestions for swimbaits in Utah at about 4300ft elevation? Thank you keep up the good work.

    I am just starting with swimbaits. I went to Walmart to take a look. They have Castaics and other swimbaits but I bought the Storm Stocker Trout 5 inch to start. I know they are cheap compared to the ones behind you. I have not caught a fish with them. I am starting to get discouraged. Is it the bait or is it me? I like the soft baits over the hard baits. I have Heavy Berkley Shock rod and a curado.
