At the end they weren't talking about Delta, they were talking about TF141. "The guy with the freaky mask" was Ghost. The "guy with the mohawk" was Soap.
Also interesting is one of the people talking is rapper 50 Cent, mentioned that they weren’t regulation.

During the Black Tuesday mission, Sandman's squad kinda receives reinforcements from a flank attack before reaching the Stock Exchange. It would be nice if those soldiers were actually rangers from the 75th.
@@danielsilvadesouza3060 weren't those guys Green Berets? i remember Sandman said something "its an Alpha Team" when you encounter them, Alpha Team is sometimes what they call the Green Berets if i am not mistaken

They call a Green Beret assault team an O.D.A team, or Operational Detachment Alpha team. This is because in a Special Forces company you have six O.D.A’s and a single O.D.B (Operational Detachment Bravo), which they call the ‘B Team’. This is the place were all the new guys go before getting onto an O.D.A and the older guys don’t want to retire but don’t want to deal with deployments and combat so they just do the admin work for the rest of the company. Think of it like your company headquarters, and the O.D.A’s as platoons. A small platoon, but a highly lethal, size of a large squad, platoon.

I still love that 50 Cent had a minor voice role in MW2, just voicing the random background characters, and the Navy SEALS announcer

Yeah the ..... 75th Ranger regiment is ... for practical purposes, the entire US Army Rangers, about 3000 men- and all the battalions and the companies in those battalions don't or very rarely fight together as one regiment. It's not impossible that the MW2 protagonists weren't in New York, but it's very unlikely. The map is just referring to the fact that a unit from the 75th Ranger regiment is there.
The reference to "Delta" in MW2 is them talking about TF141 (which is secret), with the characters mistaking them for Delta Force.

They were in a joint operation with sandman so it could be possible they went through there, the soldiers saw them with delta operators and assumed they were with delta.

Bro there were probably 2 other Ranger Battalions that could’ve been in New York. Remember 3rd Battalion, 75th took alot of casualties during the battle for DC. High doubt the would send a unit that very under strength.

It's interesting to know that there are small and big details like this that wr haven't noticed for years that we are playing this game. It really connects that dots of where are now the old and new characters and how they were connected and mentioned, or indirectly mentioned.
When the npc asks when they're going to moscow, I don't think he meant that they are going. He was asking it in a way that means he wants to go and burn Russia's capital as payback after retaking D.C. The rangers in MW3 was a small visual easter egg for keen eyed players. Also delta force is an actual SF unit in the US, please don't call them Delta team in the future.

@Driak22 not to mention if you look at it in the game's pov, overlord will sometimes call them delta team,specifically in spec ops. Also this doesn't make sense since you could probably say the same thing about the FBI (bo2), seals (bo2 and mw2) and lastly, the ISA (bo2). So SF or not,they're still a team/part of the army

Just want to let people know that the commentary of those 2 soldiers on MW2 might have been correct about seeing soldiers from Delta.
At the end of MW3 we see a picture of Sandman with 141, they didn’t meet for the first time when saving the Russian president but rather years before that.

I saw 75th Ranger Regiment and I said with myself how familiar this is but I never thought of sgt foley cpl dunn and pvt James Ramirez.
75th refers to all 3 battalions within it. Foley and his guys were just 1st Batt. 2nd and 3rd aren't referenced but 3rd Batt is infamous on their rotations to the Middle East and SoF placement. Odds are the "75th" in NY could've been any of the Batts, let alone the 6 or so companies within each one of them. So this doesn't mean they were there. Same with Sandmans team being mentioned, as a photo later reveals Sandmans team and TF141 did deployments together, including at the base you start the tutorial in.
As many casualties as the 11th battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment took in MW2 I highly doubt they'd be in any condition to be redeployed to New York from Virginia.
@@hunterkiller232134 There is no 11th Battalion, and Ramirez is a part of 75th/1st Battalion. Same With Allen. The entire conflict in VA likely saw 1st and 3rd Batt deployed, but the entire US force wasn't comprised of solely 75th. 75th Reg only has ~3500 people. But it is still fair to assume casualties were high, however that doesn't stop units from deploying and like I said even just 2nd batt could've gone to new york or companies within 1st or 3rd Batt joining them with lesser numbers. My point was the protagonists matter of factly were 1st Batt with two other battalions not mentioned whom likely could be the ones in NY's AO. There still is the chance Foleys team did join in with other Batt members to secure NY. We just don't know. 2nd Batt is out of VA, while 1st and 3rd are out of Georgia. So idk what IW's vision was with that.
Considering there are 3 Battalions of the 75th Rangers, 1st and 3rd could've all been deployed in DC while 2nd was in NY. At least that's how Cameron Fath from Shift Fire says deployments work.

I do want to point out just because the game says the 75th Rangers were in New York, it doesn’t mean Sgt Foley’s team was there. The 75th Ranger regiment has multiple battalions, multiple companies making up those battalions. Sgt Foley’s team could be standing by in D.C. for “when the time is right.” It’s nice to think it’s them tho.
I honestly never noticed the 75th Ranger Regiment was in MW3. It did put a smile on my face but I would've been great if we'd fought along side them in NY. I hope they made it too.
wait a minute did the rangers that talking about delta team and guy in 'mohawk' talking about Sandman and Soap? because i remembered that when in MW3's briefing it shows a photo of sandman and some peoples that being blacktaped in the photo this might be become the first idea about the relationship between sandman and delta team with Soap, Price and TF-141, and make the possible reason why they are together in "down the rabbit hole" mission
Ngl doesn't mean those guys are in NY just that a battalion or whatever is deployed there. The 75th is a large regiment

That would make a lot more sense actually, because Frost's mask is well within regulations, realistically it would just be very warm and I would just do what he does during the winter. While Ghost's mask indeed people in the army will make fun of. Specially the rebooted one.

The 75th Ranger regiment, in new York does not mean that it was Foley and his team. Duo to the fact that there are 3, maybe 4 battalion in the 75th Ranger regiment.

Although I would love this theory to be true but there's no confirmation if it's 1st battalion who is in Washington, It could be 2nd. 3rd. 7th, Could be any battalion within the Ranger Regiment

well it's hard to know for sure if foley, ramirez, and dunn where in new york because the 75th rangers have multiple units.

I have no evidence to back this up, but in the second to last mission, I always believed when we’re sneaking past the guards in the cave before the first breach that group that was just their chilling was Hunter21Battalion
and now that I’m thinking about it 141 (COD 4) taking out Hunter21 (MW2) is poetically upsetting in the best way possible

75th Ranger regiment has 3 main battalions, Foley was the leader of the 1st squad 2nd platoon 1st company (alpha), 1st battalion, there were so many other squads of other platoons/ companies/ regiments. Not necessarily that Foley n team were there

That is an interesting and wonderful detail, I doubt the reboot MW3 has anything like this.
Taking into consideration the incident of half the staff of IW left half-way MW3 development AND they were only mentioned in the 1st MW3 mission (in other words, was among the early missions developed), I believe they had plans to show Foley and his team again, because if you think about it their story (unlike Jackson from COD4 and Delta Team) ended on a cliffhanger.
Now due to development issue and both Raven and Sledgehammer stepped in to help, lots of ideas were either scrapped or forgotten for the sake of meeting the deadline. This also answers lots of what is like unfinished parts of MW3's campaign for example Wallcroff appear in a mission into cutscene during the russian invasion but never seen again, or GIGN's 'Sabre" and 'Faucon" members who were left behind and never to be contacted again.
I love these details, you should maybe contact a youtube who do focus on thee things as well and let hin share it with more COD people, you probably heard of him, "Inkslasher". Keep it up!
Hey in Black Tuesday. The dead driver in the beginning of the mission is a MW2 Task Force 141 Operator.
When those guys in the firing range they where talking about Soap and Ghost
75th Ranger Regiment consist of 3600 total personnel. Highly doubt the entire regiment was in NYC at one time

The name of the Special Forces group is the 75th Ranger Regiment. It does not mean they were in New York. There are tons of Rangers. So they could have been there but they probably stuck close to Washington. The 75th Ranger Regiment is big.

Don't think so. They were not part of 141. Basically in MW2, the original 141 was out tracking Makarov outside of US. So General Shepherd assumed control over 75th Ranger Regiment to carry out tasks and special objectives within the US. An entire regiment cannot be a part of 141 realistically. It consisted of individual warriors from different units. Also by the end of MW2 141 pretty much went rogue and was disavowed. So there was no official 141 anymore.
The only member of the 75th Ranger Regiment to also be apart of Task Force 141 was PFC. Joseph Allen, but uhh, we all know how that went.
If u replay og mw2 wolverine mission shepherd told Foley that his unit is at another country which is Tf141 so he will be commanding his unit for while.
75th Rangers could have been any Battalion from the 1st to 3rd to Headquarters and STB , but seeing as to how DC and New York is roughly a a 4hr drive I wouldn’t bet against it being the 1st BT 75th Rangers

I don't remember rangers talking about Delta in the original version of MW 2. I think they only added in the remastered version

No, I didn't notice Sgt. Foley in MW3. Because him or his name was never once explicitly referenced in MW3. The Delta team that the rangers were talking about in MW2 was a reference to task force 141. In fact, in multiple locations of that level coming from different Rangers, they all reference the mohawk: Soap and the mask: Ghost, none of which were a part of Delta Force as seen in MW3. This video is a hoax. Shame
Perhaps 75th included not just Foley, Dunn and Ramirez...
