I vote for attempting a reliable 700whp build without going overboard - so standard head bolts/gasket, rods & piston UG, keep the DCT, ask Austin very nicely for the Nexsys DI delete and run it all of a stock ECU. I'm not sure anyone has really yet established the baseline needed for reliable 7xxwhp (i.e. before you get into closed deck/sleeves power)
Interior wise: back seat delete, DIY alcantatra headlining and ABC pillars, some F82 or G82 buckets, and of course a custom audio system (with front sub to keep the weight down / in the right place).
Headlights: Full rebuild with pixel halos and switchbacks, and blacked out housings.

Great job zeroto60. It would be awesome if you do a price point rebuild. With the cost of piezo injectors and HPFP a DI delete would be good. Also a m57 6hp28 is the most cost effective trans upgrade, so it would be cool if you did one of those. Arashi ball bearing TT’s. SLG 8.8 diff as the choice/cost of centre and ratio is awesome. An xtrons install for gps and full car play. Poly subframe bush’s and engine/trans mounts. Tail shaft centre bearing upgrade. Also do a full run down on which suspension up grade is best, coilovers or h&r springs with Bilstein B14 shocks. M3 control arms and even swaping are bushings to spherical. Thanks for not forgetting about us N54 tragic’a and I can’t wait to see your build take shape.

-8hp (it’s going to happen just get it done and focus on something else)
    -dickase front brakes
    -15 inch rear brake conv.
    -8.8 inch rear end
-Apple car play/ android auto upgraded idrive
    -m4 seats
    -m3 style or custom Custer

Good to see the return of N54 content. I cant wait to see this. Not just an N54 build, but the car as a whole. I kind of want to see you go nuts with the N54 and go with head studs, closed deck inserts, head work, ect, but I know most people wont ever go down that road. Honestly, push the power as high as you can while doing it the way your average person would do it. Build out the suspension, poly bushings, coil overs, the whole 9 yards... or what ever that is meters. I think it would be a cool build to see. Either way, cant wait to see what you end up with. Its going to be good.

NBT nav would be interesting. Bilstein dampers (B12 or B16). For trans, just put new clutches in and try out the M3 GTS software as it really clamps down hard at takeoff, but make sure you get an engine tuner that understands torque reporting so you don't smoke them again. Also I'd vote for a proper ATB diff over the lunchbox things.

Firstly, it is sad to see your black E92 in such a state as is it now. Hopefully, a cut and polish will restore the paint back to the way it was previously. From the state of your hood lining and rear seats, it appears that water leak you had previously is still there in the roof. Apart from getting a replacement for the rear seats, I don't know what else you could do. For the front seats, a set of M4 seats would look good. For the rear end, I would recommend a M3 diff and axles or 8.8 Ford diff with DSS axles. Both are costly but with 700+hp , in the long run, they are cheaper than replacing standard diffs and axles. A built engine is a must for longevity with 700+hp on tap. As you are well aware, the 8 spd will be far better all round compared with the DCT. I would go 8 spd straight up and sell the DCT. I can't wait to see the series of videos that you will produce with this project. I am sure Andrew that you will restore/rebuild your car back better than it previously was.

Depends on the purpose of the car and how much daily you want to retain. Far as the interior: Rear seat delete, carbon block off panel, alcantara headliner, pillars, and contrasting storage deck where seats used to be with tiedowns for helmet storage or whatever. Could even sacrifice some of the former rear occupant elbow room on each side and put in twin subs... there is a ton of space in there IF you're willing to pop out that second cover thing behind the 'door' cards. I've got an android head unit with physical buttons and still like that a LOT but have been working on all the wiring for a digital rearview mirror this weekend... that should be in on Tuesday and look pretty clean. Also it's still a mirror if it fails, which is good.
Far as diff. stuff, I'd love to see you try a cheap kit since I'm cheap and your experience making your own upgraded LPFPs helped me go and do mine in a similar way. I would look into adding some of those foam cubes to the fuel tank lobes that reduce slosh. The retail kits are too damn pricey but if I can figure out exactly what kind of foam it is, chemically... then should be easier to buy wholesale and just cut the bastard up! Got off topic. The other diff option with DCT I've wanted to try for ages to make use of that DCT's shift speed and extra ratio is putting an M3 rear end on it, which would make the gearing shorter. I calculated a table back in the day for that and could go find it if you'd like. I think the car would be more fun to drive especially with a single turbo format because you'd get to use all the rev range, and possibly even add an extra 500-800rpms depending on internals/valvetrain.
I know projects aren't completed as quickly as youtube videos make it seem but you can do it. -- Cheers!

How will the cheap lsd thing hold up to the power? For the price I say let's find out. I'd go stock dme untill this is the bottleneck. It doesn't seem to be. Gonna be lots of good vids! My experience is that the DCT copes pretty well with slip on launch, especially the thick OEM clutches :) Upgraded clutches are thinner and the metals warp easier with heat because of that. Whats really hard on the clutches is slipping under high power, like if it slips at high RPM and full load for more than a second or two. What can also cause clutch slip is inaccurate torque signals and/or adaptations. I can show what values to look at regarding adaptations in INPA if you want :)
These are my experiences at least, I did over 200 slip-launches in my E30 4wd DCT with no issues, good grip but also shorter diff ratio and lighter weight than E92 so that my affect it too maybe.

Hell yea! SOOO happy to see you back at it with this car man. JMC with the DCT will be mean. It would be cool to see the F10 M5 wheel go on this that fits e90's. Just did a full alcantara headlining and all the A, B and C pillars in my E90 and I love the aesthetic, so I recommend that. I vote blue for the brakes and the spoiler looks good, just a little spicy but not too distracting. I would love to see an upgraded rods and pistons build on oem head gasket and head bolts. That's what is feasible for most people to do and seems the most relevant. On the dif side of things, if you have an early model build with the bolted dif you could get one of the mfactory bolt in LSD's that are legit but DIY style and cost way less than a pumpkin. Personally I would stay on stock DME and run reflex and MHD.
No matter what you choose to do and how the build ends up, I'm certain it will turn out amazing and I am along for the ride🤤🤤🤤

Interior stripout if it unbolts throw it away, 8HP70, 8 1/2" diff. Maxx ECU Pro, Pistons and rods sleeved block (Leave it open deck) I liked the idea of mazda head bolts(maybe not toqued as high), Head port on exhaust and +1mm exhaust valves. Now Pistons can lower compression but if you have E85 at the pump stay high compression and E85 dedicated, Plazmaman intake manifold, DI delete

Hey Andrew. About the diff lock sets. I know a n54 guy in the US. He mounted the set on his 600WHp e90. He blew the set quickly and decided to go for an(expensive) M3 diff. He had also gotten rid of the 6-speed auto( burned the clutches) and mounted a 6-speed manual shift. But because he was very interested in the F-series B48 Turbo platform, he sold the car last year (after many years) and now drives a build 500Hp 330I. He made me n54 addicted. Have a good one.
Btw I heard the Victor Reinz head gaskets are the same quality as the BMW OEM ones. Dutch regards Nico.

Probably all the same, I just finished replacing the oil pan gasket and turbos on my xdrive e90 and bought a mahle gasket and surprise it said victor rinze on the gasket lol. Looked identical to the stock gasket minus the old crusty rubber. I don't think it really matters, the machining is the important part, unfortunately nothing comes close to the factory machining.

Hey super duper ambitious but have you seen the 335d with tri turbo setups?
They replace the dpf with a big turbo that compound the smaller twins, does this sound like a crazy experiment you may want to attempt?

Well it’s a special setup on the 335d. It can bypass the 2 small ones, so they are not a limitation. So not all gas neeeds to go through the small twins. Compound setups are wild, probably a bit too wild for me.

plEASE REDYE THE LEATHER (brown & beige) WITH AN AIRBRUSH ! its so much easier than the sponge method everyone uses and wrap the dash in the same colour leather it'll look crazy! ive wrapped my dash in micro suede which was a way easier job than leather , a year ago and its holding up good - im just concerned for you with the Australian heat and no front windshield tint and parking outside ive heard of peoples microsuede colour fading they may have just used a cheap quality one since theres some drop top corvettes that come in all alcantara and they hold up fine. very proud to see you back at it love from canada!

I think the key issues with boosted engines is the first two rings on the Pistons. Most people Gap them too short. Boosted annuals will produce a lot of heat in the Piston area and if the ends of the rings hit together you're going to have failure. Another thing most don't do is they need to cut in a hoop. Yeah a hoop. Basically it's a seal between the head and the block to contain the pressure of the boost. These are heavily used in ProMod cars

    • @InTuneGarage
      @InTuneGarage Před 5 měsíci

@@ZeroTo60Tube Definitely, there is another LSD that a friend on mine bought also from ebay that came from the UK? I think it costs like 900AUD all up. Looks like a quaife could also be another option for you! But yeah even if i did have to pay for it i would probably give it a shot since its pretty cheap, as long as you install it correctly its pretty good. Over the years one thing ive definitely learnt is every time i hear "If you didnt wanna pay big $$$ dont buy an n54" i roll my eyes, Your channel, plus others overseas and in forums have shown theres more than one way to skin the cat haha. I think some people are just way too much of a purist to admit when something works while also factoring in that anyone can have problems with something, take the viv 17t's im sure theres 1000's of people with no issues, but also hundreds who had issues. Sometimes its just unlucky

Ok first off, that JMC kit at 30 psi with the turbo you had on it is over 800 wheel allll day! Jake Spence made 750 wheel on 26 or 28psi with a Gen 1 6266 Precision. If I was you, I’d put rods, pistons & and pinned crank hub, put it back together with ARP studs, you don’t have to go over size! Run it with the motiv reflex you have, port injection Phoenix kit, stage 3 pump & you’ll have a nice 700-800 wheel car! Put a stick in it with a twin disc. Get a mint used steering wheel or have that one recovered. Rear seat delete, like a carbon fiber Nelson racing wheel one? Or get a used mint interior, they’re all over the place. Best way to go about the diff is get a used E92 M3 diff & bolt that in with the M3 axles. This isn’t rocket science & plenty of guys out there with 600-700 wheel reliable cars on stock engines or had stock engines for a long time of beating them! I’ll have my turbo in, in a few months. I’m running a Doc Race top mount with a GTX3582R. It would be great to see you put it back together brother & we can all help you source the shit you need….🤷🏻‍♂️💪🏻
