First one is "Битвы Fantasy" or "Battles Fantasy" -- 44mm minatures. It's about magic island, it has three wizards, and they summon soldiers from any time and any place to fight in their wars. For this game its normal when orks fight vs stalingrad troops, lizardmens vs carribean pirates, romans with vikings or cossacks)). Game rules are very easy, you could undestand it in 10-15 minutes. Also it has real shooting from cannons. Best part of Tehnolog is castles/terrain - its really detailed and very cheap, speccialy for first world countries. Second one system is StarSystems or Bronepehota (ArmoredTroops) - it's about war in far future, between two forces - Imperium of Polaris Prime and Trading Protectorate. So, Imperium good at biological things and use clones, and Protectorate good at hiring mercenaries / creating battle androids. This game system has walking machines and mighty heroes - Imperium Lords and Protectore Advisors. Its played very similar to one britain popular table game~ So, Tehnolog has problems with GWS because part of troops, Trading Protectorate robots was VERY SIMILAR to GWS Space Marines. GWS won lawsuit, tehnolog lost a lot of money and destroy printing forms. Also, i could say that they make this CastleCraft series only for one reason - aim at foreign rich market.
With GW miniatures you're paying for miniatures that are priced for a constructed monopoly. You can use them only for warhammer and you can play warhammer only with them. Otherwise you can just buy the rules and set up with your friends in order to play with the miniatures you like that you pay a price you prefer... Or you could try whole other wargames altogether.
These are more like toy plastic soldier than miniatures. If you want quality, you have to pay for it. Gw is not the only one expensive: Hero Forge, Mierce Miniatures, Knight Models, Atomic Mass, Archon Studio... They are all more and less on the same price range.
@@chimera916 I just got some 54mm Technolog miniatures last week. They are a lot like toy soldiers but with more and better details than regular plastic army men. I feel like they'll look good when they've been painted. Definitely worth the price for me, but I just like to paint figurines, I'm not into gaming
What a great wife. She had something positive to say about each piece. Some paint and patience these would all be awesome! I'm definitely checking this company out.
With all the 54mm scifi minis, you could play Rogue Stars from Ospry! Their official minis are 28mm, but the rules are minis agnostic and state that you can use other similar scales so long as all the minis used in a game are the same scale. It's a great skirmish game!
They definitely have a very specific house style that's incredibly chunky and occasionally looks a bit daft but I do kind of dig it all the same. It feels a bit like 2000AD. They have some Sisters of Battle inspired (Cousins of Conflict, maybe) minis that I think look pretty neat and the mechs will look great with some paint on them. I also quite like the models I've seen of theirs which are a sort of like a small set of zombie/cyborg wild West bandits, though they seem to be a bit awkward to find. I know the garish plastic is for the benefit of people who don't want to paint the models and just want to play but it really makes it difficult to see all the details, even considering the lack of texturing to the sculpts.
Welcome Stevo. There’s tremendous kitbashing potential in those cheap vehicle sprues. I’m going to steal one of the claws to build a chaos ogryn I think.
I am tempted to buy the castle for d&d for sure...I play in a homebrew world so the size of the included minis doesnt matter much. Too big, they're mixed with giant blood, too small, they are mixed with dwarf or halfling blood. No sweat. The scifi stuff looks like a lot of fun as well. I've got my three kids and my wife into homebrewed d&d so a homebrewed scifi game might be something they dig as well. Great video thanks a lot for posting!
I can see this being really fun and useful trying to teach a young kid wargaming. I remember heroscape being similar for me, but no assembly or painting.
For the 54mm ones, if I remember right, that's Inquisitor scale... For the ones with the castle, they look like they might match up pretty well with the D&D minis and others, they looked to have thinner bases and their poses aren't best for matching up height since their in the spread leg crouch position...
I used to have some of the walkers and vehicles but never knew about some of the upscale fantasy figures. Just picked up a few non-human figures to use as larger creatures since the sculpts are very unique. With a little flash cleanup and some paint, they should be perfect for various mini games. My wallet thanks you for spending more of my money. 🤣 Great video and really like how both of you embrace and enjoy the hobby for various reasons.

Tehnolog Bronekorpus tanks helped me along my first poorhammer journeys into Warhammer 40K. Lots of extra guns and parts for the tanks, and dirt cheap. There should be a chemical supply structure that would be great for 40K/scifi or even modern games. The castle always looked pretty solid to me.

Really interesting - Now I’m retired I make up ‘toy soldier’ sets to give away to less well off folks, for reasons of cost I use 54mm for 3-7 year olds and 20mm for 7 and older. World War Two is not too difficult, Knights and Knaves can be done (although the Chinese knock-off ‘knights’ are rather Asiatic in appearance and weaponry) but sci fi is just hard, especially in 54mm scale. There is the TimMee Galaxy Laser Team Space Figures set and SCS Direct offer ‘robots’ and ‘humans vs aliens’ but I have to make the space ships and ground vehicles (finding decent wheels is a pain, I tend to opt for RC model aircraft wheels). The robots vs aliens comes with some handy female figures (I can back-date them for fantasy sets by adding Milliput skirts, girls seem to like fantasy) and there is a ‘bucket of dragons’ set that has some nice fantasy figures that go well with 54mm and a bunch of dragons suitable for 20mm (I buy boxes of 12 large dragons for the 54mm fantasy sets). The scenery I make, and they get notes on how to make more. Thus far the kids seem to play with them pretty much as we did, some go on to wargaming, some go on to diorama building and some just carry on playing toy soldiers (in one case now with their own kids using a set I made 20 years ago). So I will definitely be looking out for some of these (if they are way off in scale I’ll use them for parts). Thanks for posting.
