I am in a similar place with gaming. I just retired and I want to play games of various sorts so small scale skirmish games and rules light is the way to go. Space Weirdos is certainly on the menu. I may mesh some games with a Gaslands campaign too. FYI that little chimp is Comet the Galacteer's mascot. He's from Hydra Miniatures who make some really cool retro sci-fi minis and have some rules for them as well.

The two beastmen you mention near the end say look like sheep - you might be right! The model featured in the Death on the Reik from the Enemy Within Campaign and it had green two headed sheep in adventure!

Stumbled across this 3 Yr old vid... Pretty good value on those minis... I'd gladly use them right out of the box in some OPR skirmish games.
They're actually not bad for pre-painted figs. I touched them up a bit with paint and shade, just for the heck of it. But as you said, you could use them right out of the box. No problem.
Have you guys thought about touching on fistful of lead again? I’m aware you did a video a while ago covering the sci fi supplement but I’m interested in what your stance on the system is, in comparison to garske’s “weirdo” series.
Gosh, that was a long time ago! We don't have the current editions of FFoL or Galactic Heroes, so I really don't know anything about them. As I recall, the original rules used a card-based activation system? And had a lot more character abilities to choose from? So significantly different than Space Weirdos, with is a lean, 'zine format game. It would be comparing apples to oranges, really.
I love it. 40k is getting soft. And the commies hate it? Awesome. Christ is king.

Questions, guys: Why are Foot Knights only aloud to move sideways 1,5 inches? In the current rulebook it is written: "The unit may also move sideways or backward by up to half its move instead of moving forward (may still pivot)." I thought the standard movement is 6 inches so that makes 3 inches imho. Even if they are slow it reduces the movement to 4 inches, what makes it 2 inches instead. Other than that: Great battle report! Looking forward to my own first match on wednesday. Cheers from Berlin!
That was a while ago, but I believe we cut all the ranges and movement distances in half to accommodate the smaller 3x3 table.

We were actually about to before the studio was wiped out. It’s a bigger game, requiring more minis, so we’ll have to rebuild the game room before we can look at it again.
