This video is how to add (program) an additional smart FOB key (FCC ID: HYQ14FBC IC: 1551A-14FBC IFT RLVDE1415-0439 to Your Toyota Prius 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 via Techstream v.14.30.023 Windows 10 64bit with OBD2 cable mini-Vci J2534.
Firmware 1.4.1, original FTDI FT232RL chip make the performance higher or Remove previously added/programmed keys, in case you've purchased your car used and concern about some one else may have keys to your car.
this will also works on older Toyota prius 2012, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015.

TIS Techstream v12.10.019 video works same way for v14.20.019 version on the amazon link. v14.30.023 require registration key that amazon seller will send you, however v14.20.019 has patch file for windows 32bit and 64bit that can be used right away. Make sure your driver installed:

This cable and Techstream software will also work on other Toyota cars like Corolla, Camry, Sienna etc also Lexus.

#1 For sure... you cannot simply register (i.e. add) a used Smart Key that has been previously registered on another vehicle. You need to go through an additional reset procedure explained below
#2 "New" smart key, you can simply register (i.e. add) a factory fresh Smart Key w/o doing the reset procedure...
To register a used Smart Key that was previously registered on another vehicle.
#1 Go into TechStream
#2 Goto Smart Key
#3 Goto Smart Key Reset
#4 Click Get Seed Code (Make sure you have JAVA installed on the PC, otherwise you just see an empty box where the seed code should be).
#5 Copy that big long seed code into the clip board
#6 goto sigmabit.eu/calculation-of-pas...
Enter your SEED code and VIN and pay $26 USD. They will send you the corresponding passcode via email (mine came in about 10 minutes). They DO NOT OFFER THIS ANYMORE.
#7 Enter the passcode and then the 16 minute reset process begins... there is a timer on the screen that counts down the minutes (you must keep driver door open the entire time...)
#8 After the reset is complete, go into the register option and register ALL your keys. You register them all one right after the other. Just put the first up to the smart key button... wait for beep... put the 2nd up... wait for beep... and so on... when done with all the keys, click registration complete. - Věda a technologie

Thanks my friend I was able to use techstream 13.0.22 with a mini VCI cable from amazon and a OEM key I bought from Toyota Part Deal for my 2017 Prius Prime that came with only one key so I saved a couple hundreds from the dealership.

In your aliexpress link there are two models for this cable with different chips(Ft232rl and ft232rq). Which one to buy for Toyota axio hybrid 2018. Also to mention there is no listing of this car in the software as in your video. But the car's mechanics are same as on Toyota Prius c . Little help will be appreciating. Thanks

I used this cable they changing on Amazon, not sure about different chips but I tried 3 different cables purchased at different time about 3 years apart and they work just the same. Older cable version just seamed to be a little slower that’s all. I hope this helps.

Short answer is yes, there different chips that may affect speed or driver type.
I wonder if I can use the same key fob for the 2019 Rav4
I haven't tried that but pretty sure will work with the clean or new FOB

You can remove and add key to the same car multiple times I think I did that in my other video but you cannot add it do different car it has tone wiped out first. That’s why you can’t use preowned fob from other cars unless it fully whipped out. I purchased equipment to while those keys but couldn’t successfully whiled it as it requires admin code and website that spouse to provide codes for like $5 looks like was completely shut down .!key can be erased at the dealer or maybe some locksmith but could be pricey.

I haven’t seen that option in the techstream Programm when I programmed additional key for my 2016 Prius 4 and I’m not sure if that available.
Hi I just programmed my 2013 Avalon smart key but it wont open the trunk. Could this be due to after market keyfob. It didn't come with the toyota logo on the back either
It is possible that aftermarket one or previously erased key won’t program the trunk, I had same issue with programming remote on Lexus. It will not open the trunk and I had not find the solution. Let me know if you had any luck.

It looks like the author deleted his video, it’s pretty simple to do but you have to replace file in the folder once you install it. I can’t remember which one need to search on google.

You have to use unregistered key or clean fob key. To clear it required different equipment and very complicated process or clear it with sealer. It’s easier and less expensive to find unregistered key though.
I have this exact same version 14.30.023 .. but after connecting and going into SmartKey section .. there is no Utility button ?
Why would that button be removed ?
Do you have connected to the car, sometimes program will not recognize the car and you have to start over again. make sure car is on and OBD2 connected. Otherwise i'm not sure

You can just start the car, it’s the same.
After registering the new key, how do I clear out the message " New key registered, contact dealer for details". I have a 2017 rx 350, keys work fine with no issues.
I don’t remember exactly but I think this message disappears after resetting maintenance I after a while. I Don’t recall now. I don’t think it’s affecting anything.

I have a 2017 Lexus RX 350 with one key would it work with a use key that I purchased from eBay?
Yes, just did this on my 2017 rx 350. Very important to make sure the key you buy off eBay is a Virgin key. Got mine off ebay for 100 bucks, and cable for 30. Dealer wanted 400+ for just the key fob.

You will need to search for Fob key that will work with your Avalon 2013. But yes this Programm and cable will work to program additional fob key. Make sure when you buy your fob key it’s new and never been programmed before.

Last time I did research it was website where you send your code and they send you passcode. But that site not irking anymore.
I got 2 key fobs online and both says they failed to register because they are paired with another car. I don’t know how to reset/flash a used key.
It’s not simple and I don’t have instructions on that and it requires special equipment. Best to get clean unregistered FOBs

Nice Video. I wanted to know how much it'll cost me for this entire set up ( for Cable and software ) and can I diagnose the hybrid battery condition with tech stream software ? Is this the same kind of diagnostics dealers and other individual mechanics have ? And is this better than other Bluetooth DBO scanners ? I subscribed .Thank you.
Cable that I purchased came with software techstream for about $50 and new fob key (has to be new or reset not used Fob key) about $98 total spent $148 but I was able to program 2 Prius key and Lexus key and Highlander. I didn’t do any diagnostic or battery scan with it. I think there much better Bluetooth scanners that you connect to OBD2. Good luck.

@@Di011 hi, it should work if same numbers are on the main board. I had similar set I used other keys for Lexus and it did work. Cannot say for sure since I haven’t tried rav4 keys but in general it should work.

@@nadirfloyd yes USA but I didn’t see auris. It may be comparable with similar Toyota type in US though. You can try Corolla for USA as it maybe compatible package.
Hey, can u help me programming my fob? The program ask me for my vin number to send a registration email to the toyota main page all this before I need to put the keyfob on the button etc etc.
did you use program supplied with the cable? if you downloaded you should use instructions to install you do not need to register to program the key. There is link to instruction video how to install program and driver.

Same process And cables should work on all Toyota’s and Lexus 2015-2020. However I haven’t tried on 2018 Prius prime.

If you cannot start the car because you don’t have original key this method will not work. It is only works to program additional fob and only possible with original key.

Yes, it still works. I just did it about an hour ago (Jan 2022) on my 2008 Lexus ES350. I erased old keys and added a new key that I bought on Amazon for $88. I also got the Techstream adapter for $40 at Amazon. Saved me a bunch of money 😀

lahiru dilshan you can download Techstream on the last link in the description below the video. Use 14.20 version so you don’t need the code, can just use crack file that is there.
