    Raleigh ceased U.K. bicycle production in 2002 and the factory demolished and land sold to Nottingham University. Raleigh and Dawes bicycles are now badged and imported from Asian factories.

    I had not heard of James Starley before. Read about William Reilly though the inventor of the Sturmey-Archer 3-speed gear hub.
