I don’t think it was incredible at all. Jon looked really sloppy on the feet. Gane was way too tentative and uncharacteristically over extended on a left that wasn’t even set up, then got his back taken and didn’t even fight Jones hands and tapped within a few seconds of it being sunk in. Really bad performance my gane more than incredible by Jon, let’s be honest.

I think this fight confirmed to me Gane needs a camp change.
After leaving MMA Factory, look at the improved take down defense of Francis. He was a hopeless puppy on the ground with Stipe in the first title fight.I think Ferdinand Lopez and MMA Factory have done all they can for Gane. Gane is my favorite fighter and I don’t wanna see him fall. He can easily build back up. With the assistance of a New Gym, Teachers, and Sparring partners.

Did you see Gane's takedown defense against Francis? He literally gave Francis free takedowns, no IQ whatsoever. Even a mediocre Jones would beat him.
@@bannedaccount6016 I'd of thought he would've at least ironed out some of his takedown deficiencies during camp. Unless the game plan was to keep the fight standing up. His team should've known going into this fight that Jones would attempt a takedown and a submission early, and worked around that possibility. I was very disappointed with Gane's performance, I think he needs to take some serious time off and work on his takedown defence, grappling and Jiu Jitsu.

People seemed to forget how good he is. I think people thought he was lesser from the Reyes fight. I truly believe him when he said he was not motivated and I can believe he was bored of the competition. This time he is motivated, and now here we are with a new heavyweight champion.
I think its more that Cyril has very little technical knowledge of grappling. Reyes knows basic grappling so he could take it to the feet where jones has more holes.

Had all the statistical stats and fight breakdowns and everything locked in and never felt so confident of a underdog winning since Cain vs Werdum and the fact that that was probably Jon’s easiest fight ever really added the spice to the digestion process. Don’t want to jinx myself again, but I do feel like Jon walks through Stipe fairly easily. Jon vs the winner of Blaydes vs Pavlovich is the fight I really want.

It’s not hype stats when you also look at what was a realistic downtrend of Jon’s career as well as potential ring rust and fighting in a division he’s never been at versus the number 1 Heavyweight contender who’s been a Heavyweight his whole life. There were tons of things against Jon coming into this fight that statistically, realistically and visually were against him. If anything it just cements how great he is in there that he went from almost losing to Santos and having a razor close victory against Reyes, to his easiest fight in his whole amateur and pro career being against the number 1 Heavyweight in the UFC that arguably beat Ngannou.

I am still SHOCKED on how quickly Jon finished the fight. I expected rounds in this contest partially due to your commentary. The first angle they showed on TV when Jones had him in a choke, it looked like his arm wasn't under his chin. So when he tapped, a WTF moment happened for me. The replay at a different angle clarified it but still. I expected more from Gane.
