Its crazy how the moment Usman lost, the 170 belt looked way easier to get and a bunch of fighters started to eye it. Usman was like that Lion who scared away the hyenas😂

Idk, he beat gilbert burns and jorge convincingly but jorge was never great. The Colby fights weren’t convincing at all and he looked very human.

Actually lions avoid hyenas when theyre in groups cause a single bite from a hyena is basically a death sentence since they break bones. Hell hyenas actually bully other predators stealing their kills bc of this (cheetahs have it rough already). Also fun fact female hyenas actually have a pseudo dick and they give birth out of and sometimes the babies suffocate and being a male hyena is awful in general (I blame casual geographic for teaching me this).
Chael Sonnen was so dominant that he never lost a single millisecond. He was the most feared fighter of all time.

People say "Oh, Khabib never beat Charles so that tarnishes his legacy." At the time, Khabib had run through the best of the best with absolute dominance, and Charles was a guy who had some good subs and 8 losses. Can you imagine Khabib seeing any other fighter as a challenge, let alone this guy who is so far down the totem pole I doubt Khabib even knew who he was. Get that narrative the **** outta here.

Never did I ever expect to see Anderson Silva on his back after watching him literally defy the odds of losing a bout. What he did in the octagon was simply unbelievable, made everyone and everything look so easy, dude was just miles above anyone else when it came to striking and securing the win. Years of dominance, years of perfection, then he gets caught by Weidman after clowning around… ugh, to this day I still have a hard time sitting through the fight, knowing the outcome. Appreciate the khabib segment, he gets so much hate and disrespect because of his annoying fanbase but he was easily one of the most dominant fighters we’ve ever seen
He was very good but definitely had a lot of perfect matchups due to the time he was active I think he would've struggled with the lightweights that came after but that's just speculation

I remember watching the first Edwards vs Usman fight on vacation late at night on my phone. I was dozing off and coming in and out of consciousness towards end of the 4th round. The fight appeared to be a pretty routinely boring Usman decision victory, so I was starting to lose interest in my tired state. I must’ve fallen asleep for the majority of the 5th round, but I came to the moment Leon knocked out Usman. I legitimately thought I was dreaming for a second. I almost couldn’t believe he did it, and that I woke up the moment it happened.

Honestly, it was after the Chael Sonnen fight that I felt like Anderson lost his "unbeatable" aura. Not even saying it as a meme, but seeing Chael dominate a Prime Silva for 4, almost 5 (until the triangle armbar basically) made Anderson feel human. I think even he said it was the worse beating he ever received

He had a high T to E ratio, which wasn't illegal. He got in trouble with the commission and was suspended mainly for lack of disclosure.

The Gilbert Burns performance vs Kamaru was so lame. He wings these hooks and clips Kamaru, then like you said he just takes a back seat the rest of the round. Once the second round starts he shows zero defensive instincts and just gets overwhelmed by a jab.
This is exactly why he grabbed on to wonderboy in their fight without bothering going for subs
He’s not a high level technical striker, just really fast for 170 and powerful as well.
i started watching mma and ufc during covid so useman was the man he was number 1 p4p and was the biggest name in the company. so when he lost it was top 5 most shocking fight ever
DJ vs Cejudo 2 is my favorite fight of all time. In my opinion, the highest level fight we've ever seen in the UFC. A truly iconic performance for Cejudo, and that speaks volumes considering he got outstruck 81-51 and got a split decision victory.
The 2nd best of all time, against an Olympic Gold medalist and future 2 division champ.
It was more shocking to see that another human could actually compete with DJ for 25 minutes, than Johnson actually losing, if that makes sense.

When Usman started KO'ing people he shouldn't have that's when he became invincible. He looked elite in all aspects. A nightmare to wrestle or stand up with.
