In south Africa we have 2 groups of people/languages Nguni(Zulu, Xhosa, Swati, Ndebele) and Sotho(Sotho, Sepedi, Setswana) then we also have Tsonga & Venda so it's very easy for Tsonga to communicate with Nguni group and also Venda is very similar to Sotho that's why it's very easy for us to communicate with our languages then English or Afrikaans if you are speaking with other tribes in English from South Africa it's sounds like you wanna look like educated/Rich

The Dutch didn’t implement Afrikaans lol They implemented Dutch and then slaves and natives spoke broken Dutch mixed with their native languages. Afrikaans was for brown people, u couldn’t use it in Church , no Bible. The Quran was the first religious book translated into Afrikaans. Then Dutch people adopted it after the English colonized South Africa and banned them from speaking Dutch. Then Anglo Boer war, the Dutch took the Cape Colony back “Die Kaap is weer Hollands” term comes from. The majority of Afrikaans speakers are coloured people. Afrikaans has French, Portuguese, Malaysian-Indonesian, English, Dutch and Khoi languages mixed in. Our sentence construction some we got from the French settlers mostly fleeing religious persecution. Naartjie is an Asian fruit word. Gogga is Khoi. If u look deeper than the oppressive brand it got during apartheid you’ll realize it was the language of the enslave & only connection a lot of us have to our diverse heritage that’s complex.
