I fought two of the tree spirits and they dropped nothing, found the talisman and got annihilated by the third. Came back and they all respawned. Thanks fromsoft 🤙

Can also confirm that when you kill all three in one go nothing happens. I cheesed them all with a bow. Took all my poison, regular, fire, and a bunch of my holy arrows to do it, but I did it.
Fun fact: there are only 2 bosses that compliment your skill after you defeat them: Godfrey and Melania

It’s worth mentioning that this is the moment you need to complete the Goldmask and Brother Corhyn quest! You can find Brother nearby the first Ashen Capital site of Grace, talk to him and then reset the site of grace and find him again dead on the ground. Get his Bell bearing and armor set. Then you need to go to the area near the bridge with the Miranda flowers and find the dead body of Goldmask. This is how you get his Mending Rune of Perfect Order ending! Plus he drops his armor set (except for his mask). His mask is found in Atlus Plateau at the broken bridge, on a corpse on the south end of it. You can jump to the bridge via the rock formation nearby.
That must be a future quest video, but should have been noted in the video

Ah yes, before the tree burns I saw an item down this manhole that was impossible to get at. In the Ashen Capital you can finally reach it. Nice little foreshadowing

Dom something I'd love to see you do next is a sort of a "top missable FARMABLE armor sets" in each area. There are soooo many awesome armor sets that you have to farm enemies for, for rare drops of each piece of armor, but they are well worth it. I'm doing this now and it's amazing to get all the armor sets that you never see anybody using because most people don't know you can farm for them. You can then do a similar series of "top missable FARMABLE weapons" which is also a thing, for sure, to get awesome rare weapon drops. A few days ago I was farming the Blue Silver Mail armor set from the Albinauric Archers and got that completed. Then I farmed the Blackflame Monk armor set from the Blackflame Monks, followed by completing the Firemonk armor set from Firemonks. Then yesterday I farmed the Banished Knight armor set (which drops as Altered and not - the regular base version of the chest piece and helm - so you need to farm for both) from various Banished Knights in 3 different locations to get the full set including the altered versions with the weapons. That set is truly amazing and one of the best looking Knight armor sets in the game. Now this morning I've farmed the Fire Prelate armor set, which drops the chest piece as both Altered and not (the regular version, unaltered), so I had to farm in 2 different locations for both chest pieces. But it's amazing and so much fun to get these very rare, unique sets done! Same with weapons, for instance the Banished Knights drop their Greatsword and their Halberd. The Firemonks drop their Monk's Flamemace and Monk's Flameblade. Or there is the "bubble boys" aka the Envoy's which drop their Horn and their Long Horn. There is so much cool farmable stuff that people miss out on, you really should do a farmable series for each region. Showing how you can use the silver scarab talisman and the Silver Tear Mask and a rune arc with Godrick's Great Rune etc to raise your Focus/item discovery to the max to help out with it. It would be a fun series and I've not seen another series like it on youtube yet! x

There are so many quests that can be missed. Took me 4 playthroughs to complete them all (using a guide also)

This is my first real trip into a from software game and I'm not too proud to admit that I would've given up a long time ago without your videos. It's so hard and frustrating getting used to dying.... constantly. When I first started I was so worried about losing my runes that it made the game hard to enjoy.

At 6:55 I just smirked. I haven't finished the game yet but I'm already getting a little sad. Watching videos about this game is what pushed my decision to buy it and I haven't regretted it since. As the end is approaching I'm saddened that many of my jaw dropping, butt-clenching moments are coming to an end but I now understand why some players have 7+ play through under their belt. This is simply a beautiful game and it has made me a better player, forced me to think outside the box, realized each death is a learning experience and to re-appreciate the joy of being a solo player. I may not ever play another soul-borne game (besides bloodborne because I already bought it ages ago 😑) but your videos have helped me tremendously during my multiple 3 months break of playing. Never even thought about the lift area by the forbidden lands to return too and on the last run ending I haven't done. There's always something to learn with this game

Also Dom probably mentioned this in a previous video but don't forget when going back up the lift from the forbidden lands, there is a secret room you can jump off into that has a faith scaling dagger "The Blade of Calling". The Ash of War is pretty, but I'm not a big dagger guy myself.

When you go back up the lift from the forbidden lands there are 2 items of loot. Facing southwest on the lift youll be able to roll off onto a platform to get the first (officals attire) and open the door ahead to get the blade of calling. Very interesting looking dagger. Amazing how much can be missed in this game.

Dom you helped me so much with these things you may have missed, I was already at altus plateau without your help, but I started to find all the paths overwhelming, and since im a completionist, you helped me get everything from the altus plateau, the consecrated snowfield, the forge of the giants, mt gelmir, volcano manor, the haligtree and the brace of the haligtree, crumbling farum azula and Lyndel the capital of ash, truly one of my favorite games of all time thank you so much, now I will do some trolling and maniacal laughter to those poor albanurics on the side of the palace approach ledge, im sorry in advance albanurics, you have a lota money on ya lmao XD ;D 💀💀💀
White Mask, Lord of Blood Exultation + Rotten Winged Sword Insignia + Shard of Alexander + Millicent's Prosthesis or Fire Scorpion Charm. I prefer Fire Scorpion because it helps where bleed isn't as effective (Rivers and Mogh both fire) and it buffs the fire incantations that I use. I also run with Mohg's Spear and switch between with same build. VERY OP setup if you are heavy in arcane. I made the mistake of running this build through first playthrough and it makes it hard to try others it's just so powerful AND fun. You haven't live until you've murdered with fire and blood through a wall with Mohg's Spear. Good video mate.
I would love to see this series extend to all the souls games. Also I've loved the randomizer run, please continue it!

I video I bet we'd all love to see - how to get every NPC summons for various bossfights! I wasn't able to pull it off on my first playthrough, but it'd be cool to summon Nepheli and Shabriri for the fight against Godfrey, for example. I wonder how many "helping hands" you can get for all these boss encounters!

I did force myself to kill all three Putrid Tree Spirits. If I remember correctly they don't drop anything. Definitely not anything worthwhile anyway
The Lord of Blood and Rotten Winged talismans are great choices with Rivers of Blood. They'll increase attack power with the blood loss and repeated attacks.

I have just finished the game with bleeding mostly. As it was my first character, I made a lot of mistakes. Guys, don't neglect the HP in this game. 402 hours of play, I tried all possible quest lines, secret quests, secrets weapons and armor sets. Thanks for helping me far the best stuff in the best game ever.
Gonna miss these when your done,I've grown quite fond of these series's. Maybe you can do another epic game next
with your new River's of Blood build you should be running the Lord of Blood's Exultation talisman as well

Since you were wondering, I can confirm that fighting the Putrid Tree Spirit Trio is pointless. They don't drop anything of note and are brutal. I cheesed them as much as I could because between the long run and elevator ride needed to get back if you die, and the pointless rewards of besting them, I was not about to waste my time on bosses I have already killed dozens of times. Really folks, just haul ass to the talisman and leave.
About three putrid tree spirits near the Erdtree Talisman - I believe they drop golden seeds. At least I think the one I cheesed form the walkway above droppped it - fighting with this one drained almost my all mana flasks (Hybrid Str/faith build) and I just decided that rest are not worth it. Especially since I had maxed my flasks usage some time ago thus more golden seeds wouldn't make any difference.

I think it would be fun to see you do some sort of challenge run. Or even just like a.... role-play run. Like a paladin that uses sword and shield and lighting and holy spells. Or a pure wizard or just something like that. And have it be like a regular playthrough, like you do in your streams.

I am currently around 450 hours and ALMOST done with my first play through.
But I have had a lot of fun doing it and even at level 237 it is still challenging.
Like I said, maybe I am just slow/bad at this game!

Hi, Dom I love your videos they are so helpful. I was thinking about doing a respec for the rivers of blood katana, and I loved your build so I did the math and your raw stats (uninfluenced by talisman or great runes) put you at level 250 but don't the video shows you being at level 161, would you mind explaining that one for me because I am a little bit confused.
I'm late to the party, going through my first playthrough in 2024, and having a blast following your "top things you missed" series. I absolutely loved the way you described the Godfrey fight: just a good ol' fashioned brawl
HUGE discovery when youre going up the lift from forbidden lands to leyndell theres a secret spot to jump to get the Blade of Calling and Official's Attire dress

Great job Dom, but 1 top thing you missed, not far from the city of ash grace is a hole in the ground back down to the sewers, if you drop down carefully and survive, there's a special surprise waiting for you!

I followed it in my first run (and firt Souls game) and felt how I git gud during the game, needing the videos at the beginning FOR EVERYTHING and watching in the second part of the game just as reminder/proper things I missed, hahaha.
It has been a blast but I have to say that the ending is utterly disapponting. I unlocked the 5 possible endings (no frenzy) and the outro is just awful with only a phrase changing between them...
Didn't think the Rivers was OP LOL excellent video as always.
I think that the fight with the All-Spammer is *WAY* too fun, and of course hard, to pass on it by going for the insta kill. I beated him in the first or second try, and i had a lot of fun lol.
Now, i didnt have any idea that there was a place where i can fight 3 Putrid Tree Worms so... i must try.
Finally, i had to stop the video right before the killing blow to the Elden Beast, i have to finish my first playthrough before, so yeah im gonna come back to see what you picked for the end
You can cheese the tree spirits and the gargoyle with arrows from above. It takes a full quiver of both bolts and arrows to put them down but it's an option. Not worth it for the tree spirits, think they only kicked out
Currently on my 12th playthrough, 6 builds/characters beating new game plus. If I give it my all I can beat it in 3 or 4 days. That's doing all npc quests, tunnels, caves, catacombs, etc. I have done that for all 12 playthroughs so I'm getting a bit burnt out
Wearing a silver tear mask for anything besides farming is dumb. It lowers your AR, so the 8 arcane you get from it is offset and probably even has lower AR that not wearing it. Wear the hood you find in the carian study hall. It gives you 3 arcane without any drawbacks.

what about the isolated divine tower? you have to get back to the chest who telesport you to the top of the tower with the giant to get to the portal. i think it was malenia greatrune.

On an earlier play through I took down 2 tree spirits at the same time and murdered the 3rd, but new game plus I had my ass handed to me! Was fun going back and taking more than 1 down at the same time. They hurt tho
I did not know that at the end you can choose which ending you want. I just need to complete Millicent's questline and defeat Malenia to get the needle to get rid of the Frenzied Flame, but not before I save my save on a USB drive after I beat the Elden Beast. Now a question, can you still choose the basic, no questline done, ending amoung the ones you can potentially get? I'm just trying to figure out how I can get all three ending trophies in one single walkthrough.
The thing is with the rivers of blood you don't spec until dexterity higher expecting the arcane higher than dexterity with rivers of blood your main spec should be arcane 80 and then the rest is divided out
i must have missed half that map then as never saw most of that lol.beat radagon fairly easy once his aggro went onto the npc with the basket on his head and my summon took some too allowing me to watch :-) .i better go back and have another look around

for new content maybe try different builds in pvp, there's a few youtubers that do weapons and build showcase chase the bro and monk for example, sadly the game doesn't have ng+ excusive content like ds with the +1 and +2 rings behind ng+ & ng++
something that i would have loved from the game is boc questline, that he finnally could make a set for his lord, to develop the idea a little bit further he would ask you a few questions about preferences and depending on what you answer you could get one set of armor of many option and would be one per ng cycle

Whatching your video i've just discovered a thing that maybe you missed too (cause there is not in here).
When you are on the elevator in the forbidden lands there is a little room on the way up where you have to jump to get in. Here you find a dress called something like "Dress of the functionary" (dunno how it's called in english 'cause i'm playing in italian) and, most important, the sword of Melina wich has the unique ability called "golden blade"

Finally beat the game today. I almost beat Radagon and the beast first go….I got the beast down to seriously 1% health and I died from a random bolt of lightning…then 2 hours later happen, I finally did it.
I would really like a quest line guide for npcs. I somehow completely missed Alexander’s quest line
That trio of ulcerated tree spirits back there drops nothing more than a handful or runes. Not worth fighting them. I just used Crepus Vial and snuck past the one on the surface, grabbed the talisman (for completing all legendary ones) and got the frak out of there as fast as I could.
I mean this as a compliment...I keep falling asleep to your videos

In regards to the 3 fury puppies in the sand dunes…..Sadly wasted half an hour sniping them with Loretta’s Mastery and Tera Magica and wasted my life for a grand total of around 56k souls

The mimic tear helmet drops your attack power. I bet you'd get way more damage out of rivers of blood if you had a different helmet
Godfrey got slapped up when I used rivers of blood. I was specd for a bleed build but then as soon as I walked through the mist into elden beast I got slapped about the place.

I fought them just with Quality build L.150 not optimised, Tree Sentinel Armour set, Omen Cleaver +24, didn't use ash of war, killed 1st using 2 flasks, 2nd using 4 flasks and 3rd was almost dead when I got stunlocked and died. They only dropped 18k runes each.

No drop for 3 putrid three spirits but lots of yummy runes. Make the first two kill each other and only fight the third
Unless I missed it in a previous video you forgot the secret passage during the elevator ride up. That elevator is the one you took up from "The Forbidden Lands".
Also there is a Nights Calvary in "The Forbidden Lands" area. Just change the time of day.
I'll not spoil what's in there.
In your first section showing stats you are at level 161 and Talismans and the Silver Tear Mask adds 45 points making a total of 206 points but you have a total of 338 points in your stats. How do you do this? How do you get your Arcane and Dex so high at level 161?
You think corpse piler is op? Try it with the mimic and Mohgs rune.

I just finished the game and wanted to thank you Dom for this video series and a walkthrough for most of the game! It was my first souls game and glad I got to experience the large majority of it! 😄
Others may correct me on this; as I'm not an expert in different character builds for this game but based on other videos I've seen around the "Rivers of Blood" build, I think you may be better off using the "Lord of Blood's Exultation" talisman instead of the "Wing Sword Insignia" because it increases attack power when there is Bleed effects in the area.
I think you're spot on, I'll have to give it a go to squeeze out even more damage the next time I'm using it!!
Lord of bloods is only useful if you can bleed your opponents so the last two bosses it would not work with that set up
At the rate I'm going I might actually finish the game on each of my 4 characters by the time the DLC hits
