    My Babcia made it the same way. I like to slice it thinner and fry it crisp. I need to make some, we dug over 300 lbs of taters from our garden this year.

    My german gran made something similar only with grated potato, onion and sausage, salt and pepper with a little flower and egg. Then baked and it was called Gahakus, Yum

    Yes, please modern ways!!! YOU being Polish make them authentic... not showing us the old ways. Every polish recipe I have ever gotten seems way too complicated, so it would be great to have a resource of Polish recipes with ways that are quick and use modern equipment 😊

    Love this!! I'm 100% polska...my mom used to make everything. Try adding kasza manna (farina) instead of flour. Adds a little texture and yes, my mom did it. Love your channel ❤

    OMG and here it is!!! \o/ happy dancing. I have to spell these dishes phonetically because l have never seen the words written. so Bapka = Babka! At first l was very confused by the chocolate bread. hahaha! It is very much like potato pancakes on steroids + bacon heeheehee.

    This past Sunday I made your bigos recipe and it was so, so delicious!!!! We are still have a lot of it left over. My husband has been enjoying every bite and asked if we can have it again tonight!!! So, we are eating it again (3rd time straight) and I’m also going to make your potato babka to eat with it!!!!     I have my Bacia’s recipe. She made hers in a large casserole dish and served it with ham. It’s a very tasty recipe. I don’t know of any Polish person who doesn’t like Potatoes, do you?

    I can tell how delicious this is by hearing Mark's laughter. Love it. This is a must try for me. Especially since my last name ends in ski...😊❤️😆. Thank you so much for sharing your Polish heritage and recipes! Now for a creative question: do you think this recipe might work with sweet potatoes instead of yellow potatoes? Or would the sweet potatos be too dense? What about pumpkin instead of potatos? I am just thinking outside the box. I might have to do some experimenting. I appreciate your thoughts on these ideas. ❤️

    My wife's grandmother made a barley type bread called pirog. Sadly the recipe went with her. Are you familiar with it? Is it something that you could do in a video? Keep up the great work - we really enjoy your videos

      Luigi, baked piróg normally is a version of dough with filling, in the shape of a miniature "calzone". Was it made with barley filling or barley flour?

      We make a potato pie. Bread dough with a potato bacon onion and buckwheat filling. Roll out dough place filling and bring dough over and pinch to seal. Vent and bake. Amazingly good. Never had a written recipe

    What about making it a few days before Thanksgiving cutting it into cubes and letting it dry and then using it for stuffing? Do you think that would work?

      Potato Babka is pretty dense, so I'm not sure it would act the same as a bread based stuffing, but if you give it a try let me know how it worked! Thanks for watching!

    Moja babcia pochodzi z Brześcia nad Bugiem. Czy pani rodzina też pochodzi z tych okolic bo pani przepisy są identyczne jak robiła to moja babcia

      Moja rodzina pochodzi głównie z centralnej Polski, Łódź/Sieradz, i z północy. Codzienna kuchnia polska nie różni się aż tak bardzo, wiadomo, każdy region ma swoje specjały ale trzymamy się tych samych podstaw.
