  • In this video I install a spartan locker into a jeep cherokee XJ. I really like the function of lunchbox lockers. I have had an aussie locker in my TJ for a few years now. I went with the spartan for my XJ mostly because I just wanted to try it. Hope you like this video and find it helpful. Thanks for watching.

    Well done. Did u do the pumpkin paint work?? I like it. I was surprised you didn't run Locktite blue on the ring gear bolts. Will be following. I'm curently building an MJ with the Metric ton option Dana 44 TrakLok axel. Not sure if it's ratio yet. Dandahermit

      I did all the paintwork. It was definitely a budget job.

      Thank you and it actually comes in these stock. Mine did however start it’s life as a 2wd model and I swapped the whole drivetrain over from a donor.

      @@ProjectVenture yeah mine is low pinion and d35. Trying to figure out what route I wanna go. Would like high pinion front and ford 8.8 but I'm not gonna rock climbing so probably overkill lol

      It might be worth it long term depending on what your plans are down the road but I also know guys that drive like hell and never have a problem with their d35.

    so how how much did the kit cost and the name / part number ? also does the 8.25 in the rear of your jeep have sure grip or just a one wheel peel ?

    • @ProjectVenture
      @ProjectVenture  Před 2 lety +3

      There should be links in the description to everything used. My 8.25 is currently just an open diff, no sure grip. I plan on just doing a “lunchbox” locker in the rear as well.

      @@ProjectVenture O ok sorry about that . Also when driving with the locker in does it have any issues on curves or tight corners like tire tire hop or churping of the tires and so on ?

    • @ProjectVenture
      @ProjectVenture  Před 2 lety +3

      I’ll get a chirp from time to time in cement parking lots but not with normal driving. It will noticeably click while turning corners but that’s what it’s designed to do. Every once and a while someone will tell me it sounds like something’s wrong with it and I have to explain to them how it works.
