Spanish figure skater Javier Fernández López won the bronze medal at the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in PyeongChang, behind Japan's Hanyu Yuzuru and Uno Shoma. His bronze made Fernández the first ever figure skater to win an Olympic medal for Spain. In addition to his bronze medal, Fernández placed 14th at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver and 4th at the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi. We bring you all of Fernández's Olympic performances. If someone shows what the perseverance means, is Javier. The way he evolved on the ice, interpreted and kept the momentum implied an enormous sacrifice and a discipline to carry on. How much I cried because he achieved the olympic glory 😭
It was a pleasant surprise that Olympic Channel (finally!) actually put a video dedicated to Javi. More than gold or whatever color of the medal, Javier Fernandez is the embodiment of true sportsmanship, commitment, perseverance, bravery, and courage. He is a pioneer for Spanish figure skaters, and for other skaters who do not come from the big skating federations or have wealth/access to resources. I hope we get to see him back in the world of figure skating...as a coach, behind the boards, supporting his skaters, as Brian Orser and Tracy Wilson did for him and Yuzu.

He still is! He's coaching now and at last, finally has gotten his Academy up and running in Spain. Hopefully we get to see him and his students soon =D

So charming, talented, handsome, ….you see the level of artistry and technique was getting better and better during the years till he finally won an Olympic medal but also before this Olympics he won the world championships twice and a few European championships….he will always be remembered as one of the most versatile figure skater of all time…great job Javi!!!

Fun fact: three of the four Spanish Winter Olympic medalists are surnamed Fernandez and the fourth's surname is Hernandez: Javier Fernandez, the late sibling skiers Francisco Fernandez (Sapporo 1972) and Blanca Fernandez (Albertville 1992) and snowboarder Regino Hernandez (Pyeongchang 2018).

Finally, a video featuring all of Javier Fernandez' performances at the Olympics! He deserves all the love, not just Olympic gold medallists. Sportsmanship is important, and so is having the will and determination to keep the show moving on, and that is what Javier Fernandez is all about! The way he improved through 2010 to 2018 really shows that if you keep working at something, you will achieve great success. Thank you, Javier Fernandez! Good call, Olympic Channel, to feature this man, too. If you're going to do a past callback, why not do the Ponomarenkos, who earned all color of Olympic medals during their career? A more recent one is Carolina Kostner, who I think participated in the Olympics since 2006. Davis and White of the USA, I notice, don't yet have their own "All Olympic routines" just yet. It takes time to gather all the videos, though, just keep these choices in mind for your next round.

How is it possible Javier never won a gold medal in the Olympics? I love watching his routines over and over again. Sure there are a lot of mail skaters who have the technical ability that Javier has except his choreography and his speed and his ability to entertain us so much is beyond and above what anyone else can do. I really don't get it I could watch him forever 🥰👌
It's good to meet another fan =D However, I feel like Javi doesn't need an Olympic gold medal to prove he's one of the best, because everyone already knows he is, and gold was not really his goal. I remember somewhere in an interview that Javier just wanted to improve his skating. And this video shows his improvement throughout every Olympics he's been to. He's a 2x World champion and 7x European champion. This Olympic bronze of his is just the cherry on top of everything else. I do feel he should have gotten the Olympic silver medal instead, though I love Shoma, too. Yuzuru Hanyu deserved his two Olympic golds, and I'm glad that Javier got his Olympic medal before he retired. Here's hoping that a World/GPF/Euros/Olympic champion comes from his school in Spain!

His skating was so crystal clear improved at the 2018 Games. His posture, arms, lines, speed, his charisma and performances were the best of all of them. And that smile getting his medal... I mean... @Ira Ira How can you not love him. That Quad Salchow, had he landed it instead of doubling it might have moved him to first but definitely second but its okay.... He is beloved and I miss him!

Truly a complete package and everything male skating should look like👌 But above all a great human being, kind, gentle, good-hearted, friendly, great with kids 🥰 Talent, skill, hard work and perserverance all in one! Courage, strenght and sportsmanship! And a great performer 👏 And also a very attractive guy with a cute smile 😊 He and his family sacrified so much and it must have been so hard to go on withouth the backing of a big fed with big money. Or even withouth the support of the own government. Avay from ones home country for so long. Tuve la suerte de verle en vivo en uno de sus espectáculos. Un verdadero artista, deportista excepcional. Para mí, merecía ganar el oro en los juegos olímpico del 2018. Ahí había alcanzado la perfección. En el fondo él ya se sentía ganador, por eso tomó la sabia decisión de retirarse, ya estaba en la cima, vivía su mejor momento. Y al ser el patinaje un deporte tremendamente exigente a nivel físico, sabía que le costaría mucho mantener a lo largo de los años el nivel que había alcanzado. Tarde o temprano hubiera sido desbancado por algún patinador más joven. Javi quería irse y ser recordado como ganador. Y lo hizo.
