Watch them live, they are an amazing live band and don't judge them by this old video. They cover a huge variety of genres. Every video you've seen is very good to great, usually listeners always say the current song they listen to is their favorite . . . every time. Best rock band on the planet and the old hard core fans are getting stoked because they're finally getting good traction.
Nothing to judge, this is still a well executed song and while it's not as fast paced as their newer stuff it's still very technical.
Yeah, so I am glad I started with an older video, cause then I get to see them develop and grow. This will be fun! I'll give them as much attention as it takes!

Best rock band on the planet. They saved my love of rock n roll and music in general when I first heard them over 3 years ago. Never thought I'd find a band where I can listen to their songs over and over and if anything it just gets better. Saw them in Dallas last year and have tickets next month to catch them at Daytona and Atlanta.
I'm super glad a band does this for people. This band The Warning did that for me! I'm stoked to follow them for as long as it takes.
The Warning and Band Maid are big fans of each other, there are some fun clips of them meeting at Aftershock last year.
As such a Warning fan, you should listen to Warning by Band Maid (no relation to the other band, but it just seems appropriate at this point.)

BM are the real deal, these Rock Goddesses have spent a decade in the rock and roll trenches and they are a truly formidable outfit plus the members have a genuine sisterhood. this song is featured in the Netflix movie "Kate" about 30 mins in with BM onstage in an Osaka bar. "Blooming" is used about 5 mins in the same movie.

Totally recommend "Dice MV" and "Manners MV" if you wanna hear heavy bass...."Blooming MV" and "Warning MV" rocks hard....honestly you have almost 140 songs to check out that are bangers. They cross many genres across the rock/metal genre....and I would admit they are even more amazing live. I already have tickets for 2 of the May shows....

They are a great band. I'm a true blue TWA member, but these ladies are not far behind. I've got VIP tickets to see TW in ATL on 5/17 and then i go home to NashVegas to see Band Maid on 5/21. Gonna be a busy musical week for me. I am too stoked!!

I like The Warning too. But most of what I listen to now is Japanese. I prefer singing in a language I don't understand. Then my brain doesn't work at processing language and I just listen to the sound. It's better. Maybe it takes a little time to get to that point.

I ran across this band a little over a year ago and the more I watched and listened, the more I fell in love with this band. This band is what hard rock was always supposed to sound like. They call their maid costumes their "Fighting Clothes", their Battle Armor. Everyone in the band is a talented musician. They compose, arrange, and produce their own music, write their own lyrics, and they live to perform live shows. Read up on their history and you'll recognize that they one of the hardest working, hardest touring bands on the planet.
I suggest you react to their latest video: "Puzzle" from their Jan. 9th Tokyo Garden Theater performance. They've performed several arrangements of this song: electric, acoustic, hybrid acoustic/electric, and even as a duet of the vocalist with the lead guitar singing backup while she plays guitar. But this last version is a superbly recorded live performance that will blow you over like a hurricane.

Always hard to suggest where to go next after your first Band Maid song as they have a deep catalogue (roughly 120 songs) and it's full of variety. Rock from ballads right through to heavy rock bordering on metal, bluesy, jazzy, punky, acoustic, a bit of ska and their Alter Ego Band Maiko. They cover everything but it is always distinctly Band Maid. Domination live is generally next move but I'm also going to suggest the 2 fer Manners/Black Hole live which are 2 tracks off Unseen World and very different from Choose Me and each other. Enjoy the journey it is very rewarding.
I'm excited about this, and I have some on the list I think I want to try, but, they did just release a live video a couple days ago!! I have heard Domination a few times as well, so I think I have a good way ahead!! Thanks so much for the comment!

Bought my tickets and booked a flight to Houston for May 14th.
@@k3w1b3an5 Cool. That was the other show I'd considered. Bayou Music Center is almost 3500 seats which is roughly 1200 more than their fall Houston show at HOB. I guess they upgraded any shows in cities they previously sold out. Atlanta on the other hand will be a bit more intimate at 1400. Can't wait.
Next step has to be watching them live, because more than everything they're a LIVE band. And the classic introduction is "DOMINATION - live at Shibuya". You'll love them even more.

@@DaneBramageROCKS I got to see them live for the first time at Tokyo Garden Theater on January 9th this year. I have a ticket for Band-Maid at Zepp Shinjuku on July 3rd. I've never been so exited about a band before. I always wanted to visit Japan, but twice in a year WOW never see that one coming, then I found Band-Maid. I'm from Norway, and as long as they do not play in Europe this year, I figured I had to visit them in Japan 🙂

Glad you found them. I've been rock'n to Band Maid for years now. I'd suggest two songs. Another older one, Domination Official Live Video (be sure to choose the live one). And to see how the players have developed over the years, From Now On, their newest studio MV.

I look forward to whatever is next. This one was a single with *Daydreaming* (ballad) and *Play* (live version on their channel). They also _just_ released a very recent version of *Puzzle* from the 2017 album *Just Bring It* (video from the Tokyo Garden Theater last January). Other videos I suggest: *Dice* from *World Domination* (2018) and *Blooming* from *Conqueror* (2019). The 2021 album *Unseen World* is a force of nature, everything from it is excellent. Seriously.

BAND-MAID is the band that reminded me of the joy of music.
That is fantastic news! Glad to have discovered them.
Best band this (albeit short) century and I say that with full sincerity. They are easily one of the most diverse bands, more similar to Queen or the Beatles than something like Green Day. Any combination of hard rock, punk, metal and pop and they have at least one song that blends those genres together. The only way to be disappointed by a Band-Maid track is to expect to know what it will sound like, because there's a good chance it's a whole other genre.
A large chunk of their library, similar to this, is reminiscent of various late 90's/early 00's rock, metal, alt and punk songs but played at a technical level bands who played back in the day couldn't match. Choose Me is a perfect example: It's a catchy pop-rock song from early 00's radio, but unlike those radio hits, this song has an actual shredding solo. On top of that, the drummer Akane (awe-con-nay) isn't playing the simple drum pattern you would hear from the studio track of a radio hit; she's playing the YT drum cover where the drummer just goes all out crazy for four minutes over a typical radio hit. Their niche is memorable riffs and catchy hooks you can hum or sing along to but backed by world class instrumental talent that would normally be making music largely inaccessible, lacking that hook or melody everyone can latch onto.
Enough waxing poetic; you'll hear soon enough. Domination LIVE, not the MV, is a great example of their live presence, which for many tracks transforms the song much like Cheap Trick's I Want You To Want Me Live makes the studio track obsolete. You can also do Thrill MV, which was their first hit that saved the band from being split up by the label. You can also checkout the MV for Warning (Warning and Thrill official live videos are from their covid show, so no audience/no crowd energy 🙁). Or go with DICE MV, or Bubble, or Blooming, or Puzzle, or Don't You Tell Me. Or Daydreaming. Or Rinne/Reincarnation. The only way to go wrong is to expect to know what you're getting.

Welcome to BAND-MAID. I am not going to get specific about how old I was but the first hard rock album I got into was Van Halen's first album. I have been through BAND-MAID's entire CZcams catalog starting with Brand New Maid several times and still counting. They have given me reason to listen to music again. Enjoy.

IMO Dont get hung up on the lyrics. They are Japanese and there will always be the issue of "Lost In Translation". That said: They are phenomenal musicians and song writers. Band Maid cant really be described as a specific genre of rock. It ranges from Punk Rock to "Metalish". Pick any song. band Maid does not miss.

And Band Maid, particularly Kanami , the music writer and lead guitarist, and Miku, the backup vocalist and lyric writer, write amazingly catchy chorus'. Also Misa, who is not featured in this song, is the greatest bassist on the planet. Jimmy Page of Led Zeplin called Band Maid's Drummer Akane , "The reincarnation of John Bonham". These ladies are adorable. But dont let that fool you. They are incredible musicians.

And it's just going to get better!! This song is a great example of a relatively early song of theirs that has their signature rockin' sound that makes you grin from ear to ear yet somehow doesn't make you want to stick your finger down your throat. You'll see in your journey that they are ALL OVER THE PLACE stylistically. They can go WAY harder, and WAY softer, and WAY more complex - or so beautiful you'll be searching the room for someone peeling onions. They're TOP TIER musicians and honestly you haven't seen anything yet. That said, I'd take your time and start with another early song - but this time go with the LIVE version (usually the best - they're phenomenal live) - in a song called "Real Existence" (official live version). Then just starting moving forward in time to watch them grown exponentially from year to year as musicians until you get the mind bogglingly awesome current version which is - and this is not an exaggeration - the best hard rock band on the planet today. That includes male or female and with or without maid outfits 🙂. I'm going to Lollapalooza in Chicago literally just because they're playing, and it's near me. They're touring elsewhere too in May and again in August - try like hell to attend a show!
This is a great breakdown. I have been hearing a ton about their range in style and how they are not even close to being tied to one genre! I love Japanese metal. There is so much. For me it was Babymetal only at first. For several years. But now I love so much Japanese music not even just metal. I saw Band-Maid in Seattle in Oct.
I would recommend so many bands but maybe it's better to start with one? You should do Band-Maid 'Domination' Official Live next. Make sure it's the live video the MV has really low volume it's hard to even hear.
Baby Metal and I am very familiar with. I have been following them since the beginning, although, I have yet to check out their latest video with there new singer.

Please listen and react to anything by Band-Maid, you can't go wrong. You may want to listen to some of their recent songs. Band-Maid have come a long way as songwriters and players the 5 years since the release of "Choose Me". For their technical abilities you may react to "from now on", it's an instrumental piece where everyone shine bright. Other songs that are from recent albums: DICE, No God, Unleash, Rinne. You may also want to listen to the first song of their own creation, "Alone" from the album Brand New Maid. Band-Maid is very diverse when it comes to composing and playing styles, they play everything from hard and heavy to soft and jazzy stuff. One of their latest creations is a song called "Memorable" and is written as a love song to their fans, song was written during their late 2022 US tour. Have fun 🙂

@@DaneBramageROCKS Great choise. What I did when I first found them two years ago. I finally caved in and clicked on Thrill after YT had been showing it to me for the last 6 months. Thrill got me in, and I listened to all their MV's in sequence. Within a day I knew I've found a great band, and withing a week I knew I've found the best hardrock band of my lifetime 🙂

MISA MISA MISA!!!!! I hope You like Bass more than You showed on this re-action cos with one of the premier Bassists playing at the moment they DO NOT hide her in the back or remove her completely (looking at You Metalica).
I do, and I am sure when I hit the live videos, that will show. To be honest, I am a drumming fan, but Bass and Drumming go hand and hand. Literally the heartbeat of the band.

My interpretation of this song. They've been in a relationship for some time. She thinks it's now time to either take it to the next level of break it off. She also thinks that she's done everything she's willing to do to keep this thing alive and her partner now has to show that they are willing to commit. She's spelling out the conditions, metaphorically in the case of carving love on one's chest, that her partner must meet to prove their commitment to the relationship. Some of these conditions are a bit extreme "Become my prisoner ... No release".

Thanks for reacting to the greatest rock band in the world! Everyone will tell you to check out their live performances and I'll second that. Honestly though you can pick any of their songs and not be disappointed. I discovered these amazing ladies about a year and a half ago and have been obsessed ever since. I'm seeing them in concert for the second time at the end of May, and can't wait!

BAND-MAID has songs in several movies (This one is in the Netflix film "Kate") a fair few anime's and several TV series as well both in the Japanese and western theatre. They sell out gigs wherever they tour be it home or abroad, currently doing a lot of American festivals this year after Aftershock went so well.... sadly no European tours currently in the pipeline😪 But still hoping they do🤗

BAND-MAID song are relatively short and written to flow from verse to verse. By interrupting the song so often the listener can’t put it all together. Shut up when Kanami is speaking!
BTW- BAND-MAID fans are Maidiacs. Honest reactions to songs are expected but disrespecting the band is not part of a reaction and not tolerated by Maidiacs.
The response hasn't been too bad. At the same time, no need to just sit and watch a guy watch a video. Aside from that, some owners of the production don't allow a total re-record so it's wise to break it up every minute or less to avoid a copywrite violation.
