Since I stopped chin ups, touch wood I’ve had zero tendon pain or aching/shooting pain in forearms. My favourite is actually neutral grip. But, there’s not many places as readily available to do them. Strict pull ups and rows are doing the trick though. I always felt chins were unnatural and put my body in a disadvantageous position.
This helps explain why I’ve been having medial elbow tendinitis (Golfer’s Elbow) It’s worth mentioning I’m in the shorter side as well A combination of weighted chin-ups and “greasing the groove” with push-ups probably lent itself to this
I used to LOVE chinups (on a straight bar). But after getting pretty bad golfers elbow(80% certain it was from chins I'm pretty hesitant to re introduce them. Wish my gym had a neutral close grip..
Just buy rings, best thing you’ll ever do. Do all your pullups, chinups, dips with them. Easy to attach to any pullup bar. Amazing on joints & elbows 💪
Man i hear mario rios haters on that one lmao But man i thought short people/women (who have short arms specifcly) will feel it easier on chin ups since just a small bend and they at the bar, but yeah pull ups no problem
@a_guy_in_the_internet the Rios twins have yet to come after him calling himan idiot body builder & intentionally mispronouncing his name so he must be doing something right 😂😂

Natural? Meaning what?

Absolutely kills it in the “suboptimal for hypertrophy” part 😂😂
Killer video and good blasting of hypertrophy nerds
I laughed at that part
Let me guess, you’re small

I got golfers elbow doing chinups also. I'm 5'7".
I too developed golfers elbow that won't go away for over a year now. I'm 6'1 and have worked out pretty much my entire life.
Thanks to my overhead mobility, I don't have any problem with chin up
Content is always spot on but the clips are more entertaining and less stiff. Nice work
Strength training seminar in Toronto, Canada? Sign me up sir! 😉
My elbows hurt in every position except overhand or reverse curls. 😢
Maybe your supinator or Bicep tendon is over worked and injured
Went to neutral grip years ago. Highly recommend 👌
yup.. i'm one of those ppl that straight bar hurts. good vid.
Great video
Awesome knowledge as usual. Much appreciated Sir 💪

That "rings your friend... my friend!" was a hybrid calisthenics reference? 🤠
If I do straight bar and even ez bar curls for too long I get forearm splints, every time. If I rotate them with other exercises, I'm all good 💪
The instability of the rings is not an issue when doing pullups. Ypu are not balancing any weight above them.
i am short and chin up feels unnatural and painful after a few reps
to double strength, testosterone injections are recommended
Hmm. Wrong.

In order to start chinups on rings dont you have to be proficient on the chin up bar? Are negatives and assisted chins worth doing on rings?
No. Yes and yes.

@@a_guy_in_the_internet No I haven't seen them make any videos criticising his workout routine
I just curl my bro'S bench weight for convenience. Just do some chin up first
