I'm a vegetarian, so clicking on the video I thought "whatever I'll just check out the leg day" but I was wrong! I'll have to try the recipe as well as switching for a meso or 2 to zerchers, just for the fun of it. Great video as always eugene!
Pleasantly surprised. I'm not a vegetarian, but now I want to try tofu. 😅 it really looks good.
Yay! Thank you! 🙏
I‘m vegan and I had the same thought. Very plantbased protein is rare in the fitness industry ;)
I'll make an exception. You will be invited to the bbqs
Same thoughts here. I'm not vegan but I try to get plentyof plant based protein for health benefits. Lots of souos with lentils, peas, beans, and I've been throwing tofu into stir fries lately as an alternative to home canned fish. It's good stuff, cheap too.@@timovalentin5688
I started incorporating Zercher Squats because of you! The strength gains are evolving! Thank you!!
Amazing! Just this week I thought I dont think I can do barbell back squats anymore because of a lower back injury ... so today Day 1 of Zerchers! Thanks, Eugene and love the format. It's so calm and energizing at the same time! Keep up the awesome work!
Nice one!! Glad to hear it
@@stakuv86I love how it seems more realistic to real world muscular use demands.
I’m so glad you’re continuing this format.. keep it going please… great stuff!
Thank you for the support!
man not only do i enjoy your content, i also just enjoy you, if you made a 3hr video of you making a grilled cheese sandwitch and talking about training i´d watch it. sorry for bad english lol
Thank you! 🙏
Loving this format. I personally prefer the long-form style you have adopted in the recent videos. You are relaxed, calm, and content with the format too, so long may it continue. You are a role model to many.
Doing Zerchers rn as i don’t have a squat rack and it’s amazing. The burn I feel in my quads is insane. Please keep uploading these kinds of videos !
Love the new format!
For those interested. If you put the tofu on a plate with a couple paper towel sheets below and above, with another plate above, you can create a press to squeeze out more liquid. Don’t squeeze too hard though. 👨🏽🍳
Loving this format. Feels like a breath of fresh air. No drama, love the asmr vibe too. Just the sounds of pumping iron.
I love the screen shake, if there's a cameraman then please thank 'em, it's immersive
Loving the new vlog format!! More recipes please!!! Always great when Mom gives a recipe a thumbs up ❤👍
Love to see this type of content from you - keep going with these!
Jeez that's heavy for zerchers. I find 90 to be extremely hard & you're out there hitting 115 & looking normal after. Much respect..
Love the energy! Keep doing what your doing!
I lived with a Chinese family for a while and to make sure we got the water out we would wrap the block in paper towels and weigh it down with a plate. And repeat this another time or two while we prepped the other ingredients.
Never thought about the freezing method. Interesting!
Teo, thanks to your short that came up on my feed I just realised I've been doing the zercher squat for the last 6 months while carrying my beloved old and sick dog down and up the 3rd floor. Today I incorporated the zercher squat in my gym routine with the hopes it'll make me stronger in that position for my dog and for myself as well. Great vid as always!
Keep this uuuup!!! And do more eating stuff. The aesthetics are on another level!
This was a nice vlog! I like this format. It's nice to watch while I get ready in the morning
Started with Zercher a few weeks ago because I saw it on your Instagram. Every legday I start with them. Starting with 100kg just holding it and then starting my working sets with 75kg, 3x5. Sometimes adding a few sets more if I feel like it :D.
I love it, full body activation!
Gonna try both of these!
Really enjoying these videos Eugene
Glad to hear it
This is sick! Love the difference in content, the variety is nice and you’ve done a great job with the production aesthetic!
Thank you very much!
The deadlift advice is choice! I just did mine this morning and hardly felt the low back. Loaded the hams perfectly. Thanks
Great to hear!
Tofu in soya sauce and nutritional yeast ( instead of corn starch). added nutrients aswell B12, Iron, Folate it high protein aswell. etc. is divine super crispy and tasted insane!!! vegan 15 years tried this it is the bomb
Great video! Definitely gonna try that cue tomorrow with my rdls 💪🏽
ET!! I’ve been waiting for you to post this 🙏🏼👏🏻
😄
Thank you for the recipe! That deserves a like and a subscribe.
Great content Eugene!
Really enjoying your vids!
Thank you! 🙏
One of my favourite exercises, my go to for my athletes, to develop full body strength, especially with lots of shoulder injuries. Also a vegetarian, so loving the food
Favourite trainer on this platform
Thank you! 🙏
Your last vlog just came into my feed and your content has really amazed me brother 💯 . So calming - no bs - it just hits different.
Loved it and yeah I am your new subscriber 💯🫶🏻.
Your content is 💜. Thanks Eugene ☝🏻🫶🏻💯
Welcome aboard!
Great stuff .. can’t wait to make these for my family .. really digging this style of content!
Hope y'all enjoy them!
Beautiful bass btw
Your back is insane!!! I know it’s a video about legs but good gah!
Thanks for inspiration in this video man, gotta try it for sure!!
That jumping was very cute tbh.
Haha thank you
Zercher has become my favorite squat variation.
The physique journey is one thing, but the hair journey is another, and IMO this is the best Eugene haircut yet.... very evocative of 1980s movie stars
Love the new content :)
Thank you! 🙏 glad to hear it
This was fun, thanks for all the tips. I'm trying that recipe too
Hope you enjoy
Great recipe. I added it to collard greens and lentils.
Love this new format Eugene - also interesting to see your leg extension set-up follows the latest research (hips extended).
I'd really like to do leg extensions but my right knee cap refuses to cooperate 😁.
I really like this type of content, it's interesting because it's not only hypertrophy but health and functional training too.
Thank you! 🙏
Your mom is the sweetest. I'm skeptical to try tofu again because i can never get the texture right but ill have to try this!
Good luck!!
That back definition when you were showing the Zercher squats 😮
Great tip to save lower back by using a snatch grip during deadlifts!
I've been enjoying front squats so much recently
Back squats are great but the load on the spine is something to take into account, and variants with less load on the spine feel so much better on recovery for the low back
Bro I bought your straps and your ankle thingies lol really great quality! Love that we use the same wrist straps now :D
Glad you like them!
Many people classified this exercise as "stupid"
As you said ,they say why not just do a regular bb squat or a machine squat.
If they only knew how amazing it feels and the benefits it has.
Greetings From Texas Mr. Teo.
PR's let's gooooo!
I tried Zercher for the first time yesterday. Movement felt very natural. Back felt great. It is, as you said, much more similar a movement with what I do daily at work.
Hyped to do it more and see where it leads.
Nice one
I love that squat
I started doing zercher squats last week after seeing your video, and also because it is Grizzly approved. And they are AWESOME. I did working sets with just 80 kg and was trembling like crazy while doing it. Love your content btw man.
That is awesome!
Eugene, do what you love and continue with that, always.
PS: I’d love to meet you some day. I’m currently situated on the gold coast.
Great video as always, a joy to watch. Looking at incorporating zercher squats into my routine due to shoulder and wrist injuries (thanks BJJ). I was surprised to see you exhaling in the bottom position of your z squat - are you still able to cue good stability? I find trunk stability feels really tied to my breathing so interested to hear your thoughts. Apols if you have already covered.
I love Zercher squats. Such a good back movement. My biggest problem with them is that I've had a hard time not hitting my arms on my legs and limiting depth.
17:46 Awwww such a sweet moment 🥰🥰🥰
dude i love zerchers, they feel brutal and super strong - also weirdly good on my lower back, which is always really nice.
Yes!!
What kind of pants are those, mate? They seem to do a bang on job of withstanding some stress
the little beep of the Ganbaru workbuddy
them tofu chunks look tasty af
Happy PR 🎉🐧🎉 5:00
Eugene vlog enjoyer checking in
Have you thought about extending your knees forward a bit more off the pad during the leg extension to allow for more knee flexion and a deeper stretch on the quads? Hard to tell exactly from the angle shown, but it seems like you were getting only to about 90° of knee flexion and wouldn't it be better to get more ROM through the knees?
Yeah it'd be worthwhile adding some padding to the ankle pad to get more ROM
So true!!! Once the compounds are done, I'm like, "whew" now its all the easy stuff from here on out! (sort of). Thanks again, this is really enjoyable stuff. It's nice to get a feel for someone's personality slightly outside of the gym just to be sure they're not an *sshole, and clearly you are not. Keep it comin'!
Thank you! 🙏 much appreciated
This is random but ur kitchen is really nice
Thanks!
Like neo... Don't try to bend the spoon, you are really bending yourself 🙏🏼👌🏼 great tip man thanks
Is there any video of yours or anyone else that you would recommend to explain proper setup and technique for the zercher squat?
Eugene plays bass ?!? my hero
🤝
Would the wide grip on the stiff deadlifts be a better option for a shorter person too? I am only 5'6" so just wondering if would help the movement of the bar with the stiff leg deadlifts or would it be just down to someones body make up as to what feels better?
Want to try work in some zercher squats into my program, like the carry over to more everyday lifting position then a back squat.
And when Mom came in, wholesome❤
😄😄
Zercher squats are much easier than front squats if you can stand the discomfort.
Agreed
Do you have suggestions on the bar position etc. against the discomfort
Are there any substitutions for exercise 3?
hey Mr. Eugene. I just recovered from a herniated disc L5/S1, would you reccommend light Zerchers or is it a bad squat variation for recovery? I feel like it has potential, because it puts less pressure on the spine as a front or backsquat, but I'm no expert obviously...
It's fantastic for many returning to squats
What would be a benefit of the zercher squat compared to a backsquat or even front squat?
They seem very interesting yet as an asmwrestler/ grippsports athlete I am afraid to hurt my elbows/ forearms.
Any feedback would be great😊
I give an explanation on that specific question in the video!
@@coacheugeneteo Alright, thanks must have skipped that part👍
I like Zercher Squats, but have been having difficulty getting my hips as low as you do. I'm 6' 3" so maybe that has something to do with it. Anyway it's a goal for me to work toward. Thank you!
Tall guy here. My arms jam into my legs stopping me from going low.
How do you drop the bar if you get stuck in Zercher?
Was that an epic mum cameo at the end?
😄😄
Ever record any music? I see all that gear back there.
On the rare occasion. But I prefer just playing
Flats or squat shoes for zerchers?
I tried to do Zercher's and after putting a bit of load on, I instantly felt a sharp nerve shooting pain go down my forearms to my hands.. Is that normal ? Do you just "power through it"?
What pants are lifting in?
As a newly pescatarian for a couple of years, I'm trying this tofu recipe. Maybe after trying it I can graduate to becoming vegetarian.
Maybe an odd question but have you ever talked about your gym attire 😅?
6:10 er OK...
It's not optimal, it's necessary
Great video. Love the content. Not for not but it looks like your wearing actual pants - not joggers - in the gym. I hate / don't wear joggers in the gym but feel I would wear what you are wearing in this video. Checked your merch site but did not see pants only joggers.
while you were lifting, I couldn't keep my eyes off the fit. What kind of pants and shoes were you wearing in this video so I can pick up a pair
Do you track calories
Not closely anymore
I’m not going to lie I genuinely didn’t expect a response 😂😂 I wouldn’t have been so blunt with the question otherwise 😂😂
Thank you for great content and taking the time to respond 😁
On my diet app it says tofu only has 6.6grams of protein from 100g. How is this possible? Pure ignorant question, don't judge 😅
Why are you doing so few reps?
Strength focus
sao cắt tóc đấy anh
Is it cheating if I put knee sleeves on my elbows for zerchers? 😂
Algorithm
You ever plan to rock that amazing long hair again?
The voice to music ratio during your intro s a bit too much in favor of the music. I can barely understand what you're saying (mind you I am no9t a native English speaker)
Noted!
Lost me at Tofu.
If you eat tofu you’re a npc deeply integrated into the matrix.
If you call someone an npc for any reason at all, you're a loser irl who needs to grow up.
Really depends on why you eat it. If you are creating division you are part of the problem.
tofu is good though? Also, using the term npc unironically to describe someone, jeez, someone's got a main character complex real bad.
Terrible breathing on the Zercher squats.
You had me at high protein but lost me at tofu 🤮
Vegans "enjoying" vegan food while trying to make it as meatlike as they can
what is this meant to imply?
@@thejadedjester4935 that if vegan options were so good and "tasty" they wouldn't have to jump through hoops to mimic meat
@@leonardo9259 I can't really see the attempts to mimic meat to be honest. Yes, he compared it to meat (to try and encourage people who mainly eat meat to try it I think). But he just cooked tofu and had some seasoning. Tofu is good.
He's not Vegan.
