Guess what?! I was playing with card stock and wanted some foiled doodles. I was about to look for some doodle files to use on my experiment. I got lazy. I pulled out a scrap sheet of paper and a scrap piece of foil. I laid the foil on the scrap paper and picked up my heated foil quill and started doodling on the foil by hand. I colored in the hearts etc and guess what? It worked. The quill does get warm to touch, but the tip is so far away from where you hold it, you would never get burnt. This is a good way to use up those scrap pieces of foil. Just sharing.

It works great in vinyl!!!! I used it on my tumbler for yoga class!!!! It looks amazing
Wow, this came out beautiful!! I like that you don't need to have a laser printer or send your designs and have them printed on laser in order to use foil! Fantastic!

I love your tutorials for new products and it shows you are concerned about our experience with the product. I would like small packages, it would be easy for storage.
Im Very excited for this, the vinyl roll (for SNC), and the embossing set. I had mentioned to my husband, selli g one of my cricuts, he sais, "no, set up one for fabric, one for foiling, and use the brother for other stuff"... he's SO Supportive... (I like the idea of adding a "splice" on the SNC to use a USB cable)

Maymay. Thanks for the tutorial. I have the silhouette and have played with it. You can use any foil like the We R Foil. Therefore Gemini FoilPress, spellbinders glimmer etc. You cannot use Minc or deco foils in it.
I got mine from hsn so no one had the foils. I had a glimmer foil and had no problems with it. I do vote for the big rolls but like the option of the smaller as well.

Thank You for this video! I bought mine today at Jo-Ann’s. I purchased the three pack with all the tips. Consider that the three pack is a starter kit. It includes a full roll of placement tape, and three rolls of foil, in silver, gold and rose gold. 6”x? .. I did not unroll it yet. Also, the foil sheets, in the flat package contain 30 pieces. I can’t wait to try this tomorrow. Your video is excellent, and having watched it first, I have no fear about reading the instructions! I also purchased 5 big rolls of the colored foil. They are gorgeous. The only thing is that Jo-Ann’s does not apply any coupons for the foil quill, because it’s an accessory for electronic cutting machines. Okay. But the foil and placement tape are included in that limitation. No coupons. This makes no sense because the foil is a material used by the accessory. Anyway... I am thrilled that You introduced me to this tool.
Thank you for this video. I haven't played with mine yet, haven't had a project and didn't want to waste the little bit of foil I have, so this helped tremendously. Now I know when I do get to use it, I will know how.. heh I do need to make a birthday card, so maybe I will use the foil quill to put the name on the envelope. I think that would be nice. I love this video share! You do such a good job of explaining and I love that you didn't fast forward anything. The design is so stinkin' cute!!!! I think Mandi (y) should join you in a video about making/foiling stamps (or make the vid herself if she does videos). I would love to see how she makes her planner elements and adds foil to them. Keep the "waste" foil for using to make small marks and doodles by hand. You could also use a tiny iron (think seam press) to add grunge to your projects.

I understand carrying the separate size tools but I think I’d like the complete set because there may be some designs that I would need the smaller tip for and some I’d want a bolder tip for. Thanks for doing the demo. I know I can trust you to give an honest opinion and I’ve been wondering about this particular tool.
you have to use a heat foil for it to work.. a regular foil that not for heat, was said it wouldn't work.. love it, GREAT video..
PS, I would have never thought to cut the design out like you did with the foiling! You are brilliant!

Thanks MayMay, as you have mentioned there are a lot of great videos using silhouette but no much with Cricut. This is a great accessory for our cutting machine. You did a great job explaining how to use it from scratch. I saw a video on CZcams where the person showed how to fill it out the image but I couldn’t find the the same feature in design space, the silhouette software has more options than design space but I was wondering if WRMK can tell you if there is a way that the foil quill no only outline the letters and images but fille them using Cricut or brother scan n cut. 🤨🤷🏼♀️ thanks 🌷🌷🌷🌷🌷

you can definitelyvpbc3 use other foils with this, but you HAVE to make sure it's HEAT REACTIVE foil. Deco foil and Minc foil won't work because they're adhesive foils, so Glimmer foil will work and any of those foils that are meant for the hot foil plates used in die cut machines like Sizzix and Gemini.

So I can just purchase the one instead of the 3 piece quill set that is by the way sold out everywhere.... and they say this can be used on vinyl which I prefer to work with I will use the card stock as well

It works amazingly well even on clear sticker pape!
When I saw this at Creativation I thought it was crap. But watching you do it I think it might have to come home with me. May May I want to say I love the way you teach how to use the machine. Wish I would have joined the classes you listed a month or so ago. You’re a great teacher. Don’t use my cricut because never learned how to us it.
Crucibelle I took a class and spent a lot of money on it. The lady taught us nothing. She was more interested in one of the lady who also attended had a boyfriend was a graphic designer. Talked to her threw most of the class. I was disappointed. I used it with cartridges all the time. But design space has me confused. When I call Cricut help they just want me to read about it or watch video. I will watch some day.
Just Judy Crafting Definitely Definitely take Maymay’s classes! Orr join Melody Lane’s group or Tanner Bell’s Makers Gonna Learn group. All 3 of these are excellent teachers and friends of Maymay. Tanner has a customer service group that is extremely helpful. I’m not sure what type of customer help Melody has.

Lorrie A Nunemaker also has AMAZING Cricut CZcams tutorials just like May May does. I highly recommend looking both of their videos up to learn the Cricut. I know Lorrie has beginner videos everything from set-up to simple crafts all the way up to very complex crafts. Between Lorrie and MayMay you will be able to learn anything and everything!
I really love this... and, i Just started playing with Pearl-Ex... i can just See Pearl-Ex as paint inside foiled images...
I order pretty sporadically... but, i order for "value" ... my vote would be better value, but, maybe the small sheets to "sample" ... just my 2 cents... tyfs! Love the images.

I'm sure you know this by now but...You can fill in with the foil quill, it just takes longer. I just got mine and I've been watching videos first, as I usually do, prior to putting something new to test. I'll be using my Brother Scan-n-cut.
