    The coolest thing about this is how the concept of mixed martial arts has already been understood before at different points in history. Combining Muay Thai with wrestling, boxing, judo, jujitsu, I mean, what's new right. Makes you wonder, too, how advanced fighting systems might have gotten in times of pre-firearm warfare that have been forgotten, for example when Chinese martial arts actually had practical application and field testing.

    I found similar lines of development in Western Boxing, once it became a spectator sport/past time, things were dropped. Boxers used to cross train in single stick and allow the cross buttock and heel throws. Thigngs like kicks were dropped because matches were conducted in grassy fields where they wore spiked shoes.

Old art lost in time due to the rise of firearm, but now modern combat sport rise in popularity again, plus we could easily share data and compare. We could revive back a more complete system of old arts. Not only that, safer training equipment and better medical treatment allow us to be able to held contest that simulate closer to a real fight scenario without risking permanent injury for fighters.

      @@GaawutProductions I have to tell you something, about an unknown martial art. Resides in North East of India. Near Myanmar border. We have the similar system of fighting. Before watching this video I thought Thai martial arts are different from us. Now I am blown away by the facts. Our fighting system and Thai fighting system are same. Ours is called "junj" which means fighting skill. We have "Mal junj" means wrestling, "Bahu junj" means striking, "Lathi junj" stick fighting, "Daa junj" means sword fighting "Mit junj" means knife fighting . And it goes on and on.

      @@43sh240 Martial arts are often similar to each other in the neighboring states, moreover when they are practiced with the aim of being effective and practical in real clashes, identical solutions are often achieved; for example, the European Martial Arts of 1400-1500 C.E. have lots of techniques similar to Japanese Jujitsu despite never being in contact with it at the time. I believe in this case it's a matter of it being linked with other martial arts from India and SEA more than a coincidence.
      I would like to see some applications of this martial art, very interesting.

    • @43sh240

      @@GaawutProductions I believe it too cause ethnically we are same. Shan people have migrated to this region from ancient times ,we had trade and political relationships, one branch of the silk route went through our land. One more interesting fact is that DNA migration shows that whole of the SE Asia and Austronesian islands and Polynesia was populated through this route. Now Indonesian and Filipino tribes are making contact with our tribes cause everything between us is same,not only martial arts. I have Maljuj (wrestling )video in my channel but it is of demonstration. Double handed mit swing is there but it is not for the practical use, original techniques are not good for the eyes but effective.

    • @GaawutProductions
      @GaawutProductions  Před 3 měsíci

      The stance and guard are the best neutral positions from which you can initiate your defensive and offensive action, so which one you should use depends on how you fight, who you are fighting, and under which rule set.
      Use the stance of Muay Nam which is a compromise, keep the rear hand near the chin, and the lead hand slightly more extended and lower than the rear, with the fist pointing against the opponent's chin.
      Keep in mind that while the stance is generally the same, you can alternate various guards according to the situation.
