The coolest thing about this is how the concept of mixed martial arts has already been understood before at different points in history. Combining Muay Thai with wrestling, boxing, judo, jujitsu, I mean, what's new right. Makes you wonder, too, how advanced fighting systems might have gotten in times of pre-firearm warfare that have been forgotten, for example when Chinese martial arts actually had practical application and field testing.
Exactly, would love to see how they actually fought. I also wanna see how ancient Hunter gatherers would fight with their bare hands
@@ancientdarkness3102 bear hands back then probably
@@zzzzzz69fr i mean i probably idolize Hunter gatherers too much but im pretty sure they were super athletic, explosive and coordinated with their movement. also hard skin and bones and good reflexes

I've been looking for this for days, ive never found actual muay boran wrestling and i finally have found it.
Go to Haryana India
Join a Gurukul for hanuman wrestling/kushti/malla yuddh

From India,exactly.
I like that the watermark isnt too intrusive but it's very good to protect your intellectual property.
Proof that no one person was the father of mixed fighting arts.
Nothing new under the sun.
In Golden age of Modern Muay Thai : Kick Boxing vs Muay Thai. this topic is using till today to promote nationalism.
But I never know that we, the Thail people already held match between Muay and Ju jitsu long before that!
Thank a lot!
Please post this every year, I wish Thailand brings back the oldest fighting style .
Some small group of people still practices Muay Boran and Karbi-karbong here in Thailand.
Tony Jaa represents how to break the enemy’s bones, arms, legs, and neck in Tom Yum Gung movie. Those are use for killing that is why it lost in the culture. Thailand don’t have war for long time so there is no need to train those anymore.
I found similar lines of development in Western Boxing, once it became a spectator sport/past time, things were dropped. Boxers used to cross train in single stick and allow the cross buttock and heel throws. Thigngs like kicks were dropped because matches were conducted in grassy fields where they wore spiked shoes.
Can please you share some video links of boxing history
@@soumikdey7305There's a CZcams channel called English Martial Arts that has numerous well-researched and informative videos about the history of boxing and wrestling, look it up, it's quite interesting.
Very interesting. There's several accounts of mixed rules bouts in the early 20th century, but these fights from Southeast Asia are 100% news to me. Thank you for this.
It might be worth noting that the Sanskrit word for combat wrestling, malla-yuddha, came into Thai as malayuth. In India, this referred to full-contact wrestling with strikes, as opposed to other forms of wrestling which end when one lifts the other above the ground for a few seconds
kalaripayattu from south india have influenced chinese and thai martial arts
Export hanuman wrestling to SIAM
Import hanuman boxing from SIAM to Bharat
Dtoi muay.. finally i found the origin of the word "tomoi"..malaysian especially in the north call muay thai as tomoi..i find it interesting,i tot they call thai muay then became tomoi..
Very cool... I definitely agree with the idea of mixing grappling with Muay Thai.
It's sad..many things are lost:(
even though muay boran is not very well known, it cn be a beautiful and effective martial art
Yes, we Thai have MuayThai and also the Thai Wrestling and also MuayBoran(ancient Muaythai) that's mix between Muaythai and Thai Wrestling together but as Muaythai is a Thai Culture so we Banned a lot of deadly moves out of the art because it's too dangerous for children and nowadays it's only called Muaythai(sport).
Wrestling it's too old and still work in modern fights that's amazing.
ขอบคุณ ที่ทำเรื่องนี้ เป็นอีกเทคนิคของมวยไทย แช้วมันก้หายไปจริง
I like your videos I do old school karate and it also has grappling and takedowns and I also do boxing and judo and Japanese jiujitsu
Thank you for your work!
Bro you should make a archive just in case your channel gets deleted or your gone, your martial arts knowledge is amazing, there was a youtuber called JKD Tyson he had amazing knowledge on the peekaboo style of boxing but his channel got deleted by someone and he didn’t archive his videos and all that knowledge was gone im saying just incase
The Indo Europeans of bronze age spread Martial Arts and thats how it became what it is, with different forms around the world
In Birmanie ( Pama) the westle is a national sport.
Interesting channel pure information
This gives me hope, could we say we in an era of the Martial Art Renaissance. Old art lost in time due to the rise of firearm, but now modern combat sport rise in popularity again, plus we could easily share data and compare. We could revive back a more complete system of old arts. Not only that, safer training equipment and better medical treatment allow us to be able to held contest that simulate closer to a real fight scenario without risking permanent injury for fighters.
This is great
You did a great job man.. It is priceless
Thank you!
@@GaawutProductions I have to tell you something, about an unknown martial art. Resides in North East of India. Near Myanmar border. We have the similar system of fighting. Before watching this video I thought Thai martial arts are different from us. Now I am blown away by the facts. Our fighting system and Thai fighting system are same. Ours is called "junj" which means fighting skill. We have "Mal junj" means wrestling, "Bahu junj" means striking, "Lathi junj" stick fighting, "Daa junj" means sword fighting "Mit junj" means knife fighting . And it goes on and on.
@@43sh240 Martial arts are often similar to each other in the neighboring states, moreover when they are practiced with the aim of being effective and practical in real clashes, identical solutions are often achieved; for example, the European Martial Arts of 1400-1500 C.E. have lots of techniques similar to Japanese Jujitsu despite never being in contact with it at the time. I believe in this case it's a matter of it being linked with other martial arts from India and SEA more than a coincidence.
I would like to see some applications of this martial art, very interesting.
@@GaawutProductions I believe it too cause ethnically we are same. Shan people have migrated to this region from ancient times ,we had trade and political relationships, one branch of the silk route went through our land. One more interesting fact is that DNA migration shows that whole of the SE Asia and Austronesian islands and Polynesia was populated through this route. Now Indonesian and Filipino tribes are making contact with our tribes cause everything between us is same, not only martial arts. I have Maljuj (wrestling )video in my channel but it is of demonstration. Double handed mit swing is there but it is not for the practical use, original techniques are not good for the eyes but effective.
Awersome master. So, will you add ground combat for Muay Nam?
Not really, there are only escapes to get up as soon as possible, and few submissions on the ground
The clinch move the plum…is the plam?? Same same??
This question is about muay korat, the stance protects the torso but head isn’t protected and I don’t know if I should use muay korat’s stance or if I should protect the head, what should I do?
The stance and guard are the best neutral positions from which you can initiate your defensive and offensive action, so which one you should use depends on how you fight, who you are fighting, and under which rule set.
Use the stance of Muay Nam which is a compromise, keep the rear hand near the chin, and the lead hand slightly more extended and lower than the rear, with the fist pointing against the opponent's chin.
Keep in mind that while the stance is generally the same, you can alternate various guards according to the situation.

We must develop a new equipment for Muaythai Boran that will protect the joint from breaking by having a substitute chalk bar which will break with sufficient force instead of real bone and count it as a point when competitor can break them.

I'm not sure. I've translated "Baeprien Muay Thai" and there is the entire manuscript and the explanations of the techniques in it. You can find it on Amazon.

When humans left Africa and migrated and populated the world, They already had a complete wrestling, when we look at the Siamese (which mean dark brown ppl) we still see African feature. (@ 0:39-40 ) -The Tai's are not the ancestors of the Siamese. Siam, means dark people, the first people of the country now called Thailand who migrated from Africa. Descendants of the first people still live in the South of Thailand.
Peace
The Thais are also a Tai ethnic group dominant in Central and Southern Thailand.
Obviously the topic is much more complex and larger, if anyone is interested they should research further. I couldn't insert a more in depth explanation in the video.
Wrong. You drank the wrong Kool Aid, comrade.
wtf you are ruining the content w the watermark.
I understand that it might be a little annoying, I've used it because people are stealing my videos and re-uploading them without giving credit. I'm happy my content is shared or reused, but copying the entire video without credit it's too much since it took me years to gather information and a lot of time was used to edit etc.
I've made the watermark the smallest and as transparent as possible. I don't know if I will keep using it though, I appreciate your feedback.
Ive unsubscried. Please elt me know if you stop using it. Sorry about your trouble, if theyre on ututbe or other you shoud be able to report them for copyright infr., maybe? If they reshare the whole video you _could_ watermark it for a little while or it towards teh end, as due credits :)? "This video was created by xx) - and not in the middle of teh content.
