I have heard stories of people taking turkeys out to 70 yards with this shotgun and TSS shells. Can’t say I believe that. I wouldn’t shot at one beyond 40 yards. Thanks for sharing another great video. Keep up the good work.
I'm with you on that. Until I got to looking into it. I'm starting to think that it is not just possible but likely. It still doesn't seem right. Modern technology I suppose.
From the videos I’ve seen the 301 will shoot most Turkey loads well. I’ve even seen videos of shooting slugs beyond 100yds . I believe they used an IC choke tube. Still looking for a Thunderchicken with mine.
We’ve been tinkering with these for a few years now. The Patternmaster Code Black Turkey choke with Browning TSS #9’s is absolutely devastating out to at least 40 yds. I’d love to see your experiments with this gun in the future! Hunts too!!! Claiborne County, TN
brotha adam, great great vid , i did not know you could hunt turkey with a scope , my brotha always had a old mossberg 12 gauge shotgun that blew your arm off , lol, lol, , great stuff bruddaman , you keep em coming , talk soon . tom !
I hate that I lost it and my second gun which was a Remington 1100 he bought also my first gun that I bought a Remington 700 in .270, to a house fire a few years ago
Hey WHO-TEE Big fan of your videos ! I have noticed a small blemish on the tip of your nose. I had one that looked similar and it turned out to be skin cancer. I just had the surgery and all is well. You might want to have it checked ! Thanks for your videos !
WTW My first ever shot that i was not expecting was with my Henry 17 HMR. Had a scope close to the hammer like you have. Gun loaded ready to fire I wanted to decock it by letting the hammer down. My thumb hit my scope thumb slipped hammer fall just a very short distance, but it was enough!! the gun fired. To fix the problem I put a hammer extender on the hammer coming out the side. now i can let my hammer down easy all the way, and pull my hammer back when i am ready to fire. Is your 410 the same with your scope so close to the hammer?
I would say yes, but chokes (and wind, to some degree) sometimes have strange affects on pellets that would cause that little black rain cloud to move differently than a slug.
Hey Hoot, is the Steven’s 301 able to also shoot slugs? First removing the full choke of course. I don’t see why it can’t or wouldn’t but I’m just curious if you had any plans on shooting some slugs as well? I’d like to see how accurate it is at say 30-50 yards with a slug.
I'd like to see what it does at 35-45 yards just on paper not that you would be catching at that distance but just getting to see how it holds it's pattern with such small size shot.
maybe you can find the answer Iam looking for.Say I get a sig cross in 6.5 creed and the rifle comes with a 20 in. barrell the muzzle velocity of 6.5 creed is slow but maintains its velocity very good.Say you lose 60 ft per in. , thats 240 ft. off a 24 in. and 360 ft. offf a 26 in barrell are we over estimating what is needed to take deer size game I saw the guy on backfire shoot his sig cross 6.5 creed with a 20. in. barrell and it looks to be quite effective .I wanted tto get one those rifles but wanted a longer barrell can you run some tests on the 65 creed.prc and the 6.8 western in diferent barrell lengths and see what you really are getting.I dont have a chrono. and you seem to get ammo donations so making it wouldnt be cheap also what do you think of barrell extensions like brakes and suppressors you could screw on and add ins. to your barrell
I've never seen such an accurate drawing of a turkey in my life.
🤣🤣🤣
🤣🤣🤣.. Bob Ross called..he wants his picture back ! .@#🤣🤣🤣🤣👍
If a turkey and a duck got married and had a baby and the artist at Dollywood did a drawing 😄😁😆🤘😎
Draw me Turkey Target. I’ll put on the Fridge. Lol great video
🤣🤣🤣
Love the targets, comedically crude but effective 😂
🤣🤣🤣
It is crazy to me how with the right choke and ammo a .410 is a real 40 yard turkey gun. In some cases even further.
Back in my day, we would’ve never thought of using the 410 turkey hunt
Anyway we can get a chronograph reading on that ejector? LOL
That would be hilarious
Ping!!!!!
I’m gonna go ahead an guess it’s moving at around a whopping 23fps. lol 😂 😜🤪😜
👍😊 now that I’m old the 410 looks good.
I was at a shop today and $45 for a box of that stuff and those two boxes are still there.

Look at the vortex recent video on shotshells, 410 with tungsten had more energy on target than a 12 gauge at 50 yards with regular lead
It looks like it has a 26 yard barrel so 70 yards it's not that far from the choke.
@@BlaBla-pf8mf 😂😂😂😂

Not my usual thing but I'm very impressed over the progress of the .410 in both guns and ammunition iver the years.
I just cant bring myself to pay for a box of those 410 tungstens.
That is some great art work on the turkey WTW!😂
🦃🦃🦃
Great video.
Thanks for watching!
Cool video that gun looks like it will be fun
Love that realistic turkey target😊
Good luck brother! Have fun. I love the 410's.
Just bought my grandson first shotgun it was the savage 301 Camo for turkey.. great video..
Awesome!

Hawke are tough scopes. They hold up well on springer airguns so they'll hold up to anything.
Nice visual drawing , now I can’t wait to see a hunt and cook video , let see what tasty recipe you’ve got for turkey
🦃🦃🦃
That's a good turkey!! Whoteewhooooooooooooo!!
🦃🦃🦃
Good job thanks for the shotgun turkey video
Thanks for watching
That's a cool shot gun. My first shot gum my dad brought me was a single shot 410 hamerless from Montgomery wards catalog.
@songmlf my dad bought me a pump .410 as my first gun
I hate that I lost it and my second gun which was a Remington 1100 he bought also my first gun that I bought a Remington 700 in .270, to a house fire a few years ago
Nice!!!!
Thanks!
That'll work!
Great Stuff 💯💥💥💥💥💥💥💥

Would make a heck of a squirrel gun! 🐿🐿
Absolutely

😂😂😂😂😂 I like that realistic life like turkey target
strech it out
Where did you find 410 shells I can't find them anywhere in Michigan
My local shop tolivers
Scheels
Ever think about 28 gauge? Mossberg has semi 28.
Thanks whoopee, I would like to see what the shot pattern looks like at 40 yards
Sorry, I meant whootie!
What about slugs in this, for medium game? Or even .45 LC?
Never had an optic on a shotgun, but I'm wondering if you could have used a slug of equal weight to that load to get a more accurate sight-in.
I would say yes, but chokes (and wind, to some degree) sometimes have strange affects on pellets that would cause that little black rain cloud to move differently than a slug.

Should be fine
You will get one with it .....
when you fling that shell, try to catch it, thats what all the cool turkey hunters do.
Good idea 😁
Good little shotgun. Check it out 30 -40 yards.👍🇺🇸
I'd like to see what it does at 35-45 yards just on paper not that you would be catching at that distance but just getting to see how it holds it's pattern with such small size shot.
I would try using a number 4 or 6 those nines seem a bit small
Is the 410 intended to make more of a challenge? I thought having a 3 1/2" 12g was a good turkey getter. More lead, more better.
More lead = more meat gets tore up too 🤣
Does more damage on both ends.😂
😘💕👍👍
Realistic and lifelike turkey target. LOL
🤣🤣🤣
Much easier for YOU than a P17! Go KELTEC
Wonder how the apex ninja round would shoot out of that thing

You could take a deer with a 16 inch barrel 6.5cm. Shot placement is way more important than bullet speed. We take deer with much smaller calibers

It looks like it spreads pretty good… maybe you’ll lay down a big Gobbler
I like that little 410 it's got a good pattern I like the glass you put on it look s really nice it's green that's a big plus dude
I bet a regular 7 1/2 would do pretty well without being tungsten. Ya think? Especially with the extra full choke.
I went turkey hunting one time with a guy who turned out to be a crazy person. never been again
Yikes
Green cigars?
I’d leave it too
Stretch to 40 and count how many head hits
Look closer at your pattern 50+ % are high and right
Nice bingbang gobbler getter !
Nitro company choke and nitro 9.5 over 10s. You'll thank me later
🦃👍👍
Gobble, Gobble 🦃
You put a scope on a single shot 410? That should be a crime...At least make sure your buddy is standing behind you when you eject the shell.
i prefer a stevens double barrelel 26" bbl. s thanks
Go futher
Cool Lil tool there. Seen a Stoeger o/u .410.
Gd luck and let's see what happens @30-40 yds
