I really enjoy your videos (and Doran). You teach Hebrew and it is so natural, you inspire us to keep learning. We had a horrible experience here in Israel at the State Sponsored Ulpan, one exception made of a great teacher that we had for a month, the rest of the teachers were bitter, , not encouraging, the program was outdated, rushed, not relevant, they did not use graphics or videos or music, they were teachers about to retire, not young people like you, full of great ideas, sharing experiences and using modern tools. I'm what's called "functionally illiterate" in Hebrew. I can read, write, and speak Hebrew just fine (though pretty slow) but I have zero idea what I'm saying. Stuff like this helps a lot with connecting words I've heard and spoken to their definition.

I don't have a Hebrew option on my key board so I hope you understand what I mean by "ki" or "qi" the point is that it should not be used as often as it is and especially in a video purporting to teach! Yes of course it is used daily but why not use it as it should be?
Depends on if you want to be an author in Hebrew or actually speak the language. If you want to be an author, then sure, use proper Hebrew the way it’s supposed to be. If you want to speak to everyday folks, then learn the way most people talk. There is no right or wrong way to learn a language, just learn! Have fun 😁
@@jadeashlee9664 So two wrongs make a right? That is a poor excuse for poor grammar. The way one learns may vary but one first learns the correct way then if mistakes are encountered then the deviation is not too far from center.

I'm a native speaker and a Hebrew teacher. There is nothing wrong about saying "כי" I don't know why you find it as mistake, it's just spoken Hebrew. If you are looking for more formal Hebrew you can find it in learning books etc:)
@@PieceofHebrew Being as it's a while since I completed ulpan I thought that I had better take it into work and ask my coworkers, Israelis. They agreed with you that yes there are people do speak like that but the owners and the hiring manager said that they take it as a sign of a persons education and it would count against them.
