Much thanks for the direct, no-nonsense video/product review! No stupid fanfare, good angles on video, and exactly what it looks like in the real world.

Never put stranded under a bolt without at least using a ferrule.

Along with those new battery clamps you may want to consider installing a remote distribution box or even an extra fuse box so you can clean up that birds nest. That's a lot of wiring to me but then again I run an old truck with power nothing right now, but I do have a second fuse and disto box for lights, future winch. I came here to see an accurate size reference for the clamp. My positive clamp keeps coming loose so I'm done with lead clamps, thanks for this video.

Good point. That’s my next project, thank you for the suggestion.

Myself I would have disconnected the negative first

First, great video on these connectors. No questions were left unanswered. My only issue is, with the connector, not you, or your video. On the larger holes, where you can put a cable, then tighten the bolt down onto it, that is not a real good connection. When you tighten the bolt down, it flattens and spreads out the wires.

Please let us know how these Vgates work out long term. I'm concerned that the small surface area of the stud is not making the best contact with the bigger diameter winch power lead and over time it will get loose due to the soft strands of copper wire getting flattened-out with vibration, etc.

Your meant to crip a sleeve on all your cables and then feed them into this setup. Once u screw down the stud it indents into the crimp making it impossible to fall out. Additionally you have the lock nut on the stud too.
Doing it with bare copper stranded wire is just asking for it to come loose

I would use ferrules on the cables then bolt them down.

why only on lead acid batteries should be able to put these on lithium batteries also as long as they have the same type of terminals ?

Don't look like they will support over sized lugs (skihigh)

I'm a little worried about that, my battery cable are 00 and have appropriate lugs, gonna try anyway luckily it's a returnable item

I got the VGates without the large holes, they say AGM but obviously you could use them on any battery. But really sturdy and I am running 2/0 cables off of them.

This is a terrible installation ... you should always use ferrules.

The sound of the my being so close to mouth to the point of hearing you swallow and Mac n cheese noised from your mouth made me turn your video off.
