  • We show how to replace your battery terminal connectors with better performing ones, without cutting the OEMwires. This is what we found to be the safest way to add on winch cables, power for a lightbar, and any other power need. Unlike military spec. car battery terminals, these battery post terminals have multiple connections. More than enough to safely handle all those 12 volt power add-ons. So if you're looking how to change battery terminals and want the best battery terminal replacement clamp, take a close look at the SDHQ battery terminal connectors. They have a battery terminal for; Ford Raptor, Ford F150, F250 & F 350, Toyota 4Runner, Tacoma, FJ Cruiser, Tundra, Nissan Xterra, Armada, Titan, Frontier, Pathfinder.

    Hey M&M! I just now experienced the rattling of the exhaust pipe on the skid plate on my FJ. So I went back to your old video on this subject. I've got the old RCI skids. After looking at the new transfer case skid you install. I stole the idea. Cut a hole and welded up a drop pocket. Works great. But I didn't think about drilling holes in it for rocks and water to get out. So that helped too. Old videos are great to go back on. Thanks. Problem solved!!!

  • @extrememiami
    @extrememiami Před 2 lety +3

    Perfect idea and very sharp looking. I only wish they made them in tinned copper. Aluminum doesn't conduct as well as copper and tinned copper is more resistant to corrosion and a better conductor especially at higher amperage. I haven't seen a single one in tinned copper so far though so maybe cost is a factor, I really dont know. Also 99% of the ones sold on amazon are Chinese Aluminum and never sold with a cover. Enlarging a battery terminal that big and not providing a cover or even an option to buy one is insane. Really dangerous. I'm glad you guys found a cover. Super smart.

    • @kencreel5660
      @kencreel5660 Před 2 lety +2

      I had aluminum supplying my rv sub panel - yeah it burned down cause the aluminum expands and contracts so much with temperature changes the connection became loose. Never will I use aluminum again

    • @extrememiami
      @extrememiami Před 2 lety +2

      @@kencreel5660 oh yes I forgot about that also. Now your added more types of metal also and the odds that you'll be connecting to another aluminum connection are slim to none. Can't believe they only make these in aluminum with no intentions of even offering tin plated copper. Such a waste. I'm returning mine tomorrow I also had an issue that these are cut straight and they go on a flared terminal which loosens with vibration since it's not also flared.

      It’s not as good as copper and used to be common in household wiring, but it corrodes easily comparatively. Interesting to see how these hold up over time.

    Your better off fitting a separate buss bar a few inches from the battery than one of these, ally is not a good material at all for a terminal, it heat stresses, doesn't conduct as well as a brass or tinned copper terminal AND it reacts with copper wire.
    I'm sorry but that bolt up compression terminal is the worst idea I've ever seen for a heavy load cable! Crimp or solder, you will never achieve a cold weld with that POS of a terminal.
