    Disconnect the negative cable before working on the positive or a tool or something can short out if it contacts the positive terminal and metal.

      I'd definitely put the acrylic on the positive terminal side the moment all its connections are done, before messing with the negative side.

    My only question with this system is how do you jump start if your battery dies somewhere?

    What are you guys using so the toyota alternator is putting out sufficient voltage to properly recharge AGM batteries?

      @swade417 Před rokem +1

      On my GX ive been using a Voltage Booster PRO and so far 0 issues, just mentioning as another option.

      On a 3rd gen Tacoma, it can only be done with a tune adjustment to electronically tell the alternator to raise the output voltage to 14.6vdc. There is no other way to do it, no addon device that I know of to raise it from 13.8 to 14.6.
      Even with an aftermarket high output alternator, the computer will tell it to output 13.8vdc.
      The problem is that every time I talk to a "Tuner" to see if it can be done, they want to sell me a complete tune package that alters everything from throttle response to shift points. I don't want all that. I simply want to raise the output voltage; I'm happy with everything else about my taco.
      These Tuner guys are like high pressure salesmen.

      @@swade417 Yeah that’s what I’ve been looking into. I think if R4T is pushing using these G31 batteries or any AGM they should at least let folks know of the issues involved with going AGM. My $0.02

      @@Runnin4Tacos Just an update for anyone wanting to know if it works for 100 series. The negative terminal cover sits too high and can’t close the hood. Right now I have just the positive terminal cover, i shaved the spacers about 1/8”. Although, in theory you should be fine with the negative terminals exposed I made a cover for the negative terminals out of a thin sheet of rubber i found just for peace of mind.
