Extreme Cold Weather Truck Camping with Multiple Heat Sources

- This week we traveled to the beautiful Cascade Falls State Park on the Minnesota North Shore. The temperatures dipped down below freezing this week in a large portion of the country. If I stayed around home, I was going to be dealing with -35 degrees, so I chose to find warmer temps on the shores of Lake Superior. The big body of water helped keep the daytime temps in the single digits below zero. The weather channel was forecasting low temperatures around -20 degrees but the coldest we saw was -15 degrees. The winds kept the Windchill value around -30 degrees all weekend. I was able to find shelter from the wind tucked in the trees while out on our hike. Cascade River State Park has some amazing views and beautiful waterfalls.
Mandi and Tilli joined me this week! Mandi finally agreed to a small appearance in this week's video. I think we are finally making some progress with seeing Mandi being more involved in the channel.

This makes me miss camping with my boyfriend even more. He passed September 2022. Bud loved using his camper, having and cooking over the firepit. I wish, just for a day, that I could go back, hang out and snuggle him. God bless you both🙏🏼

Nice to finally see you, Mandy. My wife passed a few years ago, and I always felt I was the luckiest man because my wife of over 40 years was always up for any kind of adventure. Winter/summer and anywhere we decided to vacation. So many memories, it's great you go along. I would give anything to still have my Janice to share stuff like this with.

It is cool seeing them still in service. That's how we make reservations at the campground when the office is not staffed. It's a great because cell phone service can be sketchy at times. It's nice for emergency services too.

Hey Kenny, greetings from Europe, Slovenia to be exact. I must say, of all the Overlanding "represenatieves" on CZcams, I think you are the most sincere, down to earth and honest, it so shows how much you like camping and nature. I must say, the way you present Minnesota ... damn .. I wish I lived there, sooooooo beautifull nature all arround, a looooot less problems to "wild camp" as here in Europe. And I am glad, that Mandy is shown more, you seem so more happy and relaxed when she or even Tilly are with you.. :) In one video, probably long ago, you said, you have no idea what you are doing with your cam & editing... Huuuh, I totally dissagree! In my oppinion, all your videos are very very cinematic, and damn good put together, it shows how much time and efford you put into them. In that in mind, I have a question, I don't think noone asked it before.. What kind of video and editing equipment you use for making all those beautifull content you present to us? I wish you, Mandy and Tilly all the best, and keep on doing what you do, you really ROCK! MG

Thank you so much! I use a Gopro 10 action camera. It's really simple to use. I don't understand all the features of a regular camera. I use a DJI Mini 2 drone. I edited the videos on Wondershare Filmora. It's a super easy editing program to learn. I appreciate you watching.

When it’s cold and your stuck in the house for days on end, having the gumption to get out for the weekend at a campground is awesome, I like to say to my wife “we won’t let anything other than fear or common sense stop us” life is short enjoy it while you can, take care.

Thanks for the comment. I'm glad you are hearing the call from nature too! Life is short, and there's a HUGE chunk of land to explore. For years, I watched my favorite RV CZcams channels traveling the country. I always said, "One day, when I retire, I'm going to travel just like them." Then I realized that tomorrow isn't a guarantee. I hope others realize that being a weekend adventurer can be rewarding. Maybe on day I'll have the opportunity to travel full-time. But for now, I'm just like most of the viewers. I got a job, kids, mortgage, bills....going deep into the woods on the weekends is what keeps me sane in our crazy busy world.

My buddies and I love hanging at our private campground in the Ozark Mountains when it's cold and snowy. My wife thinks we're nuts. I keep telling her, hey, there's no bugs, sweat or sunburns. Win-win-win. 😆
I would contact those folks privately and just go with them. Start out small. I dont like large groups of people either but some good people and you have a great time. Give it a try.

It sucks that I was able to show proper documentation and licenses to play that song in my videos, but CZcams didn't care. They gave the money I made on my last video with that song to a company that said it was theirs. My next step was hiring a lawyer, so I said forget it....thats why the song isn't there anymore. It's stupid how CZcams handles copyright claims. Anyone can tell CZcams they own the rights to a song. CZcams automatically believes that person and requires the content creator to provide proof of ownership. And if the complaint believes they still are the rightful owners, it's sent to arbitration. The complaint is not responsible for showing any proof. Anyone can make a copyright claim on any CZcams video.
