Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us. You do a great job.
Thank you very much, my friend!
Thanks again my friend for another great video 👍
Big thanks for a nice comment!
Thank you very much sir ! I have a similar situation in my balcony and this video helped a lot! Nice gear also for measuring the height of the liquid.
Glad it was helpful!
Great video. I really admire and respect your dedication to doing a job correctly.
You are a true craftsman.
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Looks good!
Like always! Thanks
What I did to my floor that was sloping down in some places 1 inch and 3/4 I used durock sheets (cement cement board) of 1/2 inch and 1/4 inch in some places and it help me save a lot of money in self leveling cement. I seen that you had used plywood before to fill the sloping down on wood floor. but definitely try durock(cement board) for fill the sloping down on concrete it will help you save tons of money. Take care I love all your videos.
Hi, thanks for your idea.
That is an excellent idea do you glue down the cement board
@@thomasflynn6307 yes i did with liquit nail
Omg you are sooooooooo good.
Thank you so much
Thanks a lot!
Wow! this is what im getting ready to do in my house, thank you for your experience, 😃
You are welcome, my friend!
Thanks 😃
Was curious if you add the specified amount of water to the leveler or a bit more. In the video, your leveler seems to flow out really well with a bit more working time. Thanks for producing great videos and taking the time to answer questions.
Hi Garth, very good question! You have to try , how much water you can add extra, because if it to much, water can destroy self leveler structure. Only by experiences.
Subscribed.
Thank you!
Here is one more video about sloping down floor and a concrete leveling on it.
Thanks for this video, you make it look very easy I'm sure it isn't. I have to level a sloping floor but even worse than this, 4cm lower on one end. Would you suggest I build the low end up a bit with concrete before so it's not so deep with the self leveller? Also concrete is a lot cheaper. I notice that you use a straight edge in your other videos to get a straight line but you didn't use it here, why was that?
If you have a big sloping, how you can do leveling with straight edge? You need tripods. 4 cm - it's not much. I don't now how to level it with regular concrete. Try...
@@MrYoucandoityourself Thanks. I mean putting a layer of concrete of say 3cm at the lowest part first, then 1cm of self levelling over the top, instead of 4cm thick layer of self levelling. Do you get a completely flat floor with the tripods?
With tripods you can get flat level. Check my videos - czcams.com/video/9OpVeAKLDeM/video.html
Hi. What kind of shoes are you wearing here with the spikes?
Hi Brad, here it is - Mens Rain Boot - amzn.to/2HtmKVS
I've seen a couple videos that they say not to touch the self leveler after poured and others spread it around. What's your take on leaving it and letting it goes where it needs to go?
Hi, you have to work with this material, spreading where your need. SLC can float but not much. Thanks!
What are those silver tripod things you put around the floor?
Sill Plate Gasket
How do you know when to stop rolling it? And speaking of what brand makes that spike roller you use?
Never mind just saw in description link for spike roller. Thanks so much!
You are welcome.
Where did you get the tripod thickness gauges from?
Hi Jon, here it is - - Floor Screed Tripods - bit.ly/2uVCPfX
Oh tripod thickness gauge 🤔
Is this considered a temporary fix for not getting the foundation raised? Just asking because I have a a pichers mound and was told that the foundation has to raised was the only way the slopping could be leveled..it that the truth??
Hi, All houses after few years settle down, and some site is higher some is lower.
If you have one really high spot it might be best to try to remove it. You can use a small jackhammer with a chisel blade to chip it out. Then go over it with some product to make it smooth and flat.
Hi,There was very lower spot, not possible grinding to much.
hi where can l find the bucket and tripod in Canada
Hi, I am selling tripods. How many do you need? I have link in description to my website.
I just really don't know how you do that yourself. I did it and I really thought I was gonna die afterward from exhaustion!
Hi, It's not me, this is a robot with my face. :-) If I did it by my self I will die too....
What do you pour/spread if you want to make it just flat, and not make it level?
For making flat I am using straight edge.
@@MrYoucandoityourself So enough leveler stays on the high side so that it stays flat even though it’s unlevel?
Yes
@@MrYoucandoityourself That's what I was wondering. Do you pour on the high area first, so that it can run downhill slightly? Also mix a bit less water perhaps I think you mentioned in an other video. Thank you
In this example, you pour self leveling concrete in low area first to raise the low area. Then you work your way up to the high area of the floor. Is that correct? Thank you sir.
Yes you’re right! I just finished a job, you can have a look my last Facebook post, with same situation. First - filled up lower side and than put leveling material to all area. Thanks!
Was it sloping because of foundation? My home has a 3- 4 inch slope because of foundation issue can i do this to my floors?
Hello Clos, good question. Firs of all you can rebuild subfloor beams, second way to build up with plywood or with backer board. Backer board very light instead of put a lot of self leveling compound. Ask framers, can they fix your subfloor and hoe much it will cost. Here is the example - czcams.com/video/_Q_YnKDhrDQ/video.html
@@MrYoucandoityourself thank you for the reply back, I have looked for solutions and there are a few ways that this is fixed, since my home sits on a concrete slab it would require pillars that lift the home, the down side to that is that once the cement settles the way it has everything shifts to that new settlement. If you try to level it again chances are you might crack, walls, studs and roof, un-level windows and doors, worst of all it might happen again and most say that it is most likely it could happen again. The home was built in 1985 so the slope is not bad for the year. Some have told me that here in Texas new built homes have this same sloping after a few years of being built and this repair of mine can cost from 5k-7k When I saw your video it made me wonder if this could work.
@@clostobias8609 You have to choose, what kind of repairing fit to your budget. If the house is almost 40 years old, its meaning - already settle.
What kind of dewalt laser level is that?
Hi Joe, here it is - - Dewalt Laser Level - amzn.to/2i8rO2A
Why do you need tripods? Isn't liquid finding low spots and self levelling?
Hi Craig, very good question! Self leveling compound not floating freely, like a water. And for you need some tools which should help you make control with this process. Tripods will help you make it very easy. Thanks
do you work by yourself? no helper?
Yes, I work along.
Don't you need to grind out those carpet glue and paint overspray on the concrete subfloor before primer?
Good question! If some spots small and old, and primer can penetrate through, I lived it. Thanks
Where are you located? I need you to do 1200sqft
Vancouver, BC
@@MrYoucandoityourself oh, you need a plane :-) great work!
Yes, can you buy jet for me, please.
@@MrYoucandoityourself hahahahaha
How to level smal dimps from 2 to 4 mm that are all over the floor?
I do it with straight edge. Here it is - czcams.com/video/8_xFIhvi6fc/video.html
Why on earth would you do this. Haven’t you heard of settling. No slab is 0 all the way around. Slabs move. It won’t be level a year from u doing this
Here is second floor in concrete building.
It doesn't need to be zero, but if there is a major dip or slope, it can cause all kinds of problems, especially if you are putting tile down. Also, slabs will settle over time as the ground compacts underneath it. Once it has settled for many years, the movement will be much less than when the house was first built.
Buddy take a breath and slow down while u talk lol
Thanks for worry about me.
