    What I did to my floor that was sloping down in some places 1 inch and 3/4 I used durock sheets (cement cement board) of 1/2 inch and 1/4 inch in some places and it help me save a lot of money in self leveling cement. I seen that you had used plywood before to fill the sloping down on wood floor. but definitely try durock(cement board) for fill the sloping down on concrete it will help you save tons of money. Take care I love all your videos.

    Was curious if you add the specified amount of water to the leveler or a bit more. In the video, your leveler seems to flow out really well with a bit more working time. Thanks for producing great videos and taking the time to answer questions.

      Hi Garth, very good question! You have to try , how much water you can add extra, because if it to much, water can destroy self leveler structure. Only by experiences.

    Thanks for this video, you make it look very easy I'm sure it isn't. I have to level a sloping floor but even worse than this, 4cm lower on one end. Would you suggest I build the low end up a bit with concrete before so it's not so deep with the self leveller? Also concrete is a lot cheaper. I notice that you use a straight edge in your other videos to get a straight line but you didn't use it here, why was that?

      If you have one really high spot it might be best to try to remove it. You can use a small jackhammer with a chisel blade to chip it out. Then go over it with some product to make it smooth and flat.

    In this example, you pour self leveling concrete in low area first to raise the low area. Then you work your way up to the high area of the floor. Is that correct? Thank you sir.

    • @MrYoucandoityourself
      @MrYoucandoityourself  Před rokem

      Hello Clos, good question. Firs of all you can rebuild subfloor beams, second way to build up with plywood or with backer board. Backer board very light instead of put a lot of self leveling compound. Ask framers, can they fix your subfloor and hoe much it will cost. Here is the example - czcams.com/video/_Q_YnKDhrDQ/video.html

      @@MrYoucandoityourself thank you for the reply back, I have looked for solutions and there are a few ways that this is fixed, since my home sits on a concrete slab it would require pillars that lift the home, the down side to that is that once the cement settles the way it has everything shifts to that new settlement. If you try to level it again chances are you might crack, walls, studs and roof, un-level windows and doors, worst of all it might happen again and most say that it is most likely it could happen again. The home was built in 1985 so the slope is not bad for the year. Some have told me that here in Texas new built homes have this same sloping after a few years of being built and this repair of mine can cost from 5k-7k When I saw your video it made me wonder if this could work.

      It doesn't need to be zero, but if there is a major dip or slope, it can cause all kinds of problems, especially if you are putting tile down. Also, slabs will settle over time as the ground compacts underneath it. Once it has settled for many years, the movement will be much less than when the house was first built.
