    The reflection of the metal studs on the surface of the compound really show how effective that roller is to flatten it out.

    Thanks for the "how to's". I have sealed my garage floor. does that sealer have to be removed before I can prime and poor the leveler?

    When doing a whole room like this one, what is the amount of water you use compared to what the directions say? Do you use the most water it allows, or somewhere in the middle?

    great video. would you advise a beginner having a second set of hands to mix or do you think that someone doing this for the first time can work quick enough before it sets to get the next batch mixed?

      Hi David, I don’t know about other brands, but Mapei gives to you over half an hour. For this time you can smoke cigar, drink vine, watching TV and also finish leveling. Just use cold water. Thanks!

    Great as always. I want to put tiles in one part of my apartment now, but in future I will redo all the floors, including bathroom. Do I need to pay attention now that bathroom floor must be lowest in the whole apartment. I am asking because currently bathroom is very high, its higher than most of the floors.

    • @MrYoucandoityourself
      @MrYoucandoityourself  Před 4 lety +1

      Hi Lazar, usually the bathroom should be lower than the other floor area, but now nobody cares about it. Most clients want to make all floors even without any steps. Up to you, only your design, my friend!

    • @Piterszczyk
      @Piterszczyk Před 3 lety +2

      You could make the tiles slightly slope down towards the shower/bath, 3mm slope per 1m won't be noticable and will ensure that if there's water spilled while bathing/showering (so everyday use) it won't run towards the bathroom door. Obviously that won't work for large leaks, if there's loads of water you will flood the other rooms if they are lower than the bathroom.

    Do you ever break up the pour into sections, if the area is too large (or complex) to do in one shot?

    • @MrYoucandoityourself
      @MrYoucandoityourself  Před 3 lety +3

      I did it in one shot, but if don’t have enough experience, do it by sections. Thanks

    sorry basic question. If you primer the floor but go back to apply the self levelling compound several days later, do you re-apply the primer, or is it enough to sprinkle a little water to moist the area (I mean apply from a spray bottle) or do I not even need to bother moistening it up again and just apply the self levelling? thanks for the video!

    • @MrYoucandoityourself
      @MrYoucandoityourself  Před 8 měsíci

      Hi my friend, very good question! For any applications of self leveling compound you have to put primer. I never use sprinkler to do it. Always roll it with painters roller. Don’t scare about moisture. Primer should be mixed with water for better penetration.

    Does one need to rinse the bucket out after every batch? Will the left over stuff get hard in there or can you just keep using the same bucket without rinsing?

    Did you add more water then the instructions, looks more liquid then normal. Can you add more water then the instructions and still get a good outcome

    • @MrYoucandoityourself
      @MrYoucandoityourself  Před 2 lety

      Hi Michael, yes, I did. But for any other brands it’s too complicated. For example Sika SLC very sensitive to water amounts. If you not using Mapei, try with small amount of SLC. If your result will positive, you can do it. I did big research for a long time with SLC Mapei.
