AFTER THE BUFFS:
- Team's weaknesses are still there. The additional HP is nice, but doesn't change this guide.
- You can now use the free 2 EP that you have to spend on 2 combat blades, which is nice as a back up. You can use them also guarantee 5 damage on a charge using For Cadia if you really need to, but it's not that great. More often, use it to guarantee 4 damage on a charge if you're desperate?
- Additional Elite Points means you can use them for most of your big weapon attacks now, but still doesn't mean you can use them on your less powerful ones.
Who should get combat blade?

There is a semi-decent combo against hordes: Trooper with frag grenade, buffed by comms on TP1. Combo with +1EP from that strat ploy and you have a nasty 2 free EP blast grenade with 15" threat range.

Excellent overview
The flamer (unmodified) does more damage to SM and INT than both the Volley-gun and even the Krak Profile of the grnage launcher. (YES hitting 5 shots on 2+ is THAT much better even tho the damage is only 2, those 2's stack)
It's an auto take on ITD.
The flamer is great, as the fourth Gunner (Behind Sniper, Melta, and Plasma)
The exception is that elite points on the flamer vs using elite points on your Krak rolls - in that case the Krak finally wins out! But this isn't necessarily a great reason to take the Krak because you already have 3 other weapons that should be using your elite points almost exclusively. You should save and use your elite points on the Melta, The Plasmas, and the Sniper, which do insane damage when essentially auto-critting (by spending elite points). Elite points should ONLY be used on the BIG guns, becuase they barely make a dent on las weapons. Hitting on 4+ just plain sucks. and elite points can't even make these weapons as strong as a SM bolter or Shuriken rifle, regardless of how many elite points are used, they still do pitiful damage. BUT they can really push your big guns over the edge, so only use them there! Save them for those few big shots you're hopefully going to be taking. Therefore in most instances, the flamer will still be a better take than the launcher and volley gun, even against elites.
AS clean up the flamer is very important as a very reliable murderer of the injured. Grenade launcher and Volley-gun can wiff, the flamer cannot wiff! So even though it's doing small damage, it's very important when strategizing to have very RELIABLE damage.
I love this, never considered that! I definitely agree that you should never use EP on the last gun (Krak GL in the guide), but never considered the math on there for ITD specifically. Cheers! This makes me happy since my flamer is my favorite model on the team (gave him a fun kitbash head).

Hey. I'm new to killteam and picked Kasrkin as my starter team because I like guard and I was told whilst not powerful Kasrkin were a good team to learn the game with. Not too many complicated abilities to learn with reliable dice where it matters courtesy of elite. Thank you for the guide! I was going to suggest leaving the slides on screen longer but then saw you linked them.

Thanks! Great question, probably should have touched on this. I think they fill different roles. Scions probably can do Loot better, no question, however overall Kasrkin fill the "shoot lots of AP2" niche better. They don't do the same things, ultimately.

You generate 4 per turning point for a total of 26 per game not 18, 2 no matter what and 2 for leader still being alive.
Just give them 14 operatives ? I really don't understand how James Workshop dropped the ball on them. Or just make their shooting slightly better vs everything.
