I would enjoy the transmission rebuild video. Ive been a diesel mechanic for about over a decade. Ive really enjoyed your videos over the years and generally feel like i walk away from the videos more knowledgeable. Theese videos motivate me to work harder and expand my knowledge base. Hard working knowledgeable diesel mechanics are a dying breed. A majority of the guys ive worked with over the years just wanna show up and collect a paycheck for the least amount of work possible. Everyone avoids hard work. Ive seen so much equipment damnaged from laziness its unreal

I'd go for another video of the ZF6. You are the only guy on CZcams who has video of rebuilding that transmission and the original video is from before you were using a body mount camera. Love the videos thank you for making them.
I would like to see the rebuild of the transmission, haven't seen one done for awhile. All your video's are good, and i have picked up a few thing's that have helped me out, so sure appreciate the time you put in doing these video's. I hear you on getting older, I'll be 53 in a month, can't see crap, don't have the endurance i used to, and my bones are barking at me. I have progressive MS that's causing muscle wasting on my entire left side, which then causes numbness and weakness. I get pissed off at time's, because my hand is numb, and doing thing's like starting a bolt can be challenging if i can't use my right hand. My neurologist told me i need to keep as active as i can to try and maintain what's left. When you said you don't get mad anymore when shop's leave the plugs out of the engine, you're right, not worth raging over it. I try not to let stuff like that bother me, or the frustration of not being able to do the thing's the way i used to do them. Onwards and upwards like you say all the time. G-d bless you, your family, and all them furry critters.
you know that if you fill that high pressure pump chamber on the top of the engine before trying to start, it will lite off a lot quicker, pull that sensor on top re behind/under the heater bypass hose that goes from the top center of the water pump and up and over the engine, it will make your life and the starters life easier!

I I have a similar truck to this, a 2000 f250 extended cab long bed 4x4, same 7.3 engine and has a zf6. It has manual shift 4x4 which I prefer. Has 254,000 miles, runs great and the zf6 shifts perfectly. Thanks for the video, I always enjoy them
I watch the Truck House Life channel and hes got an F350 crewcab with a 7.3l Powerstroke flatbed with a cabin on the back! That 7.3l is an amazing motor!!
Another Great Video Warren. My friend had a 6.0L with a 6 Speed Manual Transmission in a 550. I bought a lifting plate that said you could remove an engine in 4 hours, faster than pulling the cab. It did not work with the manual transmission in place. I had to slide the transmission back and pulled it out. Those are pretty big engines in that engine bay. I definitely agree with checking the engine before putting everything together and hoping it runs with no issues. Thanks again for taking your time to drag us along. I got nervous, the first 6.0L I worked on, took quite a bit of cranking to get everything primed up. Glad you could get to the missing plugs.

The fact there isn’t a younger guy in that area working for Warren blows my mind. The amount of knowledge one could learn from him. I’ve lived all over the US and haven’t seen a mechanic like him. Damn near about to pack my family up and go work for him.
That’s one serious transmission, the width of those gears man!! We don’t get stuff that stout here in the uk, that would be like a rigid truck that might come with a 4 or 6 BT Cummins over here, not a pick em up truck!
Nice job as always warren I swear machine shops toss the plugs just to piss you off I had same with my caterpillar motor of course I had the coolant system almost full when I found it or I should say garage floor found it !

Hello Warren you may not like to hear this but at point you probably need to wear glasses and if you do it helps to have an invisible line for the bifocals and yes I don't like wearing glasses either but as you get older we find out all the stuff we use do isn't so easy anymore but I really think it would help you a lot to get some glasses I really enjoy your videos you are very good at what you do have a good day
Hi from the uk. I’ve got a 1997 Toyota with the same mileage also needs a tran and engine rebuild but it a long way to Warrens from here 😂. Unfortunately 🙄
The 7.3 uses the ZF S6-650 and the 6.0 and 6.4 uses the ZF S6-750. GM also used the ZF S6-650 from 2001 until 2006 behind the duramax. Years ago when I worked for the dealers I was finding damaged and sheared off roll pins in the shift forks. I came up with a solid steel pin that fits snug inside the roll pin and it uses a washer and eclip to retain it. The number one cause of failure I see in those transmissions is failure due to lack of lubrication because people never check the fluid in their manual transmissions. I hate that cheap plastic clutch fork pivot ball that is used on those transmissions. Early on those were almost always broken and it's just a terrible design. You know it's a common problem when Dorman makes one and it available at every auto part store for $5.

ZF transmission what pilot bearing do you recommend because everything I’ve tried that engine and transmission just tears them up again keep up the good work, and I always look forward to your videos. I don't need to utilize machine shops very often,but as most know, they all seem to treat the plugs and fittings in the same manner...i don't know where u take your block's, head's,ect., probably a few different one's,,but for sure u give those places a fair amount of business,to where perhaps they'd make a f@#$&n effort not to discard or misplace the f@#$&n fittings and plugs.. . I don't understand i guess....the last place was a little curtious,and told me to remove all of em if i didn't want them Mia,but anyway 👍👊
As Long as it is not a 1970's Ford Escort MK1 you put a touch too much oil in one of them and you have a smoke pump regular way to get a few moments out of the shop oveer filll one and start it up

Good place to use 1 or 2 "guide studs" to mount trans case. Use long regular bolts with the heads cut off. to make the "guide studs".
