The transformer was always the weak point to these units, but it looks like they must've made some updates and the boards did have some sorta coating on the backside, so maybe they've updated some of their manufacturing processes. Time will tell...

What size solar panel/battery would you use?

If you're talking about the unit in this video, this unit is an AC powered unit and not a 12v powered unit. Do you have a different unit, if so what brand and model is it and then I can help you out.

The company Woodstream that owns Zareba, Blitzer, American Farmworks, Red Snap'r, & Fi-shock sent nationwide letters out to everybody back in August (2023) that as of November 1st that they weren't supplying anymore parts for their models. If they fail within warranty they'll just send you a new one and if it fails outside of warranty, then probably a place like myself could fix it with retrofitting different parts that are readily available and fix it. But I wouldn't buy a new unit of theirs unless you like wasting money. Look at a Gallagher M360. It'll cost more upfront for you to purchase new, but carries a longer warranty at 3 years, a lot better built inside and out, & repairable if something ever does happen. Don't always buy based on the money you're saving, because it'll cost you more in the end.

Thanks for the question, but I have no idea. You would have to call the manufacturer up and see if they'll tell you. They'll likely not tell you because it's proprietary information probably.

You likely didn't have it on enough fence. Whatever it couldn't get rid of power wise, was getting used up as heat inside of different parts. They're prone for that issue, but every brand has to deal with that scenario, just some brands do it better than others.
