I am alone and have no problem spending money on food I really dont want to waste food and est healthy. I always clean out my frig before I shop, then I come home and wash and chop and package up everything. Like you I keep everything separate to use later, instead of making 4 or 5 meals. I keep an inventory on my frig to remember what I have to use up,and also package indivial items( like pretzels into indiviual bags then put those bag in the original). I only lije fresh grains( rice) so I use a very small rice cooker for meals. I use the paper towel method but do not put a lid on,and store herbs in water. I usually bake my sweet potatoes, but am going to do it your way next.

that's amazing! I also like my rice fresh, not a fan of it sitting in the fridge for too long so I just cook it in a rice cooker when I need it. but what you wrote about the inventory list is brilliant, I might have to start doing that too, so thank you! 💖

PFAs/PFOAs: I've read that paper towels have a lot of "forever chemicals", and tea bags too. When working at an organic coffee shop we rinsed the paper filter before brewing the coffee.
Cabbage: You can just store shredded cabbage, onion, carrot mixture in glass Tupperware with a splash of vinegar. I'd avoid salt, though, because that'll make the veggies excrete their inner moisture more quickly.
Rice: Rice will quickly form harmful bacteria so you def don't want to reheat it in the microwave. I know that.
Intuitiveness: I love the intuitive eating idea! Def listen to your body. Lately my body says, "I love potatoes, onions and butter!" Haha, it's been raining. So I really enjoyed a potato gratin last night with pork, and some mashed potatoes with green beans and catfish today.
Brussel sprouts: My little tip is to try boiling brussel sprouts al dente with vinegar water (to lower alkalinity/bitterness) and then frying with bacon and onion and maybe some fresh garlic at the end. 😋
Pan Frying: I like to "fry" in coconut oil in higher heat situations, but you can throw some butter in after that. The coconut oil tempers the butter so the milk solids don't burn. I don't mess around with ghee.
