    The actual name is Nasi Kandar.Possibly due to its immense popularity,rumours were created citing the operator could have added a bit of ganja/weed to the curry to entice customers.Whichever and whatever is said,the nasi indeed was tasty. So just enjoy it and welcome to Ipoh,my hometown.Best greetings from David,Ipoh,Perak.

    In case you don't know yet, nasi ganja is just basically nasi kandar (basic indian type of rice with mix curries). It's only called nasi ganja in this particular shop because it's addictive as if they put marijuana in it i mean you can see how packed this shop is, people are like waiting to be fed some marijuana lol.

  • @bumicekal4948
    @bumicekal4948 Před 4 lety

    It is nasi ganja(weed) . It was given such name not because it contain any weed in it but simply because of the drowsy effect it gives after you eat it, due to the use of poppy seeds in the curry. But I'm not sure weather they still using it in the curry nowadays. Poppy seeds are categorized as one of drugs in some part of the world. Singapore is one of it. You can't bring in poopy seeds to Singapore. Its illegal. But Malaysia I'm not sure though I'm a Malaysian.

    No videos from you guys and i missed watching your videos. So i had to watch this one to see your review specifically on Nasi Ganja. Lol!
    So, it's not ganja, but they put in an ingredient called kas-kas (poppy seed) inside the sambal. It kinda makes the food addictive and gets you sleepy. Had roadtrip last time with my friends and nearly got into an accident after a round of nasi ganja because all of us dozed off and our friend who drove nearly fell asleep as well. The car swerved and all of us woke up in panic and woke the driver up. Which saved our lives.

    Hitchhiking in malaysia is incredibly dangerous. You seldom see locals do this. I think these tourists were lucky that nothing unfortunate happened to them and they had nice people to help them. I have relatives who work in police who have handle cases of missing persons etc so i am not exagerating. The risk is greater for women travelling alone of course.
