“Found a red IPod at an antique store.”
Just that statement is enough to give me anxiety about getting older.
I just found out a week ago that my oldest brother was murdered. My other brother decided to leave this earth in 2018 and my older sister did the same in 2015. Seeing my siblings not make it past their 30’s and 40’s has been extremely tough for me, especially since I haven’t really done much with my life except work nonstop since I was 16 years old. I don’t own a home, don’t have prospects for finding a wife, or having children. And I’ll live longer than my any of my older siblings if I don’t die unexpectedly. Along with all that, all the other issues like the state of the world and economy it’s looking somewhat bleak. I empathize with your worries.

Thinking on the years gone by is really hard on me. If it wasn't for God my wife I wouldn't be here. Almost drank myself to death until I layed it down last November. Life to me doesn't feel right and I don't feel normal. It's like a sense of impending doom over my head day in day out. Thank you for this video. I do have a glimmer of hope. God and my wife. My home is payed for as our vehicle and I live in the country in Louisiana. I have no reason to feel the way I do except for a spine disease. God bless everyone and thank you again for the video.

Sometimes it really feels like it's over. It's getting harder to visualize a future where I have the things I wanted, and it all feels purposeless.

I will be 40 in less than 1 week & I remember jam packed malls. Amazon & online orders has slowly choked out all the physical stores. All those lamenting their existence should look to God. He knows why you were made. If you make efforts toward Him you may be surprised that He reciprocates. One principle here is that to people who are making an honest effort to follow His teachings, a prayer that requests something that is not contrary to His plan/will is likely to be granted. The best way to do this is to imagine Him sitting right in front of you asking you what is on your mind and heart.

If you consider the fact that basic shelter can be mass produced for as little as $25,000 per unit it becomes obvious that conventional housing on the market in urban areas is really nothing but a form of real estate speculation based upon what the market would bear if and when you decided to sell. And this is quite sick considering that shelter is a necessity. But at least in Cleveland used vintage houses are considerably cheaper than what you’re quoting. And that would be because nobody wants to buy a used house. Everybody who can afford to do so wants a brand new four bedroom house with a tripe garage preferably on a cul de sac erected on virgin land which was carved out of sold off farmland recently. But then if the price of gasoline gets too high these people could find themselves stranded out in the exurbs contemplating the necessity of turning their entire lot into a vegetable garden just to feed themsevles.

I am also 44. My crisis is that I don't think I need to work any more but I still do and I don't know if I should. I bought a foreclosed house after the Wall Street crashed the whole World's economies in 2008 and everybody was screwed, and somehow I was the one uneffected.

    "iPod at an antique store"...

  • @eliinthewolverinestate6729

We bought a tax sale house for 8k. It was some work, but has paid off. Few years ago we bought 10 acres up north for 17k. Working on building an off grid earthship design cottage to get rid of as many bills as possible. Using masonry walls instead of tire walls. I use linux. Money is a store of value. Currencies loose value. Money is not currencies. Cost of utilities always goes up. The kids actually like going up north camping now. With lower populations I find people are more likely to help each other. Inflation at 2% means over 20 years currencies have lost 40% of value. Property tax at 2% means in 20 years you have paid more than 40% of houses value. The house value goes up too. Agricultural tax exemptions can reduce property tax. Even thou wages go up inflation means you loose value. They fraction the currencies so they take value little bit by little bit. So the currency controllers can take a little more for themselves. Same old money changers. No different then coin clipping by Romans. Senors walk the malls here. Makes sense with bathrooms, benches, and climate control. They need to put dept of aging and social security offices in malls.

I was always getting the "At Will/Right to Work" law used. Just as 3 weeks vacation & 40% vesting. Start over at the bottom. I started slow at buying, fixing & renting old houses. I found something that worked. My wife was against it "all I care about is houses" she'd throw in my face. Well beginning an endeavor is a lot of dedication. I had us up to 3 & the down saved for that 4th. She boyfriends, they take that down payment. Then they false accuse, then after learning he is HIV positive, I file divorce. He coaches so as to live off her takings. I lose my life's work. Why Even Try

People live in paradigms and when a paradigm is challenged cognitive dissonance kicks in to maintain that paradigm. When cognitive dissonance starts to die, a schism begins to take shape and it's there that the fork in the road is noticed.
