Its amazing how far your personal oppinion is from the ones who created the cameras.
SIGMA says proudly how good the new Autofocus on the fp is and that is is made 50% for still and 50% for video. They don't think of the camera as an cinema camera and in interviews it seems that Kazuto Yamaki (CEO of SIGMA) is even suprised and doesn't understand why people think like that.
This camera is awesome for stills and offers lots of features only for stills. Its as good for stills as it is for video (quoting Kazuto Yamaki here) and most people who own an fp are using it for stills.
And i totally agree with that, i can't see any reason why you should not use the fp for Stills (i am doing exactly that, i didn't record a single Minute of Video until now).
On the other side, when Sony released the RX1, they advertised how awesome it is for Video and the official advertisement for the RX1 was a movie recorded with the RX1.
So while Sony advertises how awesome the RX1 is for Video and SIGMA says that the fp is awesome for stills, you are telling in your unboxing the exact opposite for both cameras.
Its a cool unboxing, really, but maybe you should do some research on what the Designer and Creater of the camera things and tell that in addition to your personal oppinion like
"Sony advertises the RX1 for being awesome for Videos and SIGMA says their fp is as good for stills as for cinema, but i personally think differente because of XYZ"
Some people interested in the SIGMA fp don't buy it because they think it is not for stills which is a shame because it is an awesome camera for exactly that.

You are absolutely going to love this camera. I picked up one of these 2 months ago and I can't put it down. The 12bit DNG RAW in DaVinci Resolve looks better than anything I've seen. I have also tested Prores RAW with the Ninja V and it works. The only weakness I've found so far is no True C4K @ 24p (17:9), if Sigma finds a way to do this, I'll be buying another one!

Yea i wish we have more resolution and crops on sensor. I hate 1080p on this camera. 12bit is somehow usable but 1080p mov have so much aliasing from line skipping it hurts my eyes. We need 1:1 crop sensor for all resolutions.

Seems like a dream product if you have the money. I hope that Sigma hasn't given up on their Foveon sensor still cameras and will bring out a new advanced enthusiasts compact soon with a prime lens to compete with the likes of the Ricoh GR III, Sony RX 100 VII, Fujifilm X100V, etc.

Have you heard about the rumoured Sigma 24mm f/2.5, 35mm f/2 and 65mm f/2 (all in the Comtemporary line and looks to be similiar to the 45mm f/2.8 in terms of size and look). I’m sure they will be a great fit for camera bodies like the Sigma FP, a7C or any a7 body, really.
The Sony 35mm f/1.8 didn’t really do it for me on the a7R IV, so I’m hoping that the rumoured Sigma 35mm f/2 will do the job. I’m also considering adding the Sigma 100-400mm C, so I’m excited to see your takes on it. Also added the 85mm DN and 14-24mm DN.
One simply can’t state that their price to performance isn’t phenomenal. My kit will soon be dominated by Sigma. Some even replace some of my great Voigtländers, but I like to have both a couple of AF and MF lenses.
What I’m hoping to see next is some sort of 150-180mm prime with 1:2 or 1:1 magnification (a compact f/4 or so would be fine), and some sort of 600-800mm that is light but not too slow, so that it doesn’t diffract too much on higher resolution sensors, perhaps an f/8.

Very nice video as always. I'm still curious as to the stills picture quality.

That would be nice as many reviews only focus on the video side. We all know how good it is now as a cinema camera. It would be nice to know the drawbacks/limitations on the photo side. After all it's called the FP (Film/Photo).

My sigma fp front dial button feels little bit easy to rotate. Can it be a defect or does yours have good resistance?

Nice review! Which are the SSD’s you show? Have you tried it, they really work? Thank you,

How interesting to compare this with the a7s3

I worked with both a7s3 and sigma fp files. I i decided to go for sigma fp nothing come close to 12bit uncompressed raw cdng files, PERIOD!
